One of the girls at the desk will lead you into an adjustment room. You'll need to strip down to your underwear here. 2. You'll be massaged by one of the girls to loosen up your muscles so you adjust easier. 3. A heat lamp will be placed above your problem areas to soften the muscle further. 4. Let the adjustments begin! Tony's method of adjustment is very physical, so don't be alarmed if at some stage he is pushing his weight against you to align a specific part of your spine, or tugging on your legs to balance out your pelvis. Over the years I've found that chiropractors are like mechanics - there are lots around, but some I feel I can trust more than others. Dr. Hetal has a range of knowledge that extends well beyond that of chiropractic. He has a desire to understand the cause as well as the symptoms. He sees a patient as a puzzle and the goal is to do the smallest intervention in exactly the right place so as the patient gets the best result. He prides himself on his precision. The clinic has a calm and relaxed feel to it. It does get busy but even when busy there is still an air of order. I have watched him work when he has had several patients at once and even though everyone gets all the time they need he seems to move with a relaxed deftness. There will always be better chiropractors around but Dt. Hetal's patience with children through to his extensive life knowledge that allows him to relate relatively complex chiropractic concepts to adults is fairly unique in my experience.

However, I have never been a fan of cracking my own neck and don't really enjoy someone else cracking my back for me. I was pleased that before there was any cracking of my neck or spine, there was a one on one consultation, and X-Rays taken of my spine from all angles. Afterwards, I was given a gentle neck crack for loosening but nothing too serious. A few weeks went by and then I was able to come back for my second appointment. Again, there was no cracking or manipulation, instead we analysed my X-Rays. As suspected, I had a number of issues - my head sits too forward, my hips are not aligned, my lower back is swayed and my spine curves slightly to the left. The suggested treatment would be twice weekly visits for 13 weeks for manipulation and retraining the muscles around my problem areas. Then another 13 weeks of once a week visits, where we would also focus on exercises I can do at home. The price for each visit is $65, however if I committed to the first 13 week treatment, at 2 visits a week and paid up front, the price drops to $50 a visit - $1,300 for 26 visits over 13 weeks. Although I haven't decided yet to go ahead with it, as I'm still not 100% confident about Chiropractic treatment, I was very impressed with the professionalism of this place. They aren't just there to crack and pop you and send you on your way, it feels like they actually know what they're talking about and spend the time to diagnose your issues before they lay a hand on your spine. They also have a really cool sign in system for regulars - thumbprint recognition! As I sat in the waiting room, a number of regulars walked straight in and placed their thumb on the sensor and TA-DA, they were signed in and next in line for a crack and pop.

Sometimes, businesses use that as an excuse to turn every customer into a repeat one, but in this case they told me I probably wouldn't need one. So, props for honesty.

The physio therapy I received from Alex for my healed broken collar bone (to regain shoulder motion…read moreafter 1.5 months of inactivity) was helpful, and he was courteous and professional. However, he mostly just performed deep tissue massages and assessed shoulder movement. I found it strange that he did not recommend any exercises considering that my doctor who referred me to physiotherapy said my physio would provide a list of exercises. Additionally various internet sites recommended exercises as well for recovery from such an injury. When I asked, Alex said that I shouldn't do them, but didn't really explain the logic behind this statement very well. Its quite possible he was right, but I wanted more info. This place has two rates, one for a more experienced physiotherapist (I think around $130/hour or so) and one for a more junior, but still fully accredited physiotherapist ($90 or so per hour). Alex was the later. The front desk was very well organized and professional and they direct bill to BUPA which makes them very convenient.
