I've been here about 3 times over the past 2 years and have worked with several of the ladies here for trim and styling! Very professional service and welcoming environment. It was my first time having a balayage touch up done here last month with Avery. I didn't have much of a vision for what I wanted, just knew I wanted brown red tones. Avery was super sweet and attentive to my questions and my preferences. It's always a nervous process meeting a new hair stylist but we clicked really well and she was very reassuring and diligent with her work! I had a very positive experience with her and loved the redness of the balayage at the end. Everyone in the salon hyped me up and it felt like a very supportive environment for the workers and clients! Avery also walked me through how to maintain my hair color, and I have been able to keep my hair red 1 month later with the recommended red shampoo! I have been coming to Xscape for a few years now, and I have had only good experiences! I have seen three ladies at the salon, but have been with Kate F for majority of that time. Not only is the salon adorable, clean, and welcoming - but they have the BEST product selection. Aveda, R&Co., Orbe, and more. They aren't product pushy at ALL. On top of the hair products, they have a lovely assortment of hair accessories, jewelry, candles, lip products, etc on display every time I come in.. and honestly, it's always on trend, awesome quality, and you need it. I love their online booking tool - super easy to use! As for the talent of their stylists - I have never left unhappy with my hair, far from it. I always leave loving what was done and feeling like a million bucks. Each girl I have seen for a service has done an outstanding job and I have loved my hair! First timer. Asked for a certain cut and got a unbelievably horrible disaster. Sent pics to the owner and got the run around "no refund policy". Told them I did not trust them "correcting it". FINALLY, they caved....I assume because it was so, so bad. See photo. read more

Paid $250 (before tip) for my daughter to get highlights and a trim on her long hair. I reminded her to tell the stylist, Danielle, that we were going to an event tonight. Most stylist actually try to make you look your best regardless, but some want to know if it is a special occasion. When my daughter arrived home I was sure she hadn't told the stylist that she was going out. Her hair basically looked like it dried naturally with frizz and uneven waves (her natural texture with no product or care). The top was straight and flat. When she said she told Danielle, I picked through her hair and was able to find a couple of curls. So incredibly disappointing- would have been better at a Super Cuts and styling it ourselves. My husband and I have been going here for about five years. Justine is our stylist, and she's very good. She always does a great job, and she's very personable! Her prices are also very reasonable. They use Aveda products, which is a huge plus for me! I like this salon way better than Bangz, which I went to when j first moved to Rockford. read more

Jessy at Xscape Salon has been my hairstylist for more than 2 years. I am always bursting with happiness when I leave the salon. Jessy is not only amazing at what she does but she is a wonderful person as well which makes the experience that much better. After my rave reviews my friends and family started coming to Xscape salon and have all left just as happy with their hair and experience. The staff is extremely knowledgable (even giving me advice to help me stop damage to my hair on a daily basis with simple fixes), the salon is welcoming and always clean, and everyone is very friendly. I have tried this place not once but 4 times, the first time I did highlights and low lights, but had to go back because of blonde spots all over my low lights. The charged me 15 to fix it since I didn't come back within the first week, kind of hard to do with working full-time. So I went back again for just highlights didn't want to try the two color thing again, and part of my hair turned orange, so I went back that week and they attempted to fix it again charging me for the fix even though I was in that first week window :( I am now at a different hair salon getting it fixed :( . Kind of bad service to charge for fixing bad color. Although the hair stylist was nice I will not be going back. read more

I was very impressed with the friendly staff and the professional service I received. Jessie cut my hair and waxed my eyebrows. She was AMAZING!
