Wood ear fungus - deliciously simple
    Kristi H.

First off, thank you Yelp, our CM Katie, and Highland Noodles for sponsoring this event!! tl;dr Slightly salty broth/meat, but still delicious! The wood fungus was also super springy and had a wonderful texture. Service was not amazing, very rushed staff. I came in on Friday night, and it was surprisingly busy. The wait staff seemed to be very rushed and did not have time to welcome me at the desk. I didn't want to bother them if they were in a rush, so after signing myself up at the Yelp waitlist machine they have near the door, I just waited for our table to be ready prior to letting the staff know that I was there for the Yelp Elite Week event. I saw others receive the Yelp chopsticks and lip balm, but I was only handed the sign-in list. I have been to Highland Noodles before, and it is one of my favorite noodle soup places. Unfortunately, this visit's noodle experience fell slightly short of expectations. The medium thin noodles were rather firm for me, and the broth/meat seemed quite salty, though I added some chili oil as well (not sure if that would contribute). The bowl was overall favorable, but not as amazing as my previous experience had been. We also ordered an appetizer of wood fungus, which I love. The dish at Highland Noodles did not disappoint! It was springy and had a very light flavor as expected. 5/5.

The Yelp Elite Event at Highland Noodles Swag! So creative and apt!!!

Chalk one more up as a fantastic event set up by our CM @Katie R! Thank you ! We are not novices to the concept of hand pulled noodles as we were inducted into these delectable strands of happiness at a restaurant inside the Rotunda in SFO when the chef came out dancing into the seated patrons, while creating these wonderful strings of flavor and texture, at least a decade ago, if not more! But now to have it even closer, in Milpitas was exciting ! So, off we went to this establishment on N Milpitas blvd in Milpitas and found ourselves in a veritable east Asian Mecca of food. Reminded me of Berber lane near McCarthy Blvd, many moons ago, which seems to have has lost it's mojo over the years! But I digress.....and steering back to the YEE at Highland Noodles! The entrance belies the huge dining area they have, which is spic n span and with a quiet ambience, I found surprising for a Chinese food joint but very soothing and welcoming. The wait staff were not great orators nor were they waxing English prose or poetry, but having lived in Bay Area for so long and have found our way through so many Dim Sum places strewn across, we ordered exactly what we wanted without too much ado! In fact, when technology stumped me from availing the Yelp Elite discount when placing the order post code scan, the slim tall lady immediately came over, understood the issue and rectified it instantaneously and processed our order with the discount! She solved our problem without the need for too many explanations and words. Kudos to her!!! Food came quickly next and everything was piping hot! We ordered the following : 1. Lanzhou Thin Flat Hand Pulled Beef Noodle Soup (large & non spicy) - this simple looking but a veritable bomb of flavors was my favorite as I kept enjoying those chunks of the the deeply flavored meat between slurping those endless strands of goodness. Was in a delirium for the rest of the day, savoring first and later reminiscing the taste and textures experienced! 2. Pork Belly topped Soup Dumpling (Large and non-Spicy). This was with thin round medium noodles and while I swooned over the Pork Belly chunks , my wife, who can withstand spice levels greater that what I can, would have loved it more , if it was made a little more spicy . Well the fresh house made chili oil served on the table did the trick! 3. We had ordered a plate of the Lamb Skewers (2) as an appetizer. They were so unique in taste, texture and flavor with cumin seeds liberally spread over them,we did not know when they had come and gone. They were that good! Definitely order 2 skewers per person at a minimum! Else you will leave un-satiated! 4. We had also ordered Beef Stir Fried with thin Flat noodles . Ooouffff! we were lost in the taste, texture and flavor this dish brought with each strand. You need to try it yourself to get to understanding the heavenly goodness this concoction is ! And now for the best part !!! Our bill without the YEE discount was $52 , but we paid only $26 with the tip! And we had huge leftovers which we carefully and lovingly packed , to continue this food ecstasy at home over the next few meals!!! Thank you Yelp ! Thank you @Katie R !! Thank you Highland Noodles !!!

Hooray for Yelp Elite Week!!! Since I could bring my favorite +1, I signed up for this event ASAP! I even brought 2 kids with us and made it like a Family Date Night!! Thanks, Yelp, Katie, and Highland Noodles! My plus one and I enjoyed two different hand-pulled noodles: 1. Lahnzou Beef - broth was tasty, noodles were fresh! 2. Dan Dan - it was too spicy for me, but my man was grateful for this dish cuz he was hangry. The kids had: 1. Lamb Skewer- was this marinated in something delicious? It had great spices! 2. Rice - no complaints! 3. Tea Egg -, they surprisingly liked it! 4. Plain Noodles - I thought it needed broth, but they ate it up!! Everyone had a great time! A fun excuse to go out on a Friday night!

We had so much fun at the YEE thanks to Katie! It was a nice change to be able to sit down and really enjoy the food and ambience for this event. Beef noodle soup with medium thin noodles made me feel like I just got hugged in a warm fuzzy blanket. The soup was on point and not lacking any flavors. The spicy wide beef noodles were hot hot hot! I've actually never had a Szechuan pepper before and these noodles made my mouth go numb. It was definitely an experience but delicious nonetheless! For my like minded spicy-wimps, you can ask to adjust the spiciness. Now, I will admit that I wasn't a big fan of the dumplings. The peanut sauce with chili oil was an odd blend of flavor palettes for me. However, no complaints since we just ordered that so that we could pay back to the business. Contrary to what other elites stated, service (at least today) was fantastic! Efficient, friendly and fast. Bonus points: - They provide little scissors to cut the noodles. Trust, you're going to need them because they were THICC. - They offer little mouthwash at the cashier station In case you didn't know, MAKE SURE YOU TIP MY FRIENDS!! Just because a meal is free doesn't mean the service is. ;)

Super happy Katie chose this place to host another Yelp Elite event. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have stumbled upon this joint. First off, I LOVE noodles, and it's thrilling to see a place that offers such a wide variety in both type and preparation variety. My beef noodles were deliciously chewy, the beef was tender, and the broth was very good. The portion was HUGE and I wasn't anywhere close to finishing it. The amount of noodles was beyond generous for the price, but I could have used more broth to keep the party going. My hubbies spicy pork noodles stole the show. He got the thin wide noodles (I didn't get an option to select a noodle type) and they were my favorite. They were softer than my cut noodles, yet still chewy. I'd get those with everything. The two ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and had a nice spice to them, blending perfectly with the broth. I found it very caliente, but spice lovers will find it very enjoyable. We also got the potato appetizer and the tea egg. I wish the egg was marinated a bit longer. It definitely didn't have the nice strong flavor I'm used to. Tasted just like a basic hard-boiled egg. The potatoes were nice and had a lovely flavor. I loved how easy it was to place an order. Their QR ordering system was super easy, and I was even able to add on an item after placing my order. Overall, this place offers incredible value and there are so many additional dishes I want to try. I'll be back for sure!

    spicy beef noodles incense pot

Came here at 12:30 on a Friday and there was a good amount of people in the store, I'm assuming both Yelpers and non-Yelpers alike. This is a business plaza so parking may be tight around peak meal times but when we left at 1:45, there was plenty of space. We were greeted immediately at the door. The restaurant itself looks modern and there's plenty of space between tables. We ordered with the QR code. There's more than just noodles; there's appetizers like pig ears, dumplings, yea eggs, and more. Spicy Beef Noodles in Incense Pot: These noodles came with safety scissors which was so funny! Good thing though because they were so thick and long. These were the classic, flat, Szechuan numbing Chinese spicy noodles that I expected. It came with bamboo, celery, chunks of beef, and my favorite topping, soy wrap. Spicy Pork Spear Rib Topping Soup Noodles: These noodles had soup on the side, which was nice so that the noodles didn't expand in the broth if you were slow to eat/wanted to take it home. The ribs were HUGE and flavorful. I wish the meat was a bit more moist though. It was spiced but not Szechuan spicy, so we alternated between the dishes. Tea egg: I never had one of these before. It smelled good! Looked kind of funky. They were already salted too so it was like a nice snack. We barely finished half before we asked to take it to-go. It's crazy how big the portions felt; I can't imagine someone eating one entree all alone. The noodles fill you up!

    Beef and intestine noodles

First impression was that the interior is really clean with ambient lighting. However, the man at the counter did not seem happy with us being there for Yelp. He handed me the list of names and told me to cross off my name very sternly. I took my parents there so that they could experience a YEE with me and also order additional food to help support the business. We got complimentary tea as soon as we were seated which was generous and uncommon in any other Asian establishment. We ordered 3 different items so that we could try a variety of their noodles. We thought their housemade noodles were great, very bouncy with a good amount of chew. Hand pulled beef noodles & beef with intestines noodles: a generous portion of noodles in their large bowl with just a bit of beef chunks that were well seasoned and tender. Their broth is lacking in flavor so I just ate the noodles and beef. Both noodle soups looked the same except for the addition of the intestines. Seafood stir fry: the noodles were thick and hand cut so it wasn't uniform in shape but the texture was very pleasing! Very chewy and tasted Al dente. The flavor was surprising because I often think of stir fry with a brown sauce and a lot of "wok hei" flavor, but this was a tomato base with sliced cabbage, bean sprouts, shrimp, and calamari. I liked it at the restaurant, but do not recommend taking home for leftovers. The taste and consistency of the noodles change even within the day. My rating is from the noodle soups being bland in my opinion and not having any distinct flavor. The other part is due to not feeling welcomed there. I'm fine with not having service or being attended to but i don't want to support a restaurant that makes me feel like I'm inconveniencing them as soon as I walk in. Regardless of my experience, thank you Katie and Highland noodles for the invitation. The fresh noodles really had a nice mouthfeel.

Update: yelp elites please remember for these events tipping is NOT optional, it's courteous and expected. These businesses are nice enough to give us a free meal so please tip accordingly. Also it's common courtesy to tell the server you're there for Yelp Elite *before* ordering. What a lovely experience here. I had the delicious beef pulled noodle and it was delicious. The noodles are like none I'd ever had. They are hand pulled and fresh, melt in your mouth! The waiter suggested the thinnest variety and he was right. I added some spice and drank every last drop of the broth. It was delicious! The beef was cubed and flavorful. None of it was too heavy and instead was the perfect amount of food. Service was quick and friendly. Easy to order and pay with QR code. Thanks to Katie for planning and highland noodle for a great event. I'll be back!

We got a chance to taste the fantastic noodles made fresh here over the weekend. Here are the dishes we ordered- Fry Lamb skewers non spicy 2 pieces- We loved the texture & flavor of lamb it also had a lot of cumin seeds which enhanced the flavor. I think we order extra next time we visit... Lanzhou hand pulled noodles we choose thin flat noodles- when I looked at the bowl I thought it looks ok but when I tasted it .... It was very flavorful the broth does full justice to this soupy dish & the beef chunks was absolutely yummy but the star of this dish is the handmade noodles we were blown away with the flavor ... I think this is the best noodles we had so far.... Pork belly topping with noodles- I just can't resist pork belly that's my favorite ... again amazing taste of the pork belly chunks it had enough pieces of pork belly chunks... still I wanted more what can I say ... I am a sucker for pork belly !!!! This dish had come with a soup on the side which I loved again very flavorful broth & pipping hot .... The noodles I choose was medium thin which went perfectly with the dish... I am salivating thinking of this fantastic dish... Beef stir fried noodles (from the specialty noodles)- this was again fantastic flavors couldn't figure out exactly whether it's tomato based sauce or something else but whatever it was it was just fantastic taste we fell in love with the flavors just couldn't stop eating it.... Everything we ordered we loved it ... amazing experience we will definitely come back to try the other dishes they have to offer... We loved the cleanliness of this restaurant. There is no outdoor seating. Their cutlery ( bowls & plates) are very heavy so please be careful while packing the leftovers..... Thanks to Katie & Yelp elite event for introducing us to this gem!!!!

Thanks Katie and Yelp Elite team for introducing us to highland noodles! Cool ambience and great food. One thing I loved here was the Pork Dan Dan soup noodles...burst of flavors on the first bite...hand pulled noodles were soft and perfect...broth was flavorful...there was a strong cumin flavor which I absolutely loved. Chicken noodles was nice - a tad tangy but very soft and saucy. Hubby totally loved it. Am coming back for the Dan Dan noodle soup guys! Highly recommended!

We got the Lanzhou noodles and the spicy beef noodles. The Lanzhou noodles were pretty good and the noodles were very chewy. The broth was flavorful and light. The spicy beef noodles were a bit too spicy and numbing for us and it tasted more spicy than flavorful. We thought the beef pieces in the noodle dishes were kind of small and it would've been better with thicker cuts of beef. We also ordered pea sprouts and the spicy potato cold dish. The pea sprouts were pretty good and potato dish was alright. When he brought out the square system for us to pay and select tip, we chose a percentage of tip and he pressed the back button and implied to us that we should tip more. He explained that the percentage the total was based off was the amount we paid for the other dishes. I was taken back by that since I was already planning to tip in cash based on how our meal would've costed. I noticed from other reviews that this also happened to others. It was disappointing to end the meal with this experience. I agree with other reviews that we shouldn't be pressured to tip more and given attitude when they aren't satisfied with our tip amount. I hope they can change their approach on this as customers wouldn't be willing to come back again if this happened to them. Overall, the Lanzhou noodles were good and we had a good experience up until the very end. Regardless of what happened, thanks so much to Katie, Yelp, and Highland Noodles for this event!

First of all, huge thanks to our awesome CM, Katie, for organizing this great event, and Highland Noodles for hosting! When I saw this event on the calendar, I knew that I had to try it out because I love trying all sorts of noodles. I read through some of the elite reviews before coming, and I have to say I had a more positive service experience personally. Upon arrival (around 2pm Friday), the lady at the front greeted me and asked me to sign into the Yelp sheet and gave me two Yelp Elite noodles stickers (how cute and appropriate!). It was pretty empty around that time. She directed me to my table and explained to me to order via scanning the QR code, and that I had two complimentary noodle bowls. She also brought us a pot of tea without us asking (you probably have to ask for water though). I brought my bf and we decided to order: + Lanzhou Hand Pull Beef Noodle Large: This was a massive portion of noodles. The large size is $14.99 and the smaller bowl is $12.99. If you're hungry, I think the $2 extra is definitely worth the amount of noodles you get, and the bowl is substantially larger as well. You can choose to get this spicy, but I opted for non-spicy today. The broth is slightly on the saltier side, but it was refreshing and was filled with spices and one of my favorite vegetables, daikon! The daikon was a bit on the rawer side, (it needed to be cooked more). The noodles, however, were delicious. I saw the chef hand pulling the noodles in the kitchen. They were perfectly al dente and chewy (QQ), yummy! The beef cubes were also very tender and melted in the mouth. I would definitely get this dish again, but I would try it spicy next time. + Noodle with Ground Pork Sauce: This was my bf's dish, and it's a broth-less noodle dish. I really liked the ground pork sauce. It's slightly sweet and comes with bean sprouts and cucumbers on top, which is a refreshing balance to the ground pork. The sauce also has little chunks of potatoes, adding more starchiness deliciousness to the overall meal. We also ordered: + Cold Mix Bean Curd $3.99: delicious! If you like bean curd and the taste of sesame oil, you'll like this dish. I love cold mixed bean curd and they added red onions on top, which is new to me, but it works really well as it's a refreshing crunch. + Tea Egg $1.99: The tea egg was just okay, I probably wouldn't order it again because it tasted more like a boiled egg than anything else- it definitely needs more marinating time. It came out nice and hot though! The restaurant is very clean, modern decorated, and had a nice ambiance. The booths had plexiglass between them as well. At the end, I asked for togo boxes because there was so much food. The lady also checked in on us and asked me how the food was. When it was time to pay, I asked for the check and she had already deducted the two noodle dishes for us without prompting. I tipped based off the total amount of the whole meal. Overall, we had a great experience and I'm happy to have gotten to try a new place. Thanks again to Katie for being an awesome CM and Highland Noodles for giving us a chance to try your food! I would definitely come back sometime!

Place is super clean and nice. It felt somewhat fancy. We were seated right away. You have to scan the QR code for the menu and order from your phone. There is no waitress that takes your order. They brought us tea which we weren't crazy about. It had no flavor and tasted like metal or tap water like. We ordered the cucumber salad side dish which was really good. The cucumbers were extra crunchy. It was really refreshing. I had the Lanzhou Hand Pulled Noodle Soup and my coworker had the Braised Beef Slided Noodles. We liked it. It was good and had a lot of flavor. The noodles were fresh. It was a lot for small bowls. We got the noodles free as part of the event and just had to pay for the side dish. You have to go upfront to pay. The guy told me the tip was too small and said I needed to give more. Customers should never feel obligated to tip and asking for more is very tacky. After reading other reviews I see this was a common occurrence and could likely be from the same person. Hopefully they read these reviews and change their business tactics because this sort of approach will turn people away. No matter how good your food is, if you display of sense of entitlement and strong arm customers for a tip and/or more they won't come. Overall we enjoyed the food and the ambience but probably would not go back. We weren't wow'ed by the food and I would rather spend my money someplace more appreciative.

I really did enjoy the owner coming out to talk to us about matcha. The stuff comes directly from their home town at the foot of Mount Fuji. While other matcha houses have shortages, they have a steady supply here. Otherwise they get on the phone, and mom and pop walk over to the supplier to see what's up. Tables were nicely set up. Met sevral nice people. Don't you love yelp events? Had a nice chat with the person across from me. Then talked at length to the person on my left. This was my first yelp event wherein I met up at a specific time and place to join fellow yelpers…read moreto sample goodies. I love matcha, so this Lunch & Learn at Ryokucha Cafe on Friday, November 14, 2025, definitely piqued my interest. I arrived at the storefront at exactly the 12:30 PM start time; however, their tiny parking lot was completely full, so I had to drive around the block a couple of times to find street parking. I later learned that the adjacent underground garage was available for us to use. Wish that information was shared with us in the email. Luckily, I was only five minutes late to the event. I don't like being tardy. Upon arrival, I was greeted at the check-in table, showed my attendee QR code Party pass, and grabbed a yelp sleep mask. A small table and three chairs were added to an existing table of yelp participants to seat Yikai and Fumika, my new yelp friends whom I met here, and me. Boxes of individual packs of baked buns from Sheng Kee Bakery were available for grabs at a table by the front counter. This was our lunch. I picked a hot dog bun and a pork bun both of which were super soft. Shortly after being seated, we were given another yelp gift, a nice food container with accompanying eating utensils. I envisioned the event to be similar to a wine tasting where all of the small drinks are pre-poured in small cups and presented on a tray with labels for each and a host speaks on each as you sip them. Instead, as each beverage was made, the pours were done at the table. It wasn't the most organized flow, but it was steady. Our table, or at least the end where I was sitting, didn't hear of any talks on the origins, preparation, nor health benefits of matcha, which was no big deal to my tablemates nor me since we were engulfed in socializing and sharing our opinions of each sip with one another. The experience was definitely all about matcha. After snacking on Sheng Kee buns, we were served a tiny scoop of Matcha Soft Serve, an array of generous sips of Ryokucha's signature matcha drinks, and a sample of their Hojicha Latte. Below are all of the items that we got to try: Macha Soft Serve - Made with real milk. I took a Lactaid and enjoyed this. Blueberry Matcha Latte - This was Naomi's (another new yelp friend whom I met here) favourite. At initial sip, Yikai exclaimed, "Whoa! That is special! Very unique. Definitely good, but sweet." I liked this drink, too, but didn't find it to be very sweet, which was great. Banana Cream Matcha Latte - Naomi was not a fan of the version made with oat milk, citing the chalky, powdery texture. She preferred this made with real milk. Initially, Yikai skipped this sample, but Naomi and I insisted that he taste this one because it was not sweet. The banana flavour really came through, but it didn't make it to the top of my list. Mango Matcha Latte - I really tasted the mango here, too, but the drink was a bit too sweet for me. I didn't hear anyone else comment on this one. Strawberry Matcha Latte - This was also good, but on the sweet side. Yikai commented, "Interesting. You can see strawberry chunks." Hojicha Latte - After his initial sip, Yikai said that "they keep bringing more and more unique stuff." I enjoyed the warm, toasty flavour of this roasted Japanese green tea. This won the top drink of the day vote from Yikai and me and I ordered it for my complimentary drink item, 50% sweet and made with almond milk. Yikai said that even 50% would be too sweet for him. I didn't expect it to be since the sample tasting I had wasn't very sweet at all. Welp, in the end, I agreed with Yikai - perhaps I should have asked for zero sweetness because the 50% ended up to be too sweet for me as the ice melted that I ended up giving my beverage to DJ. He said that he liked the flavour. Perhaps, during the tasting, I didn't find the Hojicha Latte to be very sweet because it was the last sample I tried...after the others which were much sweeter. What a great way to bring together people with similar interests like tasting and rating edibles and potables. It was a rare time for me to enjoy taking shots and notes on served items without someone growing impatient with my yelping (a.k.a. family). Come on yelp friends, you know what I am talking about, right? I can't be the only one on here who feels pressured to snap shots within half a second, so that others can dive in! Needless to say, I had a great time, meeting and mingling with yelpers over shots of Japanese tea. Shout out to Ryokucha Cafe for a welcoming and fun event. A million thanks Paolo for looking out for me, ensuring that my drinks were made with milk alternatives.

The event was well organized and staffed! The staff of Smashburger were outstanding and were super friendly. They even made a special tasting menu for this Yelp event! Smashing Baby! There were five burgers and two chicken sandwiches to taste, and most were amazing! My favorite was the Bay Area Burger, which I can't wait to enjoy again. There event starred with smashing fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings and vegetables; all equally delicious! The onion rings stood out as they were lightly battered, which is so different than most places. The event ended with peanut butter, vanilla and Oreo shakes! Did I mention Gordon Biersch beer! I am so full from this devine menu, I'm not sure how I will get through the night. Based on the nutritional sheet, I've consumed at least 2,500 calories tonight! Gluttony?!? In the end, it was a smashing event and food. I met some new Yelpers, silver and gold! Special thanks to Abby and Smashburger staff and marketing guy!

After two years, Angelo B's questions remain unanswered. Plenty of events were listed on the promo…read moreposter, but no hours were posted! Neither the Yelp event listing nor the event website gave any hints to when the Adobo Cook-Off or award ceremony would take place. I arrived at the festival at 3 PM on Saturday to avoid the lunch-time crowd. Bad move. Why? By that time one of the only two vendors offering adobo SOLD OUT. Not surprisingly, the remaining $5 adobo w. rice booth had a small, growing line since they had to wait for another batch of rice to finish cooking. Luckily for me their adobo was delicious. Sure you had to navigate a few stray peppercorns and papery garlic skins, but each meaty morsel made my mouth water. The pork version was particularly addictive since my serving was delightfully vinegary and had the benefit of a generous amount of gravy. The shredded chicken adobo was good, but not as nicely seasoned. Most food vendors sold BBQ meat-on-a-stick dishes or teriyaki this-or-that. Boring. A couple others had more respectable Filipino fare [Mama Sita's & Gerry's Grill]. My favorite [and the most popular] booth was Magnolia Ice Cream. $3 for a single scoop. $4 for a double scoop (up to two flavors). The portions were generous so I felt happy to shell out the extra buck to get both Ube and Halo-Halo. Other flavors I remembered were Avocado, Mango, Mais Queso, and Buko Pandan. I'd go again... but maybe a little earlier. Think you missed out? You can catch part 2 of this year's Adobo Festival in Sacramento on August 21st & 22nd if you can't wait until 2011. Although, we took public transit coming from Fairfield area, there was plenty of parking. Good to know in case we feel like going again but I doubt it unless they venture over to Solano. I was super excited to go all week finding out I had the day off but at the end, I was on the disappointed side. I would've liked to hear more songs in Tagalog and I was expecting to get me and the fam Got Adobo ? Shirts. But they sold only sun hats, food, and jewelry. Guess I'll have to find them on line. But yeah. It was more of a bother than a delight to come to this event.

Thankfully, he still let me join the Boxing 60 class, and I had a great time. The class is easy to follow, as long as you're paying attention. As an F45 regular, I'm used to the workout being on the screens, but at TITLE the screens only have timers and the instructions are all verbal (and demonstrated by the instructor). The workout can be as challenging as you want it to be, but definitely good for cardio. I liked the space itself and the fact that it wasn't overcrowded. Hand wraps were $5 and gloves were provided - both were great. I also loved the bag of goodies that came with this experience, especially the boxing glove keychain and Yelp-branded socks. She was very clear, helpful but not pushy, and she knew what she was talking about. It made the whole thing way fun. This gym was cool enough to come back. I think I'm going to be sore tomorrow, but let me use your the other two sessions. I think I might get hooked!

We haven't visited here in several years, as it's a few miles from home. Funny how easy it is to forget what lies a few short miles from our door! One employee was manning the store when we came in this Sunday, shortly after noon and found everything tidy. There were at least eight flavors to choose from, including the favorite "original tart." I tried the coffee gelato, strawberry and cheesecake. The coffee has an amazing depth of flavor and didn't taste like a kid's dessert so much as a rich treat. The cheesecake flavor definitely came through, but the strawberry tasted a little artificial. While most of their flavors are nonfat, I'm partial to fat - for better or worse! As a result, Swirl's froyo seems less creamy to me than other options. The topping choices were first rate. I loved that they offer compostable cups and spoons! It always makes me so happy when there are environmentally-conscious packaging. It did amuse me that there wasn't a compost bin separate from the trash bin.
