My first session with XOXO Alice was in 2018; it was purchased as a wedding gift for my husband. I had lost 100 pounds over the course of our relationship and was super nervous to have boudoir photos done because of how embarrassed I was by the loose skin that I had all over my body. I imagined options for outfits and poses would be very limited, and I would spend the whole time nervous as heck and hating myself. The super detailed instructions to prepare for the session were the first thing to set my mind at ease. I was glad to know I only had to personally bring SOME of the outfits I wanted to wear but that there was a full wardrobe of varying sizes waiting for me. I was greeted on the morning of the shoot by one of her kitty cats, which immediately made me feel more at ease. The conversation held between myself, Alecia, and the make-up artist that morning to determine the kind of photos we wanted to shoot was eye-opening and very information, though I felt like a shy newbie not having the answer on-hand when I showed up. Alecia used creative methods to get me the best shots possible and made me feel more at ease throughout the course of the day by cracking jokes to make me laugh and just have general conversation about shared interests (specifically pet birds). By the end of the day, I had come to love how my body was portrayed in a way I never knew was possible. The directions she gave throughout the shoot were kind and specific so that she got the exact bodily post and expression that she needed. My husband could not have been happier with the photos, and I will always cherish the self-esteem boost I left with. The second shoot I had was vastly different than my first. It took place in early 2022 while I was still scared witless about catching COVID-19. She had a process in place requiring each client to take a rapid test in their car prior to the session to confirm a negative result. This made me feel much safer considering she was the first person  outside my family and close friends that I would spend a day around maskless since the pandemic began.  Some relevant background information includes something that developed over the course of time since the initial photoshoot: this included the onset of chronic (nearly constant) pain in my neck, shoulders, and upper and lower back that is greatly flared by too much motion of my joints that were weakened by illness and major surgery recovery. I was nervous as all get-out to reach out to Alecia to see if I could request a session (via one of her model-calls on her Facebook page) thinking that I would be too hard to work with due to my physical limitations. Remembering how much I had to move or bend during the first session, I thought it would be impossible to have a similar experience again. My weak and painful body had driven me to hatred and depression because my body had all but given up on me. I had also put on a teensy bit of weight due to my inability to exercise. Alecia assured me that she could work with me to show me that my body wasn't to be hated and was confident that she could use feedback given by myself during the session to ensure she didn't cause an excess of pain. She ended up discussing my changing life situation while makeup and hair were being handled. Not only did she make me feel like a "normal" person regardless of my illnesses and pain, she made sure I knew that she saw me as no less of a woman or model. She did a lot of moving and shifting to accommodate my decreased abilities of motion and took my inability to stand for long periods of count all into ability when choosing the outfits and poses. We even made a sort of silly game out of taking water breaks since I am required to drink far more water than most people; she was sure to take a water break whenever I did and made sure I ate when I needed to. I was so shocked by the resulting images and felt like she helped me along the first step of accepting my new disability by taking myself for how I am and not just hating my own existence. I know this may seem like a little much to come out of a boudoir photography session, but she has a magical way of seeing everyone she photographs the way they need to be and deserve to be seen. Best couples boudoir option! I researched various companies and met with several photographers in order to find the best company for quality and pricing; after my initial discussion with Alecia, she stood apart and it was an easy choice. Alecia went above and beyond even our greatest hopes. She is informative, professional, and generous with her time. From the moment we met Alecia it felt like we had known her for years. She created a comfortable, confident environment where we could all have fun, be ourselves and she managed to capture exactly what we were hoping she would regarding our relationship - how much fun we have together. We brought way too many outfits and as I hoped, she helped us narrow it down to pick out the best outfits and jewelry to photograph in. We spent 90% of the shoot laughing and enjoying ourselves while still getting plenty of 'serious' shots in too. She didn't stop there though, after the photoshoot she continued to impress us. She met with us and we went through our photographs to pick our favorites. Her input was invaluable! It was incredible to see some of the poses she put us in come to life and she has a perfect eye for flattering lighting, so we only wanted a couple of the photos edited. Then we got to review our album format and she was open to any ideas that we had and incorporated them flawlessly. At first, we weren't sure if we wanted an album but after receiving ours, we can't imagine going through this process without one! It has been so fun to display the album and look through the photos as it was very thoughtfully put together. There are beautiful covers to choose from and I went with a rose gold (picture attached). We also decided to purchase wall art through her as part of our package and it turned out amazing (picture attached). Even our scan drive with ALL of our photos chosen came in a personalized box. Her makeup artist was phenomenal and a pleasure to be around as well. She had a very wide range of what she can offer as far as complete glam to very natural! Alecia is one of the most incredibly talented photographers in STL. She is without a doubt the best boudoir photographer in the Midwest. She is professional from start to finish. She was busy, I understood This was the email I sent her: I purchased two of your photo packages at the holiday price of $90.00. Mid-December. I have tried email, phone, you are unavailable. No return call, communication from you. I would like to know the process for making a reservation and confirming my payments. Phone calls don't seem to work. What's going on here? Alecia is amazing! She is an incredible artist behind the camera and the hype lady we all need to feel our best during the session! There are so many great things that I could say, but the underlying message is don't wait to book your session, you won't regret it. Invest in yourself! The session itself was very professional and yet also laid-back--Alecia made you feel comfortable in the space and respected all boundaries throughout! She was very intentional about asking about boundaries throughout the session. She is inclusive, body-positive and trauma-informed! I felt beautiful and pampered getting my hair and makeup done. It was definitely tailored towards how I wanted to look during the session -- I felt like me, but goddess me! That is important because I wanted to see me in the photos, and I very much did. Sometimes photographers are very skilled and amazing at their job -- they have a vision, adjusting to the wants of a client and of what they know looks good as well as trying to capture mood and emotion. Sometimes they are very friendly, nice, and are skilled at making you feel comfortable, and are easy and fun to work with too. It's a rare and wonderful thing when they have both skill sets and I was ecstatic to find Alecia has both. Seriously, she is amazing. She has everything you want -- the skills and know how to get what you want. She is very concerned about what you want, what you think, and how to make you happy. She pairs that with her expertise and what you get is magical images that are beyond what you could expect! Sessions are comfortable and fun (I felt like I spent an afternoon hanging out with a good friend). Her prices are reasonable. She will show you the electronic images to you that day (talk about quick turnover). She's fantastic as making you feel like a supermodel and the images back it up. I never thought of myself as someone who would even want a boudoir session, then I met Alecia.
