I live very close to this place and was excited to have so many services nearby. But I spent $250…read moreon lashes and they fell out in a couple days and they still charged me to fix them, and then left me a voicemail cancelling any future appointments (like I would have went back anyways) saying it was due to disrespectful actions. Ummmm. I apologize if feedback is disrespectful. . I've had my lashes done many times in California and this area and I don't know where this lash girl got her many years of experience but the first suggestion I would give is please don't glue my eyes shut and priming the lashes first might b helpful just like you would before applying anything you want to stick . Thank you

When I arrived, the check in process was clean and easy, and I was greeted warmly. I only had to wait a few minutes in the waiting room before Marisa was ready for my massage. Marisa immediately asked if I was allergic to any scents and/or body products, which I truly appreciated. She then asked if I had any specific concerns or areas I wanted her to focus on. When I told her about my TMJ flare up, she was very responsive. My massage was amazing! She was truly knowledgeable, open to feedback, and made me feel relaxed. After my massage, I went on to my facial. This was my first time ever receiving a facial, so I was super excited for Kaylea to work her magic. However, it turned out to be a rather disappointing experience. First of all, the walls were so thin I could hear every conversation had throughout the building, which made it very hard to relax. Secondly, I thought a steamer would be used, but warm towels were used instead. When she asked me what type of face mask I wanted, I wasn't sure of my choices. The only choice she gave me was the hydrating mask, so that's the one I ended up going with due to my lack of knowledge. While the mask was on, she was on her phone right behind me. It was super awkward... I definitely wish they would leave the room while the mask is setting! My skin felt great afterward, but the entire experience was uncomfortable, and it was so hard to relax! Overall, I probably wouldn't return to Element Day Spa. I don't treat myself often, so I rather pick a spa that really is more relaxing.

With an average of three stars, it's clear that they don't know how to handle customer service correctly. I stand by what I said. In my review, I mentioned they never replied to me. I received no phone call, no email, no messenger pigeon, nothing. Quit hanging on the laurels of your Sewickley location and actually stand by your obligation to SERVE people and own up to (multiple) mistakes.

Really hard to choose a rating. I was very much between a 2 and 3. I found this place because my…read morefriend just moved to the area. I live in Pittsburgh, so it was a bit of a hike for me to schedule an appointment here. But for a good salon I am willing to make the trip. I scheduled my appointment for a Saturday 2 weeks in advance. I specifically went here because they were an Aveda salon and I had been to and liked other Aveda places in the past. They have a super organic feel that I keep wanting to revisit. There is brand loyalty at it's finest. Upon arriving the staff was extremely friendly, offering me their list of services and something to drink. As I was taken upstairs to get my hair done, I was escorted by the girl who was going to do my hair. So I sit down and tell her what I want and the first thing she says is "we don't have enough time to do a full highlight. Especially with how much hair you have. You'll have to come back to finish that" This is the point in which I should have said, "Okay, thanks anyways!" and walked out. Come on! I am a new customer. If this was an issue for you, you should have asked me when I made my appointment 2 weeks back if I had long or thick hair. Amateur move, Vans. Now the whole visit I am basing what I have done on the time schedule they set. I felt rushed and as if I was taking up too much of her time. I hate feeling that way at a salon. I should feel relaxed at a place like this. And above all, I work a ton and definitely don't have time to make 2 trips to your salon for a service that should be done in a few hours. Second I was asked if I wanted my hair blow dried. I said "if you have time" because she clearly was busy as her phone is ringing to tell her the next customer is there. Hello! It's snowing outside! If you want to ask me this question in the heat of summer, by all means, go for it. When it's snowing outside, if your salon let's me walk out with wet hair, shame on you! Third thing that sort of irked me. I was charged for a cut. But she cut my bangs and did a small amount of thinning of my hair. If you are going to charge me for a cut, take the time to trim up my hair, please! Overall, I left feeling like I paid $100 +tip for nothing. 1.) I thought the color was too yellow. In some lights I look at my hair and think it looks like a box color that didn't quite sit long enough to highlight all the way. Perhaps she gets a lot of people in there and opts to go more conservative. ( Not one person noticed I had highlights put into my hair because it was so close to the color it was when I went in! And this was the first I had it done in 6 months! ) One thing I learned is I'll never hit up a salon without an example picture of what I want. 2.) I felt like I got a half a haircut and paid full price. I even had to specifically make her go back and do SOMETHING with the side swooping bangs I wanted. She put no layer or texture to them... just cut them with a hard edge. I went home and immediately cut them myself. This is probably a great salon for people who live in the area and need a simple service done. I just don't see myself returning. NOTE: I did tell them via email about my concerns. Got a call that day, which was awesome of them. The owners had the employee working call me. Props to the owners for that! Unfortunately the call I received was sort of an apology and it's also not our fault because you have lots of hair type of voicemail. It's already super uncomfortable to complain to a salon. It just made me feel guilty. I don't want to go in and sit with the same girl for an hour around a salon with employees who think I am just there complaining. Seems so... I dunno, embarrassing and awkward? I am also so swamped at work that I don't have time to go back in their hours in the next few weeks, so by then my "window of fixing the problem" will likely be closed. Overall just very :(

Linda is my stylist and I have to give her the highest of ratings…read more I have thick and curly hair. I color it every 3 weeks myself as I am all gray and my roots come in hard. Linda has been dealing with my hard to cut/color hair for many years now. She is a master at highlighting. I don't like highlights that look like stripes on your head, and I don't like the dark with almost white appearing streaks. My hair is dark, Linda takes me to. Natural looking golden caramel color. There are NO stripes and my hair is natural looking despite the process. I bring in photos, and she cuts my hair just like I ask her. This is a gift to me. It's rare to get just what you want. It always feels great to get the boost of a new "do", and Linda truly is an artist

I wasn't sure if i should review this place since I basically got my hair cut there my whole life…read more It was great when I was a kid but I think I am more comfortable with my stylist where I live now. They did hair for my sister's wedding but I liked the stylist for my brother's wedding better (not hair symmetry). My updo was very severe and not as soft and with retro vibes like my brother's stylists. Anyway, today's haircut was not what I was thinking at all...I asked for an inch or so off and trimming up my layers. I got a choppy about 3 inches off cut that looks terrible with my thick hair. Sadly, I will be wearing it in a ponytail until it grows out. The woman who cut my hair was SUUUPER nice though! It felt nice going back to a place I went to as a kid. It was desperate times with COVID going on, so my next haircut will be back where I live in Maryland. I am very grateful they were there in a pinch! I did learn my lesson though & will just ask for a trim next time.
