If you're able to, it's not a bad idea to pay the $25 for the ticket to reserve a table, but if they are all already reserved - just coming to the bar to enjoy the show is perfectly fine too (and easier in some ways since you can leave at your leisure). The venue is intimate (no bad seats) and comfortable (cup holders for your drinks at your seat!). The staff is friendly and helpful. Single tickets are a bit pricey, but season tickets offer a significant discount and you get a discount on any additional tickets you purchase. Arrive early if you want to get a drink. There's no dedicated bar, and you have to wait in line at the bar in the adjoining restaurant.

The interior of the theater is ornate, with a beguiling ceiling of stars, lending itself to a feeling of endless night, which was the perfect backdrop to the Tori Amos concert I saw the other night. I felt practically spellbound in my seat (made for people of the past, of a smaller statue, so perfect for yours, truly). I appreciate bathrooms on every level (you exit the theater to a hallway, so sound is protected) and they are spotless. I didn't use the concessions, but these are on every level as well. Getting in was a breeze, and staff is polite and respectful so you don't feel like you're getting frisked or reprimanded. I loved it here so much, I feel compelled to return sooner rather than later, even though I don't go to shows a lot. Now I'm inspired!

While this is not that . . . it's perfect for New Orleans and the south and has it's own flavor. I loved the show here! Madame Kennedy was the perfect emcee (and also put on a wicked black light bubble show). Some acts were sexy and seductive. Some acts were acrobatic and martial arts based, as Madame Kennedy said, "I'm sure someone is missing their anime character somewhere." There were hula hoops, feathers, and grinders! One act was a woman who put a grinder against a metal plate on her belt and sparks flew everywhere! I also saw my first (as far as I can remember) burlesque by a transgender man. It was so much fun! We did the reserved tickets, so we got a table right up front. There isn't a bad seat in the house, but I really prefer being in the center of the action. Doors open at 6:30 for a 7 PM show, but ours was running late (we didn't mind). They have a basic bar with decent prices. They also do dance classes, varying show themes, comedy routines, and more. So you'll always be able to see something different.

Bathroom facilities for the family to use to avoid running around the corner to Auntie Lynn house (lol). Lots of families gathered around the Carver dancing, singing and seeing people they had not seen since last Mardi Gras day. But there is more to it. You can host a private party there or use it t for meetings. It has a large stage to allow events with presentations or awards and ceremonies. Small rooms for intimate meetings as well. It has a libation area and you can cater events too. I am just happy to see an event hall in my old neighborhood

Stepping into the Carver Theater is like stepping into New Orleans history. It feels like you are back in time when you are in this building. There is a main front room with a big floor and lots of space and a stage area that hosts performers, and in the back is a smaller area with a bar where small bands sometimes perform. As Helen said, they host all kinds of shows from stand up comedy to bounce nights and jazz performances. It's also a rentable event space that not a lot of people know about, so if you're looking to have a wedding reception in a unique place, this might be the spot for you.

He accommodated every need we had. The original day we planned to have the parade ended up storming. I called him the same day to see if we could move the parade to the next day, and he did it no problem. That usually NEVER happens especially on the same day to change it to the next day. That being said it was a weekday so I'm sure it was easier to change it, but Carl knew exactly who to call to change the permits and have the police approve the route. He went above and beyond to help make our parade and experience the best. We had stilt walkers, revelers, and a jazz band walk with us. They were so professional and everyone had so much fun! I could not have enough good things to say about Carl. If I could give 6 stars I would! You will not be disappointed when you work with Carl Mack Presents.
