My suggestion was actually a hit. I did my indecisive alterego very proud. There are many quality club nights organised by the Lost and Found name and this was no exception. Dance off, being £1 entry, sold it for me. Doubles for £3, a range of sambucas £1.50? Messy. Dance off saw a battle between three major DJs, strangerways, good vibrations and juicy DJs playing a mix of Joy Division, The Temptations and Dr Dre. Amazing combination. Ruby Lounge is renown for it's quality club nights and live music. The venue is perfect, with an adequate dance floor, a stage to match and plenty of seating on a slightly raised level for a chill out. Another great Northern Quarter location that needs to become a regular thing for me.

The gig was billed as The Cribs Aftershow but it was basically just a gig- most of the spectators were either in one of the four bands, looked like they should be or were girl groupies who were way too impressed with themselves that they were getting backstage. The sofas and high backed armchairs in the main bar area were nice touches, there were a few mirror balls around too. Plus velvet curtains - hello, strip club? Then you turn to the grimy stage area with the big grill up between the bands and the crowd. That said, no one went past the pillar anyway. Too cool to stand right at the front. Alright drinks prices - get some of their cheap vodka mixers or flavoured sambucas otherwise you'll run out of money quickly. After the bands they had Gareth Brooks from Xfm DJIng but we didn't end up staying.

It's a really nice place and the food is good - I had Tagliatelle Della Casa which in their words is ribbon pasta cooked with chicken, ham and peas in tomato cream sauce - all I know is it was very tasty. If I'm being picky there could have been a higher chicken to pasta ratio but none the less a great dish. I came with my family for my brothers birthday and each enjoyed their dish; my dad had Linguine Con Gamberoni - prawns and scallops with linguine, my mum a Risotto and the little brother a pizza - everything spot on! In a decent spot for a date night, a family me as I did, or somewhere to grab a quick meal before a night out as there are several nice pubs nearby. It's not setting the world alight, but with an extensive menu, competitive prices and good quality food, Ericos is a solid bet.

I didn't think the food was amazing and the large menu includes some random dishes e.g. Mexican that make it pretty obvious they are not trying to be an authentic trattoria etc. Nevertheless, the garlic bread with tomato was fine and although I didn't like the slight sour sauce on our prawns very much, they were at least good-sized ones. Overall though, that starter is not good value at over £7 for 4 prawns. For my main I got cannelloni which wasn't greatly above supermarket ready meal standard but you can't go too wrong with meat, melted cheese and tomato. My bf's mum had ravioli which was served on a massive plate covered in orange sauce - I thought it looked like it had way too much sauce and also the colour was weird. However, she ate it all so it can't have been that bad! Boyfriend's pizza looked ok but due to his hangover he didn't even get through half!

So along I toddled, parked up nearby, and found the place which at first glance just looks like a "café", but trust me, it's really not, it's a fab restaurant which I never knew about, right on my doorstep here in Bolton! We were warmly greeted by the owner, who tell us about the history of the place (it was actually a bank!), the potential plans and decoration ideas, and how the venue is still a work in concept, with a bright future. It's always nice to meet someone passionate about their business, and giving good customer service. The venue itself is in simple monochromatic colours with clean lines and modern artwork, but with a traditional chandelier in the centre, which contrasts nicely. We ordered a classic cheeseburger and a gammon dinner. Both were cooked freshly to order, which is always a nice thing to experience in this day and age. The burger was juicy, in a glazed brioche bun, and the gammon was, to quote Phil R, "the best gammon I've ever had!" (I'll agree, it melted in the mouth!), with perfect eggs... but for me the best was the chips! Gigantic triple-cooked crispy crunchy batons of loveliness! Some of the best chips I've had, with a real crunch to them, unlike some places that claim to triple-cook chips! I'd go here again just for the chips, quite honestly! After an enjoyable and filling main course, we decided to take a breather so that we could order dessert! It seemed like a shame to skip dessert after such an enjoyable meal! After mulling over the dessert menu, Phil R went for the home made apple pie with custard, whilst I opted for the more intriguing "love in a cup". The desserts were mixed. Phil R said that the apple pie was more puree and poor pastry, but it had good custard. The 'Love in a Cup' turned out to be a very very chocolatey cake in a teacup, with fresh cream on top, very tasty, and perfect for the chocoholics out there! I even experimented by pouring some of the custard onto it to mellow it out a little, and that worked just as well! My partner and I decided it should be renamed, the "Oh My God That's Chocolatey!". Overall, The Bank is offering superb food for extremely reasonable prices. I'll be there again, and recommend you give it a go sometime if you fancy somewhere where simple food is done very well indeed!

We searched online and came back with the Bank on Bury Road heading into Bolton. We had a look at the menu and it sounded great so we decided to head there. As we drove up to the address, I thought I must have had it wrong as it looked like a row of houses, however, the quaint little bistro is located on the end of the terrace. You could easily miss it, or never know it's there, but for those who seek this treasure trove it is there to be found. We walked into the restaurant to find a room modern and fresh, no bigger than some living rooms. The manager was delightfully pleasant, seating us and serving us quickly and making sure we were looked after. I decided on the Overdraft burger (love all the punny menu item names) and my girlfriend had the rump steak. The burger was firstly, excellent and secondly, huge. I'm a big burger fan, and this was no let down. For such a reasonably priced burger in a fairly unknown place, this really was good. The patties were juicy and well seasoned, the bread fresh, chicken was tender and the chips are excellent, crisp, fluffy and very tasty! I tried the rump steak and it was so good, cooked to perfection, silky and juicy. I would definitely recommend this little gem to anyone, it's a lovely place with an attentive owner who is clearly passionate and loves what she does. The food is reasonably priced and really good. We will definitely be returning in the near future. Especially on weekend evenings when the manager told us they have acoustic performers throughout the night. Another little treat that the Bank has in the vault!

When he told me about the name of the pub (several times), I was enchanted. I had the fish and chips and much were very fish and chips. I am also a long time vegetarian trying to eat some fish. Failing miserably. The draft beer selections were the same as every other pub in London that I had tried. Found out in my next to last evening in England that Heineken controls the draft scene. I was searching for local, traditional British beer. Only one place in Oxford! I'll keep trying!! Delightful and charming brewpub or pub (again, American). Very homey feel to the restaurant/pub. The service was something. Fine but I enjoyed my experience thoroughly!

What I did see of the decor was nice. The majority of the waitresses were young and what I felt inexperienced . Asking us immediately what we wanted to drink without providing a menu and us having to enquire what the soup and pie of the day was. Drinks ordered I browsed the menu. It was just a lot of generic pub grub with not a lot of fish dishes. Saying that I did see some fish and chips get served that looked fab. I did find the menu a bit uninspiring but luckily I clocked the special board and saw the Strawberry Duck with bubble and squeak with garlic mash. Himself had the minted lamb pie and we shared chipolatas with mustard mayo. The starter was nice but forgettable...the mains were the star of the show. My duck was cooked to perfection and everything tasted fresh. The sauce was of perfect consistency and not too sweet. The mash could have done with more garlic but it was a fine dish especially while sipping yummy gooseberry gin. The minted lamb pie was rich and full of flavour with thick chips that were a little undercooked in the middle. To finish we had coffee as we were full. Overall I felt the service let it down a little, Asking if we want sauce when the starter was served with it, not asking how are food was in the beginning , not informing us about the specials etc and in the end we had to order Drinks at the bar as felt a bit neglected. It was nice to have a swift recommendation of what to have with the gin though and the bill was reasonable . Yes I would come back if I went for a walk in the area.

Walking in I could see a mature customer base..chilling on chaise lounges and overall being very civilised. We approached the podium where a gatekeeper to the restaurant stood. It was very busy when we arrived, a good sign! We waited in the bar for around 15 minutes whilst we waited to get a table. The menu is large, and has plenty of starters, lite bites and main meals to choose from. They have a specials menu too, which I find great for a pub! Although the chef must have gone crazy with the mustard this week, because there wasn't anything on the specials I would have liked. Still, others would! I ordered a homemade fish pie and it was lovely!! The service was fast and friendly and the bill was more than reasonable. If you're around on Hunger Hill and hungry - give it a try. They're been around since before I was born so I can imagine they won't be going anywhere soon!
