For 1800s Empire Period Sevres amphorae, a pair of urns, we got $111 BEFORE Max's 30% cut and for MCM Eames-style loungers we got just under $50 for the pair. We would not use this as a selling platform again and would caution those thinking to sell on MaxSold that it is best for clearing out a home or a garage sale type of offering of lower-end items or items that have little to no value to the seller.

The company seemed small and new.  We didn't think we stood a chance that they'd be interested.  We were wrong. The Root Cellar Estate Sale Company has been a blessing in our lives.  Heather and Kirk are nothing short of amazing miracle workers.  They handled over 2,000 square feet of "stuff" and transformed it into a giant welcoming space with boutique and general store vibes.  The atmosphere of the sales seemed cozy and welcoming. The presentation on social media was right on par with today's influencer standards.  The organization and timeliness of Heather, Kirk, and their entire crew were impressive.  Communication could not have been better.  Most importantly, they treated us with kindness and respect and were careful to approach this sensitive situation with gentleness and grace.   I would highly recommend this company.  I am confident they can conquer even the larger, oddest jobs and do it with style.  In one of the toughest parts of our life, they helped to make one part just a little bit easier and we are grateful.

Located just off Peach Street about 1 1/2 miles from I-90 I found Mel & Tee's easy enough. The front half of the store is mainly a hobby shop, some cool stuff but not what I was looking for. Luckily there is a door to the back of the store which is stuffed with a wide variety of items, collectibles, furniture, home goods and enough to keep you looking for a little while. For me the only item that interested me was a vintage wood stick puppet from Java/Indonesia. The puppet stood out as a very unique and high-quality item, although it did have a bit of damage to one of the hands. The price was about right, but a bit more then I wanted to spend. Luckily I started talking to the very nice lady at the register and she said that they were willing to deal on the item. I made a bid at the lower end of what I thought was fair and she accepted. I ended up getting a great one-of-a-kind item at great price. If you are looking to check out a local thrift store in Erie, Pa. I would suggest giving Mel & Tee's a try, not the biggest place but the fun is finding something you never expected; also really nice when you can negotiate a bit to get what you want.
