The on-board staff are helpful and friendly, and I especially appreciated that the owner is always present to personally oversee the events. While there was a slight hiccup with initial communication, their customer service quickly rectified it. The biggest surprise was the value; what seemed expensive initially proved to be completely justified by the high-quality vessel and seamless experience. The cruise was from 8pm to 11pm and went in and around the Toronto Islands. When we boarded, we were given a card ... ours was silver. When the colour is called, you head for supper. Ours was called last. The pasta ran out just after the only vegetarian on board (one of my friends) got some and some in our party (and those after us) didn't get any. I got the privilege of taking a lunch boat cruise today courtesy of my mom for my birthday because I've always wanted to experience it. To my surprise I thought it would have been a bit better. I thought I would have seen a bit more then the usual center island while the boat traveled along. The whole cruise was about 2 hours which included a buffet style lunch. The lunch included the following: - chicken kebobs ( not much flavour) - beef kebobs ( not much flavour and cooked medium rare so it was a bit chewy) - veggie kebobs (which you only got if you were vegetarian) - salad - bean salad - pita ( which you had to take the whole round (wouls have been better if they were cut into quarters) - rice (plain) - potatoes (tasteless) I mean spices don't cost that much..would it have killed their budget if they had added more salt or garlic or pepper, I mean anything so it wasn't so bland. For the amount of money a person pays it could have been a bit better. The experience itself was pretty relaxing, the music inside was a tad to loud. Would I do it again? Another "venue" I'm having mixed feelings about. For the dinner portion I would give it a solid 3 stars, but for the experience and friendliness of the staff a very good 4 star cruise. Being my first dinner cruise here in Toronto, I don't have anything to compare this experience with, I was there using my Groupon on a public dinner cruise night that was part of the Tall Ships Festival. The Tall Ships did not really play a part in the experience, we drifted past them while they were anchored to the harbor that was it. Seating arrangements were more focused on larger groups, and my friend and I had to share a table for four with another couple, and it was like that for all couples. So I would suggest going in a group of 4, unless you like having your whole conversation overheard. I've attached a picture of my BBQ buffet which really was not that impressive and I was expecting a bit better quality of food. And dessert which happened a long time after dinner ended was lots of fruit, a few chocolate items and small pastries if I remember correctly. There was an endless supply of coffee and tea all evening with a cash bar. I suggest no one should come here for the food. They separate the cruise by 5 groups and call them up for dinner, I'm glad my colour was second and we went as soon as we were called to avoid the long lineup that ensued. There was a dance floor with a mix of top 40 and older favourites, but not a lot of people opted to go dancing and spent most of the time outdoors on either the "roof" deck or the downstairs one. I suggest bringing a sweater as it does get cold and windy. Both me and my friend agreed that spending $60 or however much the ticket was for this experience is not worth it and we were both glad for our $25 Groupons! I will be going for one more Yankee Lady cruise for a lunch buffet as part of the Air Show in September and will have another review up for that! read more

Last night Teena and I went on a dinner cruise around Toronto harbour aboard the Yankee Lady III. It was a great way to start our vacation. Like most on the boat, we made sure that we were on time. The cruise was to leave at 7:30 and the company asked that everyone arrive early and boarding would begin at 7. There was an engagement party that was late, and the company, instead of giving 5 minutes grace, which would be reasonable, instead waited almost a half hour for them. We watched them arrive, clearly they all were at a bar and let time get away. If I were cruise owner I would have left them on shore. They did not play by the rules, instead the company made everyone else wait. More frustration when it came time to line up for supper. The late people got first crack at the food. What the hell is up with that! By the time our tickets were called, the white meat chicken was gone, and Teena said her pasta was cold. Thanks Yankee Lady for catering and pandering to to these late idiots. Thing is, for these people, the cruise is a one off thing. Dinner cruises are something Teena and I love doing and they have lost what would be a repeat client to look after those assholes. Good work Yankee Lady! I will stay the staff was great and the views were spectacular. We lost almost a half hour of sailing in the sunlight and then the company had the audacity to end the cruise right on time at 10:30. Advertised as a 3 hour cruise we had just a 2 and a half hour one, basically again to cater to late assholes. I hate late assholes. The world should not revolve around them. The boat itself is a decent sized boat, however the decor and inside of the boat is so lackluster. Very dingy. We were the last card to be called up, it took an hour to finally get our food while everyone else got to chow down. The food was so bad, so bland. It's like they just bought all the sides and chicken pre-made from a random grocery store and served it to us. I thought the ice cream bar would compensate for it, but nope. Just plain ol' vanilla, strawberry and chocolate with some standard toppings. I would have much rather pay for a real dinner else where because the cruise itself wasn't a fantastic view either really. We just went around the Toronto Islands. Well I was Aboard the Yankee Lady yesturday , For a company booze cruise type of event . $50 got us a steak dinner and the boat for about 4 hours 830pm to 12am....the drinks were little on the pricey side ..I belive 4 shots and a beer were like $40 So much for a booze cruise lol hello bank machine cruise ...it turned out to be a very expensive night .. The boat was decent sized ...it wasn't very nice I mean the tables and decor were kinda 80s old banquet hall looking and there really wasn't much to it . I was also dissapointed that we just went in circles around toronto island and never made it out on the real lake lol ....but i guess that be more money what do I know ...in the end i probably wouldn't do it again unless my freinds begged me ..but then I'd begg them to just go to a bar downtown instead so I'm not stuck on the boat for 4 hours . read more

We went on a boat cruise last night for a celebration of birthday/anniversary party. We had a party of 15 people. The DJ, my friend had contact with said he had a reserved table for us & he doesn't know what happened. So we had no table to eat our dinner. The staff should have reinforced these rules & have enough seating for people or have more of a dance floor! Maybe more seating in bottom floor would help or outside area. The only real place to dance is the main area or outside. The food was great; jerk pork & chicken, rice, salad & pasta. The drinks are over priced, at least had water. The music was great also. I would have rated it higher if we had proper seating area to eat our dinner! We should have been treated better with such a huge party! read more

I bought a Groupon for one of their Wednesday night themed cruise. Our cruise was for the 50s. There were so many things to enjoy about this cruise. First, the service is incredible. I had mistakenly only booked one of my tickets for the cruise. They contacted me as soon as they noticed my mistake and made sure that both tickets were booked. Second, I loved that the cruise goes through the Toronto Islands. I couldn't have picked a more beautiful and better way to see them as we cruised through them at sunset. Third, I appreciated that they allowed you to get seconds for dinner. No one was a bigger fan of this than my husband. For dinner, they had chicken and steak (you could get both), salad, potato wedges, and pasta salad. I thought it was pretty good for a buffet (nothing incredible, but I did appreciate that the chicken was seasoned pretty well). For dessert, they had a table of fruit, brownies, and cookies. In terms of the theme, they played all of my favorite songs from the 50s. They also had a really good Elvis impersonator. Considering that the cruise was 3 hours long, I thought it was a great value. My only recommendation would be that their dance floor could be bigger. In sum, I would definitely recommend this cruise to a friend. read more

I bought both my parents and inlaws a Groupon for a lunch cruise for $30 back in December as a Christmas gift. They took their cruise on July 7 2012. They had quite the time and were very impressed, both my parents and inlaws usually find something to complain about but they themselves were shocked that they had absolutely nothing to complain about. They were very impressed with the overall quality of the food, the variety of breads, variety of salds (crab, pasta) and even the stuffed chicken all great. The only comment they made was they did not realize it was a buffet with only one trip and did not fill up their plate as they thought they could come back. They also mentioned that your seats were assigned when purchased, they would have requested the upper deck. They liked the lunch cruise so much they suggested they want to try the dinner cruise next with a larger group. read more

My Husband and I went on a Saturday Lunch cruise on a Yankee Lady boat this summer. We spent a nice Saturday afternoon cruise on the one of the Yankee lady boats. I must say the weather that weekend was dark and gloomy and it was raining the entire time. So we didn't get to enjoy the outer decks. Aside from the weather we had a wonderful time! The staff were so pleasant, and sitting on the top seated deck we were able to get a nice view of the harbor. Lunch was great, the burgers were my favorite, so juicy and succulent. The cruise felt a little long, perhaps this is because we weren't able to take advantage of the outer decks due to the weather. Over all it was a nice time. If you're going with your partner I can guarantee you'll be able to spend some good quality time on the boat. I would definitely do this again, maybe even with a larger group. I bought a Groupon and went on a lunch cruise this fall. It was a little rainy and no longer summer so I think fewer people came than otherwise would. It didn't take long to get our food and I enjoyed all the salads, chicken skewers and burgers. It wasn't quite restaurant quality but very good considering the price and that you get a cruise with it. We went around the Toronto islands which we enjoyed because there was lots to see and even some animals. Extremely Poor Customer Service! My friend organized an event "Deja Vu Yacht Cruise" on Saturday, Aug 15, 2015. He hired a caterer for the Thai Buffet provided on the cruise. We had paid $60 each for this event. After having received a plate of food (which I didn't get enough), I went back since I had not eaten enough and was still hungry. I was rudely told by Stacy to wait until the staff had been fed then I can go for seconds. I even got the organizer to allow me to go for seconds but once again was told to wait until all staff was fed. This is the first time that I heard of such a thing. I believe that staff should focus on customer service and making sure the passengers are safe while on board and not focusing on eating during mid-event of a 4 hour cruise. There must be a safety policy in place for staff not to eat during events. Out of courtesy the guests should have as much food as there is available and then staff can have what is left. When I finally got "seconds", the security guard Steve humiliated me in public and was condescending by telling me that I shouldn't have given them such a hard time. I then e-mailed the company of what happened and they were not apologetic whatsoever and clearly stated that it's in the contract for staff to be fed during a cruise even if the organizer was the one who provided a caterer as part of our cost. To add insult to injury, they told me that buffet does not mean "all you can eat" buffet. I would never deal with this company if you want to plan an event on a yacht in Toronto. They don't care about the customers. read more

Unfriendly, abrasive staff! We chartered this boat for a 300-person afternoon party and will not do it again. They said the boat would be available from 10.00 am, we were there at 9.50 and no one showed up until 10.30 am. Drinks are very expensive, the captain was always angry and abrasive and the boat cut our cruise time short by half-hour, saying that they needed the half-hour to ensure everyone got off the boat-but we could have stayed on the boat for the half hour while it was at the dock. This did not add up, because they were hustling our people off the boat saying that they had another evening event to prepare for. Definitely not getting our business again. read more

Saturday June 30th, 2012 Disco Cruise. First and Last time going on your Disco Cruise. You should have called it The Rap, Reggae, Hip Hop With A Little Bit Of Disco Cruise. If I had of known you were playing all that Garbage music, I would never have Wasted my hard earned money on it!!! First of all, you played most of your garbage hip hop and shit most of the night. Out of the hours on your ship, (which was hot, muggy and Very uncomfortable to be in), you played about 90 minutes of disco. When I tried to request some disco form the Bee Gees, I was pretty well told to go to hell and was laughed at. Were The Bee Gees not the guys who pretty well started the Disco revolution??? I think so! Also, there was hardly Any half decent beer to drink. You had No Bud, And the rest of the beer was shit! I was hardly able to drink much at all! Canadian and Coors Light were the only beer that was local. At $6 a can! WHAT A JOKE!!!!! You're company is a joke! So for 2 and a half hours we were stuck on your boat with not much to do or drink. We were Forced to listen to the Absolutely SHIT music you played!!! Talk about mis advertisement!!! The only thing that was half decent was the little bit of food that was offered. The yaught looked great. My bosses rented the boat for a boat party for our business. We had medical cannabis patients on board. After telling us we could smoke cigarettes on the top deck they told us that the medical patients couldn't smoke up their. We argued that the new Smoke free Ontario bill includes cannabis with tobacco. So anywhere you cannot smoke cigarettes you can't smoke cannabis, and any where you CAN, you can. So that means we could smoke up there. We wanted to comply but THEN security told us we can keep our prescription meds as long as they have a bottle but they would take our cannabis even though it's a preseiption in a bottle too! It's a violation of our charter rights, and EXTREMELY ILLEGAL. And stealing!!!! They violated our rights and took away out freedoms as people. (Extremely ILLEGAL) And the fact that they had security on. Our private cruise was annoying in the first place. If I'm paying for the damn boat you sure as hell are not searching me. Everyone was very rude and stand off ish and again what they did was extremely illegal and disgusting. People could have had a medical emergency on that boat if they didn't let us bring our meds. After we all started yelling that it's illegal and what they are doing is violating and illegal. The captain proceeded to cancel the entire cruise which was paid for, and people had been waiting two hours. Not even sure if he had the authority to cancel the cruise. But this company is so inprofesional. Again boat was beautiful, staff were rude and they will violate your rights!!!!!!! TEN THUMBS DOWN TO AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have cancer and I got treated like scum and could not bring my medicine. Some of us may file a law suit that's how violated and disrespected we felt.
