I enjoy the crowd, and the age group. Im not a huge fan of the country personally, and how late the country music turns off in the night. Drunk women dancing on the bar I believe is more of a liability than not serving alcohol after 10pm because of Covid-19. If you wanted to swing dance, two-step, waltz...... There was a lot of people there but it's a well known bar on a Saturday night... so of course it's going to be like that (which only added to the fun!) after being in the place for over an hour, i was kicked out for "washing the marks off of my hands". I am 25 years old and they took my ID at the door, claiming that I was underaged. Door guy refused to give my legal ID back to me and made me call the cops "to get [my] fake ID back." Of course, the cops never showed up. Proceeded to make me and my entire group wait outside for 1 hour and 45 minutes. During entire wait outside, the bar refused to give my ID back, and laughed in my face about me waiting for the cops because of the non-emergency number's pattern of not ever showing up. I would have left if I didn't feel like they were going to just give MY ID to the girls they f*** who confuse as women. And of course, the fact that I have a flight to catch tomorrow, which I obviously need my ID for. Finally a creepy guy game out and gave my ID back right before it hit 2 hours of waiting. Bar is located in strip mall where you don't want to be late at night. Everyone but the owner and the one bouncer that looked at my ID admitted that it was real. Presented credit cards, graduation photos, 21st birthday photos on Instagram and Facebook from years ago. Terrible, terrible service. Not to mention the roofie rumors. read more

The only place in town to Country line dance. It was awesome when it was Cactus Annie's. Still good until the young people show up. I haven't been in a while but they used to have free lessons at 7:30pm. Then would play the song that went with the dance later in the night. And it isn't a pickup bar. Just a nice place to meet friends and dance. I visited the YR this past Saturday (June 6, 2019). It didn't get busy until late when a younger crowd showed up. Maybe the older crowd doesn't dance anymore. Idk.. I discovered I have forgotten some of the dances, but I still had fun. Still a great place to dance. I only have 1 criticism. read more

I am a university of Dayton student who loves country and was ready to have a fun night after a hard week of exams. But I took a 30 minute Uber with my friends and one was not allowed in because of grey jogger. Grey joggers. From a business perspective you missed out on 70 dollars of entrance fees and numerous drinks and good reviews to other fellow students. But now, from this unfriendly bouncer, you've turned a poor experience into something I will be sharing with my fellow students. It's a good idea in theory. I have been yelled at multiple times there by the man at the front taking money, last time I went which was Saturday he yelled at me and got in my face. I have never met grown men as rude as some of the people working there. I understand it is a night club but there is absolutely no reason to yell at anyone when one waiting for whole group to get their ID checked or simply having to get a wallet out of the car. It's 4 dollars and hundreds of people going In it's not like you're going to miss out if you have to wait a minute to let someone in. Southern hospitality is not an ideal here. read more

I was cold while in the club, so I put on my ski hat. A bartender with a wrinkled t-shirt and backwards ballcap told me it was 'against their dress policy' for people to wear beanies. I asked why, as he had on a hat, there were many men with ballcaps, and people were wearing large cowboy hats. he replied 'I think it is mostly so people can't wear doo-rags' - which is clearly targeting a particular population and culture. When I replied, 'Oh - so it's a racist policy', he didn't say anything. I don't like to spend money at places that discriminate - hopefully others won't, either. The rest of their 'dress code' policies are also discriminatory (no baggy clothes, no bandanas, etc) with no obvious safety or formal type of standard (ironically, the bouncer had on a hoodie). There is no ban on offensively worded attire, or pajamas, or exposed breasts/midriffs, etc. It discriminates against a class of people to choose certain hats one cannot wear. If you like to support discriminatory businesses where only people who cowboy hats and ballcaps are welcome - this is the place for you. read more

I don't know why this place doesn't have more stars. This place is great. And by the way, this is the first country bar I have been to. I've been wanting to go for like the last year and a half. It's pretty big. They have a few bartenders. A large dance floor. Apparently after a certain time, depending on what the people are doing on the dance floor if there is many, they change the music from country to club like music so people can dance to that too. But for the most part people do like dancing which I don't know how to do so for the longest time I didn't get out there and dance. Not to mention I suck at dancing and I hate dancing in front of people lol. But I'm trying to get over the fear because I love square dancing and anything country. I just don't know how to do it. When we first got there, my friend and I, I got a shot of baileys I think. Then I got a Bahama mamma. And I got another one of those later on. It was so good. But the first guy who made my first Bahama mamma made it better than the second. But that's okay. Eventually I got out there and danced when country music was still on. Then it went to club music. My first experience here was just "meh" and the only thing that made it that decent was that I was with my two best friends. Everyone that worked here, besides the guy that teaches line dancing, was kind of a jerk to put it as nicely as possible. The dance floor was not really happening either and we were here on a Saturday night! I signed my receipt totaling $10 and left a $2 cash tip. What a surprise I had when I got an alert that my credit card had been billed $50! I am now having to dispute this with my bank. I went to this place with a group of law students to celebrate my birthday. I had a cold so did not feel like drinking. After some persuasion from my friends I decided to have two beers. The atmosphere was ok and the people were friendly enough. The next morning I woke up to several texts complaining about being overcharged. Naturally I checked my bank account and noticed a $50 charge from the yellow rose. As it turns out the whole group was overcharged. We all have our receipts and the amounts of the receipts ranged from $8-$24. However, everyone in the group was charged $50. This place is a rip off. If someone talks you into going, use cash. After several failed attempts to call the number for the club I had to dispute the charge through my bank. DO NOT USE A CREDIT CARD AT THE YELLOW ROSE. read more
