As a veteran lupus warrior, my life revolves around doctors, and I have to say that Guilda Sarraf…read moreis one of the most stellar doctors I have ever known-ever, for several years now. She even catches a whole lot of things that the other specialists overlook, constantly. I know how ponderous and cumbersome reading reviews can get, but please know that Dr. Sarraf is the real deal. Her knowledge is fantastic and she knows how to relate her cardiology profession to the other interdisciplinary professions, thereby helping alleviate my symptoms. Since lupus attacks everything, this is incumbent. As a most recent example, she caught something that a primary care physician did wrong. PCP said my cholesterol was 'high', but Dr Sarraf said to completely disregard the lab values because the doctor "forgot" to have me fasting before drawing the labs. Simple things like that so many professionals carelessly miss! But not Dr. Sarraf! For once, at least I know I can relax a little knowing that this doctor will take care of me, not to mention her level of professionalism. Dr. Sarraf can be away on vacation, but she will still call me back the same day, and oftentimes right away! She is exceedingly accommodating, at the very least. I recommend Dr. Sarraf with no reservation. Keep up the great work! *Important: Regarding the online presence: Thankfully Dr Sarraf is excluded from this but regarding other offices, you must beware and take heed: **Review sites and doctors corroborate together to silence the consumer even more: When doctors pay Healthgrades, Vitals, etc. for a premium subscription, or just give them money in general, bribes, etc., as usual and as one example, they allow for doctors to hide 3 or more reviews that they arbitrarily dislike. Again, this is just one unethical tactic out of many they use. As a result, I truly applaud all those consumers who muster up the courage to write a review that is both truthful and that addresses the concerns of that doctor and its facility. There is always at least some validity in the negative reviews that are getting pummeled by bribes and bots and solicitations to get more positive reviews. Telling the truth is harder than choosing the path of least resistance and 'going with the flow'. Make no mistake about it, these providers are very savvy, so do not fall for all their deceitfulness. (Again, Dr. Sarraf excluded from here). Be wise and notice the slew of positive reviews- because they are being solicited constantly during and after appointments, to write five stars and people want to be welcomed into their office and would rather not voice the truths. In summary, I recommend Dr. Sarraf with no reservation. But please scrutinize other offices. Keep up the great work!

She takes the time to listen and ensures that I fully understand my treatment. She makes me feel heard, supported and truly prioritizes my well-being - she genuinely cares! Dr. Young and her staff are warm, attentive and compassionate, which makes every visit a positive experience! They have gone above and beyond to assist with health concerns. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, I don't know where I would be today without Dr. Young! I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a knowledgeable and caring specialist! She will take really good care of your heart!

Type of care: yearly heart condition check-up and in-office examinations prior to the visit…read more Quality of care: Not satisfied. Office experience: The staff are lovely. The assistant who scanned my heart previously was very nice and remembered my condition even after more than a year. (Also, their appointments are very sparse throughout the year.) This cardiologist seemed more interested in how I was dressed than in my heart. This, among other things, made me feel very uncomfortable. I remember her making sure that I understood her comment about my clothes, saying it twice. I felt more comfortable around her assistant, who is a male, than her. I am on Medi-Cal, but she kept recommending that I change my insurance to cover some additional and very rare examinations. As if I can do that overnight. She doesn't talk to you; she just nods and says very few words. There's no opportunity to express concerns. I have been in contact with cardiologists all my life, both for myself and for other people. Everyone has their own character, and I accept that as long as it doesn't become unacceptable conduct. I did not go to my last visit, to collect all my exams because of this. And I am procrastinating exactly because of this cardiologist.

Wow. Just wow... Let me first say that I am a long time…read morepatient of Dr Lee (at Pasadena location), who is very professional, kind and I trust him. But, today I called the office in Pasadena to follow up on a prescription issue. So, yeah... I got annoyed when the "nurse" Ana tells me twice that when I change pharmacies I need to make sure to let them know. Well, I changed pharmacies 3 years ago, notified the office staff 2 times since then, what more do I need to do? For some reason, "nurse" Ana felt the need to repeat to me that I need to let them know when I change pharmacies to avoid issues like the one I called about today. I told her that this error was not my fault, as I had notified the staff at their office previously a few times already. I repeated this was not my fault. Well, something about that made her lose it. She was already short and rude with me to start, but at this point she yells at me (as if I was her child or something) that she did not say it was my fault and that I need to listen to her and then all I heard was "blah blah blah"... because it was taking every ounce of my energy to not yell right back at her. I asked her to not yell at me. Then in a softer tone said she wasn't yelling and that she was only trying to tell me that I need to let them know when I change pharmacies. So, now I felt like I was trapped in a bad episode of Seinfeld or something. I was upset because she yelled at ME, when THEY were the ones who made a mistake, didn't notice that I had changed pharmacies a long time ago, and they were faxing the wrong pharmacy because of their own oversight. Do you think I got an "I'm sorry"... nope. In fact, I'm pretty sure she cussed me out after we hung up the phone. Ooo she was mad! I sure hope someone at the office reads this, because someone needs to have a talk with "nurse" Ana. She either hates her job, is a miserable woman taking it out on others, or needs some anger management. Or... she may not realize that she is in a customer service role (as a nurse, no less) where I am her customer (a patient, who's blood pressure may be a little higher after being yelled at) and she needs to remain calm and empathetic in her job! Oh, and, by the way... Ana: if you ever yell at me again, I will yell at you right back next next time and let it out on you directly, rather than vent on Yelp. Good day!

Unfortunately, only our first visit was great. During our second visit, I was waiting for the ultrasound room with my father. I heard a loud female voice yell, "Put on your clothes!" Then I heard the angry voice again and heard the mumble of an old man. I thought, "geez, some people treat their family members like this..." And a minute later I heard a disturbing scream: "MY GOODNESS, PUT ON YOUR CLOTHES!!!" I was ready to give judgmental eyes when the door to the ultrasound room opened, but the people who walked out were an old man and our ultrasound tech, not the old man's family member. Great. I was scared for my dad at that point because he's old and weak, so I followed them in and watched the process like a hawk. She remained professional until the end when my dad had a coughing fit laying on the bed as instructed. She made a disgusting face and straight tossed a dirty towel over my dad's face, went "ughh," and returned to her paperwork. If you plan to take your elderly here, supervise the entire visit. This lady has no respect or compassion for the elderly. I don't care if you are good at your job, but if you treat elderly like that maybe you're in the wrong field. In the end, another doctor from the office saw my dad instead of Dr. Choo.
