I've been to Laderach several times and have always had an amazing experience. To start off with,…read morethe customer service is always friendly and knowledgeable. If you ask any of the workers, they will be able to tell you their personal favorite flavors. There are endless rows of beautifully displayed fresh chocolate slabs that are almost too pretty to eat. Some of my personal favorites are the milk chocolate with hazelnuts, nut trio milk and dark (hazelnuts, almonds, and pistachios with milk and dark chocolate), and their cherry-raspberry white-dark (seasonal flavor). They also often come out with new flavors like the Dubai chocolate or cornflakes with milk chocolate. The quality of the chocolate really stands out. Even though it's definitely on the pricier side, the quality makes it feel worth it for a special treat or gift. If you're a chocolate lover, Läderach is a must visit destination. It's one of those places where it's almost impossible to leave with just one flavor, and I'll definitely be back to try more flavors.

CHOCOLATE FROM SWITZERLAND (3.2 stars)…read more Real talk, I didn't savor exquisite chocolates. Definitely better than Hershey but not better than Toblerone (in my opinion). The two pieces of chocolates I bought for $5 per piece had no wow-factor and nothing stood out but tasting about average-good chocolate. The chocolates here are very pricy and don't feel there was justification. MILK CHOCOLATE with hazelnuts, gianduja ($5) - This was good and liked it better than the other chocolate I bought, only because there was more chocolate flavor and I like texture in my chocolate bars such as hazelnuts. WHITE CARAMEL CHOCOLATE with almonds, granola, caramel ($5) - This reminded me of a Starbucks Caramel Machiatto and surprised it didn't blow my taste buds. I think I can walk pass this chocolate shop while shopping. I'll stick to my Toblerone. Until the next review...

Was in the area and wanted something sweet so we decided to come here. Purchased a slice of "the…read moreEvil one" (coconut cake), one everything brownie, and a raspberry truffle. - The cake was so good. Perfect texture/moisture and not overly sweet. Very comparable to the coconut cake at Susiecakes. If you like that one, you'll like this one as well. - I'm not a brownie fan at all but this one could change my mind. - As for the truffle, I probably wouldn't get it again but that's only because I prefer milk chocolate. Pretty small shop. There were four of us in there; it felt pretty crowded once another customer walked in. The worker was really nice and you could tell she liked her job. Yes, you will have to ask what the truffle flavors of the day are so if you're that averse to talking to people (like that other reviewer) then just stick to the grocery store so you can read a label.

It's a fudge texture and we thought it might have toffee and walnuts inside. A chocolate ganache topped it off. It got mixed reviews. It was described as "more candy than brownie" & very rich. Personally I didn't care for it. It was chewy, deep chocolate but underwhelmed. My cousin and I tried the truffle. The chocolate is a high cacao type that felt a little chalky. Think ghiradelli v a buttery Belgium. Nothing was marked to describe the truffles. I had to ask what was what. No prices were there either. The brownies were $7 each, truffles $6. The truffles were described as "huge".

My husband who doesn't like chocolate and dislikes dark chocolate even more tried this chocolate and immediately said, "let's get some!" Michael came from a rocket science background and you'll taste chocolates made by a rocket scientist! I learned about this chocolatier through a Yelp elite event. They offer bars, fudges, truffles and even halvas (a crumbly, nutty confection of Asian, African and also European origin). Their exciting bar flavors include spicy mango, pistachio, cashew, coconut, and all of the above. Although halvas are the very popular item at the store, I personally prefer the truffles. I couldn't help but bought 2 bags even through the price tag was on the higher side ($10 for 5/6 pieces). I don't care because I don't eat this often and it's so good! They're at the Solana Beach market every other week. Go check them out! Check in for 20% off any chocolate bar!
