We knew we would need to replace the roof back then due to the age (approaching 20 years). We received an estimate but it was mentioned they thought we had pock marks indicating hail damage. Even though we had had a hail adjuster look at the roof a year or two prior, they recommended we contact the insurance company again. And yes - this time when the adjuster looked we had hail damage and qualified for a new roof. Roof replacement took place during one of the heavier outbreaks of COVID-19. Why Wait Roofing was patient with the supply chain issues, our insurance company, and the entire process as we balanced out the roof replacement time schedule to be the least disruptive to the hectic essential worker schedules of multiple family members. Two years later when we needed to change to a new home owner's insurance policy, Why Wait Roofing provided us with copies of the roofing invoices for the new insurance company. Just recently with the wet spring weather, we called and they came to look at our shed (next to the house) to make sure there weren't any shed roofing issues that were possibly the root cause of some puddling in our basement. He even jumped onto the roof and placed temporary patches up so we wouldn't get any more damage if it rained. This was before we had even hired him. After reviewing the packet he left and speaking to Jake on the phone it was a no brainer to choose Gold Star. Our insurance put up many barriers to discourage our claim for weather damage, and Jake carefully explained the process of submitting (and re-submitting) our claim, what questions to ask, and how to follow-up to get the settlement we were entitled to. It took some time, but the insurance eventually paid for replacing the roof. As soon as it was approved, Gold Star ordered the shingles and had it installed within about 10 days. The Gold Star crew arrived at the crack of dawn, worked all day in the hot sun, and did a beautiful job. The crew was incredibly professional and considerate. They did an amazing job of cleaning up before they left, and I never found a single nail or piece of debris in the yard. I was really worried about this because we have kids and pets that could get hurt stepping on nails. Their representative, Garret H., presented a thorough plan for completing the work, assured us that he would coordinate with our insurance company as much as we required, and had a plan that would get the work done in just a few weeks. The eRoof bid was also in-line with other bids we had received to do the work. At the same time, we decided to upgrade our gutter system, which was the original one from 1959. The new system we chose included a cover to eliminate the need for gutter cleaning. We also needed to fix our chimney cap, which was falling apart in large chunks. eRoof also gave us competitive pricing for both projects and integrated that work into the overall work plan. The chimney cap replacement was completed first. That work began on a Monday and was finished the next day. The roof replacement happened on Friday, and the gutter system was hung the following Monday. All of the work was completed in an 8-day span. Throughout the process, Garret H. worked closely with our insurance adjuster to ensure that the new roof system met the current code requirements, with the insurance company agreeing to pay for the additional underlayment called for in the code regulations. The work crews were professional, courteous, and respectful of our property. The cleanup left the grounds in good condition.
