The 3 worst sales I have been to were all run by KD'S .the last one in algonac. Was definitely the worst mouse dropping all over the place the smell was horrible, didn't do anything to clean up or open windows for fresh air. Where do I even start...Kathy is a con-woman plain and simple. Anyone who signs a contract with you saying that they will hold an estate sale at your residence, then removes things from the house without inventorying anything, and then just calls and says she is no longer going to have the sale once you are already moved out of town and can't really do anything about it, is not the person that you want handling your belongings, especially if you are grieving. Here are some things that were not okay: taking items out with inventorying them or telling us exactly what she removed. When we confronted her about not having the sale and wanting everything put back in the house and asked for an inventory of what had been removed, she wrote an inventory of the things she brought back including two places where she wrote "and miscellaneous." Miscellaneous. On an inventory list. It was useless anyway, what there should have been is a list of items removed from the home, not returned. A large item went missing and she did not report it to the police. Why not unless...1) you took it, 2) you know you took it, 3) you literally didn't notice it was gone, or 4) you just don't care. Whichever the reason, an important item disappeared and was not recovered. Kathy got us in touch with a woman who specialized in gun sales, making sure everything is legal, as well as a real estate agent she recommended. Things really started to go sideways when we would text the realtor a concern and Kathy would return the text. That's when we found out that the three of them, Kathy, Kim and Pam all worked together. These weren't helpful, friendly recommendations, this was a play for total control over everything. We ended up switching to another company, having a sale and making a few thousand dollars. DO NOT USE KD! They are well known in the area and I feel like they might have been really great once, until Kathy realized that fleecing people was a much easier way to make money. read more

I specifically look for KD Estate Sales when I am surfing the estate sales in my area. I have been a customer of theirs for years. I know that the products that she is selling are priced fairly, and that she, and her staff are always pleasant and courteous to work with. Kathy is very knowledgeable about anitques, and knows the ins and outs of estate sales. The sales are run smoothly, and effeciently. I look forward to when Kathy and I can share a story or two when we see each other. I would use her company if I needed to, right now I'm good. read more

Their team is very well organized, and very quick. I'm getting things done. The sale went fantastic and even made recommendations for the rest of the cleanup on the home. KD's was very transparent on their policies and the team worked hard to support selling all items. At end of sale, they provided options for further support and were very respectful of the urgency, but goal to get the greatest value for the client. We have also bough and visited sales of KD's and were always treated fair. I have dealt with several other good companies in the area. My main appreciation has been her team and their willingness to help me get answers and be treated fairly. KD's Estate Sale Team is amazing. The hardest working, most honest and efficient crew to help through a difficult time. We were somewhat distraught over the loss of our parents and spent days wandering through the house and not being effective. What do we do? Particularly disturbing was the fact that we were unable to find some very small, meaningful and expensive items for which, my mother-in-law had specific directives. When we hired KD's crew to come in, I expressed our sadness by this frustration. Kathy knew she couldn't guarantee that they would find them (rings) but she said they would go through everything. That they did! 6 tiny rings lost in 50 years worth of living. They were found by her crew, returned to us to pass on to our daughters. KD's crew is amazing. They turned the parent's home into a store in one day after we had spent so much time just lost in the process, and held a very efficiently run Estate Sale. My seller is from out of state and needed help with an estate sale and removing remaining contents from condo. Kathy from KD's Estate Sales and her staff went over and above to make this happen. They were always one step ahead in taking care of our needs. This was my clients mother's home. All of her belongings were displayed so beautifully. Had she been able to be there she would have been so pleased. It was the dead of winter. I was told beware as the home would be filthy by the time they were done from all the people tracking thru the house. When we sold our home, Kathy was exceptional in organizing, pricing, advertising, and sales. She was remarkable and outstanding in every respect. After the movers took our belongings, the home was turned over to Kathy and her staff in our absence. She sent photos as the sale progressed and kept us fully informed.
