Mainly, this is because I feel Dave's Noodles tend to over-sauce their noodle boxes and they have a $15 minimum purchase for credit cards, which means if you are by yourself you end up buying more or paying cash.

I suddenly and urgently missed the days of hanging out at Hanaichi in Brisbane with my heart friends. So I got the chicken katsudon, with hearty encouragement from the lovely older lady, because it's her favourite. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS. It's like a comfort food is back in my life and I'm so, so happy about it. Have I been back already? I sure have. The second time, I stuck to my guns and had the Kobe ramen. It was also delicious, hearty and messy (like all good ramen should be). Now all I need to do is never stop visiting. I have noted another reviewer was critical of the bain marie dishes, but I can't qualify that as I have only tried the 'to-order' menu items - which are great. The smokiness of the wokhei was good and the overall dish had the right amount of oiliness. The roti was disappointing as it seemed overly fried and difficult to pull apart. The side of sauce tasted like the laksa soup but I detected an older oil taste when chewing it. Definitely not one I'd order again. Usually the hot broth can cook down the the thin raw beef slice and insures fresh tasty beef. So I've had much better.
