First, the BS of buying a ticket to have it emailed is just annoying. Person selling the tickets needing to get name, email, zip just to sell a ticket slows everything up, then waiting to get the email...then filling out a completely useless waiver. It would be nice if someone did some pest control. We were absolutely ripped apart by fleas or mosquitos or chiggers or something waiting to purchase tickets; which also made the whole annoying process more irritating. Once in line, things were better. There's no kind of entertainment like line actors or even a video screen so dull but, the line moved pretty quickly and we only had about an hour wait. The sets were really well done and the atmosphere was great. The make up was terrible. Several times I was looking at an actor and just thinking 'what is going on with your face'. I know this was opening weekend so maybe they just haven't settled into their roles yet but the acting was also pretty bad. Many seemed to think the best way to scare people was just standing in front of them and screaming. One girl actually said 'help me'. Overall I enjoyed it. read more

So it's about $30 for a basic entry ticket (before fees) but as you pre-purchase the tickets online there is add-on after add-on offer which could essentially double the ticket price. I don't have a lot of experience with haunted houses etc but this was fairly well done from a structural point of view. The buildings and maze and props all well done, actors were fine not great. What I don't like beyond the add-on pricing was the fact we got here as they opened on a slow Tuesday night before just before Halloween. They coral you into different lines depending on the level of ticket you get. The basic entry had only about 50 people in front of us. Even though nobody was in the fast pass lines they didn't send people in efficiently or speedily. They made people wait and what should have take 5-10 minute took 45 min +. No bathroom options once you get inside. If you need to go as I didn't not expecting that wait for so few people you need to back out through the line to the porta potty outside and then swim your wave back through the line which at that point had grown 4x due to their inefficiency . Apparently they are trying to prove a point if you don't spend up to any of the higher price points they WILL make you wait even if there are no fast pass ticket holders and no backup. Once inside it probably only takes about 15-20 minutes to go through. Parking while easy the night we went but unorganized and people were parking behind cars to where they couldn't get out so be mindful how you park. Was it fun? MEH it was ok. Was I scared? Not at all, but got a laugh out of it. Overall it's too expensive, not well organized and punish you if you don't fast pass. I wouldn't return. read more

I think this makes for a great date night or even family fun. I've been to 13th gate and to be honest my 14yr old whom we had to get exited in at 13th gate while she still screamed a lot she made it through the entire event. I thought it was pretty good too but if you are looking for extreme fright this isn't it. I didn't do the sensory overload or escape room but I'm sure they would be fun to. I went for Krampus .. was it worth $29.99? Yes. If I paid more I would say no. Would I go again? Yes. Krampus was very friendly and loved taking pictures with people. Hope this helps! read more

I am sadly super disappointed in this year's performance. Hoping it was just a bad night that we went. Last year was 10/10 all around. We went on a Saturday night at 6:45. Entered haunt at 8:25. It's a long wait but expected. Didn't mind too much. But unfortunately This time we noticed barely any actors in any of the rooms. Especially the clown room (my fave) had two actors right when we entered and that was all. Another room I encountered a woman charging at me, but instead of jumping to the side like most of them do, we ended up chest to chest as she yelled in my face for quite some time. Didn't appreciate the long contact like that, especially when it felt like she was trying to intimidate me. The next actress flat out asked me if I was drunk and wanted to get white girl wasted? Wasn't drunk and was confused as to how that had anything to do with my haunt experience? Really takes away from the entire thing when an actress is talking about being white girl wasted. Idk hated that a lot. We also got the phobia room and I felt it was extremely misleading. The photo online shows an image of people wearing some type of glasses in a room and are scared. So we figured it was maybe a pitch black room and had to crawl through spaces as it says it's an extremely physical escape room. It truly wasn't at all. And also wasn't dark at all. One of the boxes wasn't even lit and we weren't able to complete it to get the number we needed. Lastly, the line for merch was insanity. Multiple people kept cutting and when me and others brought it to the persons attention that numerous people were cutting, she kept saying we were right and there is only one line but still proceeded to help people that we pointed out were cutting. Once I got to the window, another couple walked up and completely stepped in front of me and she continued to speak to them even though they cut me off and clearly was cutting in front. I ended up leaving without purchasing a single thing. But like I said, hope it's an off night. Was just really disappointed as we drove 1.5 hours for my bday weekend. read more

(4.5 stars but rounding up) I'm a huge fan of 13th floor productions and am one of those horror fanatics who loves purposely putting them in situations to scare the ish out of them. When I heard 13th floor productions was in New Orleans, I was giddy with joy. NON (New Orleans Nightmare) was recently taken over by 13th floor which I am well aware of because of their AMAZING haunted productions in San Antonio. I used to go every year when living back in Texas. Nightmare for 2019 had three different rooms and your ticket includes entry into all of them. Keep in mind though you can't take your time as they're all back-to-back. Sorry y'all no time to catch your breath haha. The trippiest one was the clown zone which was with 3d glasses and I kept losing grip because of all the mental games. At one point I didn't realize a "clown" painting was the real thing until it popped out at me. For those of you who need a bit of liquid courage they have a bar outside and even a few porter potties. I recommend trying to go because the attraction itself will last about 30 minutes. read more

We visited last night for the first time. We're avid Mortuary fans and decided to try something different this year. And we had a great time. Being able to enter the haunt with just our group was great and they spaced the groups out enough that we never ran into any others. It really adds to the creep factor. The actors were all on point and eager to scare, without it feeling too desperate. And the set designs were very impressive and well thought out. My only complaint is there were some points where it felt more actors would have been appreciated, but over all it was a great night. read more

The character actors were engaging, believable and further made the experience unforgettable. I'm one of those people who clearly didn't get the memo that house of shock was no longer a thing! So, I decided to come here last week. I assumed it would be the same haunted house under a new name but it is not. I got the fast pass ticket instead of the skip the line ticket because it used to be so much fun watching the live show when it was house of shock. There is no live show now and there's trivia on a tv screen but after about 5-10 minutes the questions start repeating. There is a bar at this new haunted house though! They only had 1 bartender working each line so after about 20-25 minutes I ended up leaving the line. I think it would be easier if they only sold premixed drinks or canned/bottled drinks because them making cocktails was taking super long. The actual haunted house is longer than I remember but there were several parts of the haunted house where there were no workers at all. I'm guessing due to Covid possibly making them short staffed. It was still fun none the less but it was super dark in some places and it was causing confusion on which way to keep walking. The old iconic finale with the chainsaws is no longer and the ending of the haunted house really left me wanting more and feeling like that couldn't possibly be the end. The attraction itself was very enjoyable and it was at a good level of horror that everyone could enjoy. The sets had a decent variety of designs and the actors kept things interesting and moving. It lasted a good time frame too but i feel like there could have been something more grand at the end of it all. There wasn't a big final scare or moment, it kind of abruptly ended. around the midsection, there is a big animatronic dragon, i thought it was very cool and it was very well engineered. The biggest drawback was the wait. First off, the difference between fast pass and general admission seems to be very minimal. I bought fast pass tickets because the description said you wait only 1/3 or the general admission time. I ended up waiting approximately 2 hours or so. There is a line for security when you first get there, you go through a metal detector and they check bags, but I feel like they could have checked more thoroughly. The guy that checked my bag literally glanced in it and said I was good. Of course I'm not bringing anything illegal or any type of weapons or anything, but the world is so violent and corrupt now I wouldn't be surprised if someone else would come in packing heat. After you get checked, there is the 'main line'. this was the worst part and I was really tempted to just leave at some points. There are no smoking signs, but a lot of people either didn't see it or was inconsiderate because plenty people were smoking cigarettes and vaping. All you smell while waiting are cigarettes. That's frustrating, especially for people who might have asthma. Maybe if you go on a good day the wait might not be that bad, but the attraction itself is really good. I just wish there was better security and more organized waits. read more

There are THRONGS of people now behind us, all have paid $30.99 to get in. We should NOT be REQUIRED to purchase a $75 ticket to get into this place. We got here with plenty of time and only about 2 rows of folks ahead of us. Att this point were one row from the door, and I doubt we'll be in by 10pm. TOTAL CRAP. Please. My husband and I recently experienced the Krampus haunted house by the New Orleans Nightmare. It was pretty cool. We are big Krampus fans and am glad that they were able to create a haunted house experience out of this Austrian folk tale. The tickets were priced well and we even splurged and went with the "no wait/VIP" passes, so we wouldn't have to wait in a long line, in case there was one. We arrived a bit early, so we had to wait until the attraction opened, but once it opened, we went it pretty quick. I saw people that brought their children (younger than age 12), when it said that it was not recommended for their age. My daughter is 10 years old and there was no way I would have wanted her to go to this. Before starting, we got a photo op with a Krampus statue... fun! Then, we were on our way. There was another couple that was in our entry group, so it made it a bit more comforting. I remembered people screaming in my face and in my ear the most. The thing that scared me the most were people that crawled on the floor and rose up to scare me. All-in-all, it was good, but I probably wouldn't do it again. Been there... done that. This was a pop-up installation that goes to different cities during the holidays, so I have a feeling it will be the same each year with a few minor tweaks. I emailed twice about this over a 1 month 1/2 and til now, I have received no response. Unfortunately I will not be getting a refund for the 156$ I spent because THEY DONT REFUND. Not for the faint at heart, like not at all! You need to especially stay away if you cannot tolerate paid employees who are dressed up like hellishly creepy demented anti-Christmas characters who are physically in your personal space while screaming up in your face! But if your favorite holiday is Halloween and you think Christmas is definitely a bit too boring, Krampus just might be what you need to fulfill your horrifically spooky cravings. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if they skip the pop-up Krampaus extravaganza in 2020, due to it being the year 2020 and an asteroid may very well hit the earth. In any case, if it does open for business this year I would probably buy tickets, and just expect a rare case of haunted house physical distancing, which may not necessarily be that terrible of a thing. read more

I have been to plenty of Haunts in my day, and have even volunteered to a handful of them as a scare actor, but I have never seen a place this well marketed and designed to have such mismanagement and poor planning when it comes to the guests. After waiting in line for about 4 hours past our slotted time, my group and I were funneled from the dark empty street to the single metal detector and single security guard which was laughable at most. We were told to hold out belongings above our head and to walk through. That was it, there was no further inspection of our person or property, therefore it would have been quite easy to sneak something malicious in (which worries me). Proceeding this we moved on to the ticket scanned line which was being facilitated by 2 people (and took an additional hour to get through) to get in the "courtyard" where we got to stand in...you guessed it, yet another long line taking about 40 minutes to get through this time before we were finally able to go into the attraction. If it wasn't apparent enough, by the time we entered the haunt it became clear that The New Orleans Nightmare Crew was obviously understaffed as we only encountered approximately 10 scare actors in the entire experience. The biggest take-away for my group was the obvious love and care put into the interior design, animatronics, and prop/decorations (superb job!) which is the only saving grace to this review granting it a 3/5 stars rather than a 1/5. My only advice to the owners, please develop a system to prevent people from having to wait 5 hours to receive very little gratification by the end of it and please get better security to protect the staff and guests from anyone wishing to do harm for any reason. read more

Waited in line for 2 hours to find they weren't even checking to make sure the fast pass line had fast passes, then people are paying an extra $60 to skip the line and there's no differentiation between general admission and fast pass vs skip the line. Even with the COVID restrictions they still managed to put on a great haunted house. Definitely one of the best I've been to this year.
