There are times in our lives when we are simply lost and confused. And if that were not enough, we are forced to make huge life-altering decisions based on not much more than a "gut feeling" while we are under a tremendous amount of emotional stress due to a legal issue. For the first time ever, I got into a car accident. I was driving on the highway, traveling Northbound, when I was suddenly t-boned by a car traveling eastbound. The driver of that vehicle decided not to yield to traffic and came at me at 50 miles per hour. Both my passenger and I experienced severe whiplash. My passenger ended up having a fractured wrist, since she saw the car coming at us and tried to brace herself. We both ended up going to the hospital. I was released 2 hours later, but my friend was there all night, as emergency personnel ended up bracing her wrist. My 2014 car ended up being a total loss. I was constantly getting called by both insurance companies. The other driver's insurance, kept calling me and telling me to settle with them that they had my best interest at mind and I would be doing the right thing by signing the paperwork. That is when I realized that I better speak to an attorney for advice. I am so glad I did!! Turns out the Insurance company didn't want me to continue getting medical treatment so that they didn't have to pay for any pain and suffering and the "quick settlement" would basically get rid of me.
