God knows my family and I have experienced both but as for this one ( Doug ), I can't say enough about him or the results he gets. Mind you, he's super busy and it was frustrating at times, but regardless, he took care of the case and got better results than I feel any attorney could have possibly gotten. He was thorough, his price was fair, he's super professional and he knows Texas law in and out. It's important to know however, that in Montgomery County, it's as much as who you know as what you know. Doug is very connected in what I consider one of the toughest counties in the state, if not the country. One where the good ole' boy and wild west reputations definitely do exist. I turned in the documents needed for the case on November 2021, I called multiple times to ask about the next steps and I didn't get an answer until I filed a complaint. My company said he wasn't listed as family law and shocked that he took my case. He convinced me to keep him instead of hiring someone else. Moving forward, we got the court date set and the judge approved the adoption. I was told that his office will get me several copies of the certified documents, but after a month of waiting, nothing happened. I called and his paralegal Ashley every week to ask for the status, but couldn't get me an answer. I went to the courthouse myself and they said the judge hasn't signed the final document and that only Ashley or someone from Mr. Kemp's office can request it. I called to let Mr. Kemp know, but he said Ashley quit and I quote, he said "I don't know the ins and outs of how to go from here." I asked him to go to the courthouse and request to unseal the case because he's the only one authorized to do so and he told me , "you'll have to hire another lawyer. Good luck." I paid another lawyer to pick up where his office left off and found out that Kemp Law Firm had other documents that he didn't even submit. He hires paralegals to do the work because he doesn't know how to do it. However for some reason, his paralegals keeps quitting on him. He went through 3 paralegals from the time I hired him from my case up to the time he told me good luck. I was going to hire him for 2 other cases, but better to go somewhere else.
