If I could do zero stars, or negative 20 I would. Worst experience of my life when it comes to camping. Owner, Matt Evans, is coward who will take all your money, but refuses to communicate to paying customers on their second homes. Free WIFI is a joke. He advertised as Fast Free WIFI, but when anyone would message him regarding it not working, he refused to answer. I believe his advertisement now is that the pool is arriving soon. You will have a better chance seeing pigs fly before that happens. And don't bother asking for an update on the pool or WIFI or you will be fined $20.00.  He attempted an inflatable waterslide in leu of no pool. This thing was up maybe 3 times throughout the whole summer. Not to mention it was sitting on a pile of weeds and cockleburs. These poor kids had miserable pain after this awesome waterslide!! The playground is basically a land of misfit parts. It's about halfway put together and the other parts have been laying on a piece of plywood along with screws, nuts & bolts for kids to eat or just throw around for fun! My 3-year-old had a blast throwing them all over every weekend!  And the turf that I assume is supposed to be under it, is still rolled up. Not sure why he doesn't just finish that project? I can confirm when I pulled my camper out of there on Oct 13th, it still was in this same condition. He has zero follow through on things. He has an event center that is locked most of the time and the vending machines eat your money. We had the camp manager tell my husband that he doesn't need to be nice to anyone. I texted Matt Evans asking him to call me when it worked for him because I wanted to discuss his camp managers behavior. I didn't want to text or email because tones can get lost, and I wanted him to hear the whole story. He wouldn't respond back to me, I resent the message a time or two and he finally responded to me stating all non-emergency comments must be submitted by email and he doesn't have time to talk to campers. I reminded him that I did not ask him to call me right now, I asked him to call me when he had a chance. I ended up emailing him and I was then advised text/emails/calls are not allowed, and if we did, we would be fined $20.00. Communication is the KEY to running a successful business. I know several people who really didn't care about the pool or WIFI, it was the fact that he responded in such a way or lack of, when people did ask. He obviously needs to hire some sort of HR person to handle his calls/text and emails because he has zero social and communication skills. He continually threatened people with fines for all sorts of random things. Oh, and he also charges more than the electrical company does for electric. He is only in this for the money, not to build a community for people to camp. I could go on and on with more detail, but campers reading this, PLEASE do you research and do not give this man any of your money. I do expect him to comment on this post and turn it around and how it's our fault blah blah blah...If anyone wants proof of his horrible ways of talking to people, please feel free to email me. Lacking customer service skills. Terrible at communicating with campers. Will issue "civil fines" that he has in his 12 page contract that his lawyer in his town hall meeting laughed about and said he wasn't even sure how he could or was enforcing. All around the worst camping summer I've experienced. Do Not Recommend any of his 3 sites Yankton RV, Paramount, or Ryken! Worst summer camping we have ever experienced. Great place to get away and relax with the family. Nice size lots. Clubhouse with showers and washer dryers to use. Family activities throughout the season. Dog friendly. I would highly recommend and look forward to each year opening day to start making more memories. read more

This is our 4 th year at this park. They have never opened on opening day yet. Always some excuse. This year it's because the roads are wet. I drove out there. The roads are bone dry. So we get screwed out of another week this year. read more

Would give this place a 0 if they had it. This place was an absolute nightmare to camp at. The owner is a tyrant and bully. Complain, owner will threaten, fine, and harass you. He will nickel and dime you every chance he can. If you ask questions on why things that were promised or in the contract are not done he will fine you. We were here for 2 years with the promise of a pool, playground, and paid for extra parking that were never delivered. Could not be happier to leave this hole. Unfortunately the other campers were wonderful but we could not take the owner another year longer. Just horrible and camp here at your own risk. read more

Awful communication from owner. We never called him or reached out to him outside of business hours. He actually called/text us at 930pm one night in hopes of us taking down a post on a fb page where other campers were upset with him (photo attached). Fees are irrational, all owner needs to do is simply reach out and talk to his paying customers but he refuses to do so unless it benefits him. We did not want to renew a contract with this campground yet he is saying in a different review that he couldn't allow us to stay there (photo attached). All rules were followed, he is trying to make himself look good. Maybe a rule that one of our friends broke was that part of the garbage bag was sticking out of the garbage (even though the lid fit). Weeds are everywhere, we were told by owner the weekend before July 4th that they would be sprayed and by him personally. Now our "gravel parking pad", is full of weeds and we had to take care the lawn on our own. We set out a sprinkler but it was moved every time the manager came around to mow and was never put back (was actually spraying our neighbors camper since they didn't put it where we left it in order to grow some grass). Waterslide was only up half the time he said he would be. Pool was planned over a year ago yet its still not in. We have been there for two years, not three. Last year that was not one single community activity. This year the first one was put on by other campers and he offered to pay for the meat, then asked for all the un used meat back. Oh and he didn't show up at the party. I haven't attended any others that may have been set up. Park manager told someone in our group that he "doesn't have to be nice to anyone", when he was asked why he was yelling at our kids. Community room not open on time most days. Playground just got set up with bolts and screws hanging around for weeks for little ones to play with. Still a dirt pile under the playground. No lazy river, pool, wifi, storm shelter, large fire pit or any of the things he advertises. Large lots but they do come with a price of an awful owner, fees, and no communication when you have questions. You get what you pay for, do you research and even reach out to those who have left reviews to ask their opinion before you sign anything. This park has potential if the owner would step up and realize he is in the customer service industry and not in a dictator position. His way or no way. Im sure he will respond to this review saying," im sorry you feel that way" and find something to say in order to blame this bad review on me, since that's what he has been doing. If only he could step up to the plate, take accountability for his actions and apologize for treating his campers with such disrespect. To the owner: we all have families and work during the day like you. Why couldn't you answer your emails or texts, calls, or "drop box notes" during those "work hours" to avoid all of these problems? Communication is critical when running a business. How is it okay to NOT answer questions or concerns DURING business hours? Just because you don't feel like the questions are valid or essential, they are your paying customers. Directions from Tana were to send the same email everyday until the question was answered. Yet when a friend did this, he never answered her questions but instead replied back saying, do not call, text or email me or you will get a $20 fine. This campground could be great if they get new ownership who actually know how to treat people with respect and run a business. Plenty of campers from Rykens, Paramount, and Yankton RV park have moved on to different parks due to how this season went (im sure owner will deny that too). Check around with the other campgrounds in the area and im sure they will tell you they have campers that have moved to their campground due to disrespect and no communication from these three campsites. Hopefully owner will take all these bad reviews and change things for the new and upcoming campers so they can enjoy their camping experience. read more
