When you are in a new city, either you rely on reviews or on your insticts.. while roaming Grafton Street, we saw there was a queue, and being asian, I always want rice in my meal. We thought we'll have something to eat, but saw one table empty and settled there. They were quite busy but not slow. I ordered xian chicken fried rice (house special) It came in like 5minutes.. and what a dish it was.. means it was one of the fav meal in Dublin. And portion size was huge if I compare to what I got throughout my journey in London, Edinburgh. I did not finish it all, so I packed the rest of it Ambeicne: small but cute décor. I would say enough sitting for 20 folks easily. The price is reasonable, 15 euros for fried rice. Service is equally good. They give you the token and then bring your food on your table. Quick and tasty food. Overall 4.5/5

The second after I checked in to my hotel in Dublin, I made my way to Xian Street Food. It's one of those food destinations that made its way into all the social media food rec content I came across. I'd never had Chinese takeaway (curry and chips) before, so I got the meal deal of their iconic duo. It was delicious! There's that phenomenal and cannot-be-replicated MSG + Chinese Five Spice flavor. The chicken was equally delicious and soft (not dark meat, which I appreciate). There is seating both upstairs and downstairs. The only thing is that it's very heavy to digest. As a heads up, the portion could feed 2 people.
While in Dublin, Ireland for the 1st time (10/08/2025-10/11/2025) my husband and I, visited this Xian Street Food location a few different times ..here is my feedback from those multiple visits. We originally visited Xian to try out the "Xi'an Famous Spice Bag" - it was a huge portion- enough for sharing & very flavorful. During our 1st visit, we ate our food inside the restaurant, despite it being very busy, service was very fast, food was made fresh and came out fairly quickly, food order was correct. After that 1st visit, we ordered our food take away & both times, our food order was incorrect. The 2nd time we checked our food before we left and we were able to let them know we were missing something. For this reason, I did take a star off from this review. Just a few helpful fyi(s): --- This location gets VERY busy! Every time we visited, there was a line of people waiting outside to get their orders. If you're lucky, you might get a seat inside to at your food but most likely, you'll be taking your food to go. ---- despite being busy, food usually comes out pretty quickly and is made fresh no matter the day/time you visit. To sum it up, I definitely recommend checking out Xian Street Food in Dublin if you get a chance!
I think more Irish people should try American Southern Cajun fries because they were better than the infamous spice bag. The spice bag was very mild in comparison. Tom Yum soup was tasty but needed more toppings inside. Very popular though so I recommend eating at 5pm to beat the rush. Seating was very little.
I can definitely see why there is always a line out the door. We came craving a Jianbing, and left full and happy after sharing a spice bag, and specialty noodles. The jianbing was very tasty, but lacked the wonton cracker on the inside that I am used to. Nevertheless worth the try. The noodles packed a punch but the portion was huge. This could've easily been the only thing we split. The spice bag is a must, and practically every order had these as a side. Salty and spicy they kept us coming back for more. Bring your stretchy pants for the huge portions, be patient as they go through the orders, and plan to have your food to go as seating is extremely limited.
American approved! This was my first time having the "spice bag" all of my coworkers were telling me I had to try. It was worth the walk all around Dublin in the rain to find the place! The plate came out quick and it was simply chicken tenders over fries with a Chinese spice. It was enough food for me to eat for two meals ! And the option of trying the Chinese soda was nice as well. The service was quick and they were all very friendly.
The restaurant is obviously very popular. When you go in there are lots of people and limited seating. There is seating upstairs if you are looking for a sit down experience but it is still crowded. We ordered the spice bag, hot oil splashed biang biang noodles, and the pan fried pork dumplings. The spice bag was amazing. The chips and chicken were perfectly cooked and spiced. The biang biang noodles were not sauced enough and had a strange after taste. The pork dumplings were nothing special. If you are going to try out Xian Street Food, get the spice bag or something else off the menu. They have a gigantic menu with lots of options but I was not impressed by most the dishes we had. Would go back to try different things.
We never to rarely ever visit the same restaurant twice when we are traveling, but we loved Xian so much that we came back the next day. Loved the vibes of this place and the wait staff, though incredibly busy, still made the time to make sure we had everything we needed as food was delivered to our table. We can honestly say we did not have one bad bite of food. To our surprise, the Spice Bag was the thing we thought was the least impressive of the bunch. Still very good, but everything else was so much better. Wish there was a little more chicken in it. The Pan Fried Dumplings were maybe some the best we ever had. Do not skip the Cucumber Salad, this dish is incredibly underrated. The Chicken Satay was very good, not sure if I would get it again. The Thai Basil Beef was a stunner! Huge flavor bomb! In fact, do not skip any beef dish they have. The Crispy Chili Chicken was the best part of a Spice Bag, without the fries. The Duck Wings had amazing flavor, wished they were served a bit hotter. Everything I am mentioning as a criticism is slight and minor FYI. If we ever come back to Dublin, we are coming straight here! Also, do not sleep on their cocktail menu! Amazing drinks! read more

Get the spice bag! Fries and chicken tenders tossed in Chinese spices and served with a side of curry sauce. The portion is large and can be shared. The restaurant is small so you will most likely have to eat outside. There's a a few benches so you may get lucky. read more
I heard from multiple sources that I couldn't leave Dublin without trying the Spice Bag from Xian Street Food. And I can't just come here and try one dish so of course I ordered far more than I can eat. Regrets? None. The Spice Bag was definitely delicious. The savory bites of crispy fries/chips and chunks of fried chicken tenders/chunks was a gut bomb bursting with that delectable asian flavor. I had to get the pickled cucumbers to help balance out the savory overload. Xian Famous Biang Biang noodles was my favorite though. So glad I ordered this dish! The hand-pulled noodles were pure perfection from the texture, thickness and flavor. The Chicken Satay was just ok. Good but outshined by the Biang Biang Noodles and Spice Bag. The lines can get pretty long here however, the service is fairly quick. The only issue most face is finding a seat in the small, cramped space. Most people take their items to-go or eat on the curb/street just outside. It was a cold day and I ordered too much food to stand around and also let my fries get cold. Fortunately, I was able to find a seat soon after I placed my order at the counter. read more
Better than most places I've been to in the States. The hand-pulled noodles were perfectly chewy. My kids said the medium was a little too spicy for them, but ai would go hotter for myself next time. The duck sandwich was also quite good. Will definitely return if back in Dublin. read more

These are so bland I can't even say they taste bad because they taste like nothing. I got pan fried chicken dumplings so maybe a different meat will have more flavor but these are so painfully bland. read more

Two thumbs up!!! Their spice bag is legit amazing. I don't know what batter/coating they use on the chicken but my oh my... crispy, chewy, and spicy. One word. Umami. It does get crowded but manageable. Service was great but the food was outstanding. read more
We went here because of all the hype. The place is quite small but there is seating which is great. We got the Xians famous spice bag which is basically just fries and chicken tenders with a bit of spices. Overall it was ok, nothing quite special. We ordered the curry sauce as well which was actually very good. The noodles we got were just average . I will say that if you ordered for dine in, the food comes wayyyyy faster than ordering takeout. read more

Beware...I got awful food poisoning here. Had the chicken fried rice, egg rolls and vegetable dumplings. And I didn't even eat much of it because it wasn't very good (bland, ricearoni rice).There were lots of people there, but I think many people come for the fried chicken spice snack thing. Maybe that's safer. But I feel nauseated even thinking of that place now. read more
In the middle of our pub crawl, we stopped by Xian for a spice bag. Their spice bag is absolutely fire. I can't say too much about their service, but the staff seemed very nice. The restaurant itself is pretty small. It looked like a grab-and-go spot which make sense given they serve mainly street food. There was a pretty sizeable crowd when we arrived, but it's definitely worth the wait. The spice bag. I have no words to describe how yummy it was. A bag full of spicy fried chicken, fries, and onion? I could live off of spice bags. Perfectly spicy, packed with flavor, and crispy but not overly so. Walking the streets of Dublin with a spice bag while slightly tipsy off of GUINNESS is something to behold. I cannot begin to elaborate just how much I want to go back for a spice bag again. Come to Xian, do what we did, and you'll see that life is worth living. read more

At the end of our time in Dublin, we finally made it to this spot which was recommended by a friend. Be forewarned - the portions are large! We thought we would be able to try a few things and we should've just split one. The spice bag is everything we wanted and more. It's such a simple dish of seasoned fries (chips) and chicken, but it's addictive! It's the perfect balance of salty and spicy. It's clearly a top seller here - nearly every table and to go bag had an order of them. The specialty noodles: we went with the Liangpi noodles, chicken, and Dan Dan sauce. It was a challenge to eat, but the combination of flavors with the noodles, vegetables, and protein was incredible. Again - this could have been the only item we purchased and could have split as two hungry adults. The jianbing was a bit eggier than others we've had, but that may just be personal taste/preference. It was also lacking the crunch we were looking for. The space isn't really designed for eating in. There were at least 40 to go orders passing by us in the time we waited for our food, and we were lucky to find a seat. Be prepared to wait and to take away. read more

So yummy! We came here for the irish spice bag and it did not disappoint! We quickly got our food and found an open table inside the storefront. We were able to eat inside on plates inside of taking togo. Definitely recommend the spice bag- not too spicy but so delicious! read more

The Dublin air was thick with the aroma of chili, a spicy tingle in the back of my nose as I waited in line for the famous spice bag. An Irish couple had insisted I try it with a side of curry, and they were absolutely right. The spice bag was a crispy, crunchy delight, not painfully hot, but a numbing spice that leaves you craving more, a tingle on the tip of your tongue. The shredded chicken, which is essentially chicken tenders, was juicy and crunchy, pairing perfectly with the curry sauce. I'd recommend ordering a large side of curry sauce rather than a small. The service was excellent; everyone was friendly and helpful in choosing my noodles. I'm just bummed that I forgot to take a photo! read more

Very loud music and bustling of customers from the sidewalks. Order at counter OR faster ONLINE. Everything's cooked to order. They will call out your order number looking for you. Ordered Singapore Noodles. €14.50. Beautifully stir fried with fried tofu and other meats and veggies. Added sesame oil and chili oil. And there is extra chili oil on side to make more spicy. GETS very busy! Order online recommend. A few tables downstairs as well as an upstairs dining area. I'm a FaN for the authentic flavors and noodles !!! read more

My favorite food in Dublin to date is a proper spice bag! Lol. My friends made fun of me because it's basically Chinese food, I give them credit that it's Irish-Chinese food. Background: I have been drooling about trying this place after years of watching their social media videos. Dubbed one of the best spice bag spots in Dublin, I was not going to miss it this time around. GPS helped me find this spot right away. It's definitely in the heart of downtown and was about a 10 minute walk (or less) from Grafton street where I was staying. The red banner could be seen a mile away and I eagerly approached. I like the setup of this spot. You can dine in on their small covered front patio or inside. It's definitely got the best divey feel. Or if you are getting takeaway like I did, you just walk to the back and order at the counter. The menu is large and everything looked delicious. I wish I could have ordered one of everything TBH. I ordered a classic spice bag combo. The combo comes with the spice bag, a side of sauce, and a drink. I got the curry sauce (trust me it's a must) and a water bottle, because duh health. The staff were efficient. They gave me a receipt with a number and had me wait in front of the restaurant. As popular as this spot is my bag was ready in about seven minutes. A proper spice bag is chips, fried chicken bites tossed in chili oil and light grilled veg (onions and such). You dip every bite in the sauce (again go with the curry sauce). It's literally one of my top 5 foods of all time! This dish was 100/100! I love how crispy and hot the chicken and chips were. The chili oil was mild enough but gave you a nice little kick. The curry sauce just brings it all together. If you are in Dublin just trust me on this and get a spice bag. Also the best part is this combo meal was about $13. I'd love to Ireland to have this dish at my fingertips that's for sure. read more
Just perfect experience. Order the spice bag and yes it is enough for two people. You spend 9 euros and you both will leave full. We arrived 5 minutes before opening and there was already a line, 10 minutes after opening the line was out the door. It does move quick which is nice. Service is very friendly and there is a decent amount of seating for the small space it's in. I wouldn't change anything about it, if you are visiting Dublin then this is a must stop for you! read more

It was madness but wow was the spice bag worth it. I feel fat today lol going to have to add an extra 10000 steps into my schedule and fast all morning. Minimal seating so take away was my choice. The servers are on point running around getting everyone their orders as quickly and smooth as possible. They have the routine on point. read more
Looking for something right of the street that has a little kick to it? Stop for a spice bag or some noodles. This place was so busy but we actually found a seat surprisingly and got served in a decent time. The spice bags are a must here with the curry sauce. The soup dumplings are also good but maybe not a good to every time. Yes this place is popular and yes it may be basic but it's also delicious. The guys working were great and overall love the vibes! My husband entertained my TikTok request to lunch at Xi'An Street Food and grab a spice bag, the trendy Chinese fast food option for people on the go! We found the actual Xi'An location I wanted to try, and I grabbed Ron Jones one with a little extra spice! However, the spice hit hard, and the sweat droplets formed. He got the curry sauce and I got the sweet n sour (satay was another option). A spice bag is a mixture of crispy chicken, fries ("chips"),a few vegetables, and various spices, (including a Chinese 5-spice) and a sauce on the side that you can pour in and shake up and then eat. We dipped ours. So tasty! Loved being in the hub of it all! Quick service, but it's a bit of a struggle to grab a seat! So tasty. Definitely worth it! read more

Be prepared to wait if you're placing a carryout order -- this place gets super packed. The food is popular for a reason, but the staff is clearly working in a very fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Unfortunately, our experience was a bit frustrating. One of our items (worth €10) was missing from the order, and when we called, they said they couldn't issue a refund over the phone and I'm unable to back to the location. Make sure to triple check your order before you leave. Great flavors and portions, but the chaotic pickup process could definitely use some improvement so items will not get missed when packing orders. read more
