Another Yelp Elite Party for my milestone collection! North Bay knows how to throw a parrrtaaayyyyy, and there's hella parking - score! That's very important in the Bay Area IYKYK. It was so nice to see old and new Yelp friends, especially all the rockstar Yelp CM's in the house. Always great to see the variety of participating businesses/vendors on a Thursday night in Novato, some I've met before. Endless libations and bites all for a good cause - Glancy Wine Education Foundation. Kudos to all the Yelpers who donated and supported the local non-profit. The air was lively at Sports Basement filled with laughter and chatter. Lines were long for Cartoon City Caricatures, amusing and entertaining at the same time. Arrived at the Novato Sports Basement with plenty of parking. The regular staff was helpful by explaining what to expect and directed us to the main Yelp check-in. Donated $20 to the non-profit - Glancy Wine Education Foundation - got a swag bag. Got to know the vendors' offerings, plans and ventures, or new locations: - Adobe Road Winery (Petaluma location, new tasting room ~02/26, their red blend and Pinot noir wines) - J Lohr Vineyards & Wines (their nice Red Blend wine) - Matanzas Creek Winery (only vendor revisited 3x for the merlot) - Foodie Panda (Portuguese style egg tart, foodie tour in '26) - Toast Restaurant (special Mediterranean menu, kids eat free M-TH) - Lone Mountain Barbecue (the CM suggested porchetta, and Sausage) - Tacos el Muchacho Alegre (first time trying pozole) - Hot Italian (mobile wood-fired pizza oven) IMO, the best Yelp events are the ones open to Elites and non-Elites alike. Glad to have been invited to another annual celebration of Yelp and the local businesses in the North Bay with this year's Apres Ski event! Located at the Sports Basement in Novato, a huge section of the store was cordoned off for Yelp Elite and friends to come! Participants were asked to donate to the Glancy Wine Education, which provides scholarships for underserved communities. Gladly donated the recommended amount of $20 which definitely felt like a steal in retrospect considering the food, drinks, and entertainment provided. The vendors were spread out across one wing of the store. I appreciated that there was a wide variety of different foods and drinks represented from Mexican sushi from X-ies Sushi rolls to sichuan dumplings form Foodie Panda and kombucha from Boochcraft to tea from Kace fruit tea. My favorites were the meat sampler from Lone Mountain Barbeque, chicken tostada from Flores, pozole from Tacos El Muchacho, coconut gelato from Hot Italian, and the ginger cookies from Al's Real Good Cookies. A big shout out to the live entertainment from Robby D and The EFgs who definitely kept the vibes going. When they had to take a deserving break, they were missed! We had an amazing time at the Après Ski themed event last night! There were so many incredible local vendors -- I feel like I only scratched the surface! From the delicious bites to the awesome entertainment, it was just nonstop fun! I enjoyed every vendor I had the chance to try and I can't wait to order directly or visit their establishments in the future! I even tried honeycomb from Buddy's Farm for the first time and honey soda! Yum! Hot Italian Pizza was another one that stood out for me (tasted very close to New York brick oven pizza)! The live band set the perfect vibe and I enjoyed chatting with the caricature cartoon artist while he drew my picture! The whole event was filled with good energy and positive vibes! It was also great to catch up with a few familiar faces and meeting other Yelpers! I can go on and on, but let's just say that this event left a smile on my face! What an interesting concept to have an event inside of Sports Basement! Upon entering, all the signage for check in was clear. There were a ton of vendors with yummy samplers. Foodie Panda's Szechuan dishes were some of my faves. Hot Italian pizza, Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese and Co, Al's Real Goods cookies, Lone Mountain BBQ, Flores tostada, Ji's Kimchi. By the time I came, Xies Sushi Rolls was out. It would have been nice to have some tables to place our food to eat on. The table where all the Yelp glasses was partially empty and I felt a little bad using the edge of the table to eat but it was a bit hard juggling holding my glass while eating. There was a drink hallway in the back with a caricature station. Robby D and the EFGs live band was great. Yelpers got 20% off a Sports Basement purchase. A Yelp party in North Bay?? I'm in! Gotta give all the parts of the bay some good Yelp love and recognition. I frequently travel up north to Santa Rosa, so this gave me a good excuse to make a pit stop in Novato. I brought a friend from San Rafael, who is completely new to Yelp, to the event. She had always heard about these Yelp events I go to, but never really knew what they all entailed! Since it is Apres-Ski themed, I went for a Rave Ski Kitty look - Black techno-inspired tracksuit, furry purple jacket with matching velvet boots, and earmuffs to complete the look. We checked in and immersed ourselves in multiple sections of activities and vendors to check out. From food, beverage, snacks, dessert, music, painting, caricature, fortune-telling, and a video-booth, there was plenty to see, eat, and do! Here are some of my highlights: -Fortune Telling by Goldn Dragon Fortunes aka Wanugee OG Black Badge Elite! We talked about the past (remember those Yelp events from back in the day?) to the future, specifically my future! -Glam Bot video from The Movement Booth. I will never give up a good red carpet moment. -Freshly shaken cocktails from Griffo - I tried the Prickly Pear Gimlet & Espresso Martini. Delicious! -Ji's Kimchi featuring vegan options: vegan and Daikon -Clusterfunk Studios combining music with painting -BoochCraft with the delicious hard Kombuchas. -Vegan gelato from Hot Italiano. Yum! My friend enjoyed the event so much that she is now inspired to start writing Yelp reviews so she can join the Yelp Squad. It was fun to meet and/or say hi to the Bay Area CMs (Hi Mary, Gina, Dom!), and meet some North Bay Yelpers. My critique and suggestion for next time would be to have some high-top tables out for people to set their food & drinks down. There was no seating, tables, or a general area to enjoy our food. People were standing cramped along pathways, balancing delicate, small plates of food and cups while trying to eat at the same time. It felt rude to place our cups down on vendor tables so we could eat our food, but there was nowhere else to put them! Also, more vegan-friendly options would be appreciated, but I understand this is a tasting event. Shoutout to Ji's Kimchi and Hot Italiano for providing vegan-friendly samples! ;) Thank you Yelp team, for putting on this super fun event, all the vendors, and Sports Basement. Pretty curious seeing an après event held closer to the ocean than to a ski resort. Après what? Well let me tell you: the footprint of this event was the WAY TO GO. Sports Basement, which I usually refer to as the Costco of sports equipment, has very large warehouse-style locations so there's usually plenty of room. This one was no different. A $20 donation was encouraged so at the entrance were QR codes and a cash box. My Venmo went through (NOT mandatory, just encouraged) and we proceeded to pick up our glasses for the evening. So much space. So much. Had some spirits straight up from the Barber Lee table and visited the Griffo Distillery table for one of their three options. Also had some Hive Works Mead along the way to wash down some of the Hot Italian pizza and Mexican sushi. Point Reyes has some cheese and crackers and I'm not even cracking the list of vendors who showed up. Tostada, kimchi...the list is somewhere and they were all pretty great. Had a little Movement Booth reel sent to me via AirDrop. I'm not sure how it happened, but it happened. Featured in that reel is my new Griffo Distillery beanie for the cold. What a doozy of an event! All the things could be found as we were blanketed with delicious bites, drinks, and music to round out the evening! There was so much delicious food and drink at this thoughtfully planned event with North Bay CM Mary and her fellow Bay Area CM's like Dominic from SF! I had fun pairing the Keg Stand beer with the vendors near their table. I liked the pale ale with the Lone Mountain BBQ, and the lager with the Tacos El Muchacho Alegre pozole. For dessert, I had the Hot Italian coconut gelato with the scotch ale, and I made a yummy beer float with the lager & strawberry cheesecake gelato. I also enjoyed the Griffo Distillery prickly pear gimlet with Al's Real Good ginger cookies, and the Barber Lee rye whiskey with Al's chocolate chip cookies. The event was from 5-8pm, so I didn't feel rushed and got to taste many different things, talk to the friendly vendors, and catch up with Yelp friends. I agree with my fellow Yelpers that a suggestion for next time would be more high top tables to set our food & drink down on. It was so nice that the Adobe Road team recognized me from my recent Yelp review praising one of their excellent tasting room staff. This was such a fun and unforgettable Après Ski themed Yelp event! It was great to have this event held in my hometown at one of my favorite stores. I loved seeing all of the Bay Area CM's and Yelpers gathered together for one special night celebrating all things local. I brought a friend from Novato who has been to one other Yelp event. We were impressed with the amount of vendors (30+) and activities offered. I recognized a good amount of vendors where Yelp events have been held in the past: Flores, Griffo Distillery, Barber Lee Spirits, and Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co just to name a few. The first bite I had was the pozole and chips and salsa from Tacos el Muchacho Alegre. The pozole was hot and delicious. The porchetta and jalapeño sausage from Lone Mountain bbq were my favorite. I have been meaning to try their bbq for a long time so I was happy they were there. It was great to discover some new businesses. I enjoyed the tasty treats from Trini's Churro Cookies, the honeycomb and root beer honey soda from Buddy's Farm So Co, and the delicious cider from North Coast Organic. A fellow Yelper introduced me to Ji's Kimchi recently so it was nice to meet the owner and try some samples. I had some spirited sips from Griffo Distillery, Hiveworks Mead, Boochcraft, and Matanzas Creek Winery. The live band, Robby D and the EFG's brought the house down! They played a great set list. I didn't have a chance to do a couple activities like the caricatures and the fortune telling but that's ok. I thoroughly enjoyed this winter-themed community celebration and I want to give a big thank you to Mary V, the North Bay CM's, Yelp, all the local vendors, and Sports Basement for putting on the biggest event of the year! read more

What a fun way to kick off the weekend at Yelp Party: Après Ski! Sports Basement Novato has plenty of space for the Yelp community and over 30+ vendors and ample parking too! Win win!  Upon arriving we were checked in and then free to explore. It was a bit hard to hear the lay off the land but luckily another Yelper shared the scoop and we were off. I started off by enjoying all the cheese at Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co. Afterwards, I enjoyed a splash from Matanzas Creek Winery. Foodie Panda had some fun fixings that packed some spice. Griffo's offered some great cocktails fresh made and I enjoyed the Prickley Pear Gimlet. Hot Italian had delicious pizza bites and strawberry cheesecake gelato. Tunes were great by Robby D and the EFG's. There were many fun activities including a caricaturist, photo opportunities and large Yelp letters and backdrops. Hands down the best Yelp event I've ever been to!!! Tons of local vendors featuring a wide range of products (many of which were sourced ethically or organically!). There were delicious, mouth-watering product samples at every station which were fantastic promotionals for the businesses involved, as well as takeaway items big and small. The après-ski theme of the party was definitely visible, with the store's inventory and dressed Yelpers all around really feeding into it! The entire event from start to finish had an energy about it, which I believe in large part was due to the super entertaining live band and the friendliest Yelpers I've ever met feeding my soul all evening long!!! Incredibly fun event thanks to the countless vendors giving out amazing food and beverages, Sports Basement for hosting, and the entire Yelp bay area community managers for inviting us! It was great seeing all the CMs together at one event. The peppermint espresso martini at Griffo Distillery, endless cheese at Point Reyes Cheese, and honey root beer Buddy's Farm were some of the highlights for me! These types of events are so great since they support a lot of local small businesses that I may not have ever heard about otherwise. Such an awesome event I had so much had so much fun!!! All the vendors were truly passionate about what they were providing to the community. I was lucky enough to try out a few of the spots all of which were outstanding. We started off at lone mountain BBQ which had a sampling of pork loin and sausage, both of which were definitely a hit. Next we tried keg stand a new brewery that had some Delicious beers I look forward to checking out! The sample slices at hot Italian were definitely one of my favorites the green sauce was the cherry on top so good! Super fun event! Friendly attendees, and helpful staff. Kudos to everyone who helped coordinate this entertaining evening. By far, the funnest item was the Movement Booth. I'd recommend this business, crew, and activity for events. Their service creates an 18-second video from just a 4-second clip. It was awesome to try so many local foods and beverages. My favorite beverages were the Olipop--not heard of it before. I loved that it has probiotics; I loved all the delicious flavors I tried: Orange Squeeze, Orange Cream, Apple Crisp, and Ridge Rush (like 7-up, but with some caffeine). Jambar Jammin' Jazzleberry performance bar was delicious--new to me. Al's Real Goods were scrumptious, soft cookies: Choco Cip, Ginger Smack, and Choco Choco. Made by 10-year Michelin chef. The Xies' Santa Rosa Sushi Roll was delicious--it was free of gluten and dairy. Lovely displays I didn't try due to gluten, dairy, or alcohol. Barber Lee had tastings of rum, apple brandy, bourbon, rye, and even absinthe (it's a licorice flavor). I'd not seen the Ecotensil before (It's a flat laminated thick paper piece that cleverly folded into a spoon. You press together the 2 "eye" dots and read the instructions in the shape of a smile). You could paint on canvases at the Clusterfunk Studios booth. HiveWorks Mead company had a cute beverage cozy that looked like a ski jacket--perfect for tonight's theme. The Boochcraft crew was so friendly and told great stories about the company. Very fun and informative. Toast restaurant showcased some of their Mediterranean cuisine. Super popular was the caricature artist. Great band--we sang and danced to awesome covers including Blister in the Sun. I highly recommend this event, which I heard is an annual one. read more

This event was so wonderful especially with the many vendors that were present. I had the privilege to go around to each vendor and if I didn't get to try their samples then I was able to speak to them in order to understand their business. I did have some vendors that really stood out to me and even made me go back for seconds. First, I had visited Xies Sushi Rolls Their sushi rolls looked amazing and I knew I had to try some. Their menu consisted of: 1. Mexi Rolls 2. Guam Rolls 3. Santa Rosa Rolls 4. Roseland Rolls 5. California Rolls 6. Surf and Turf Rolls I got to try most of them and they were so delicious. My ultimate favorites were the Mexi Rolls and the Roseland Rolls. The Roseland Rolls were topped with hot Cheetos dust so that was a must try and it definitely didn't disappoint. Next, I was able to chat with the ladies from the Booch Craft table. I had never heard of kombucha drinks infused with alcohol so that was very new. I tried their cucumber lime flavor and it was so delicious and refreshing. We enjoyed the drinks so much that after the event, we stopped by BevMo to pick up a case! Luckily, there was a BevMo right next to this event and afterwards we were able to see these ladies in the parking lot and get to show them! If you are going to drink, why not do it healthily!? I was also able to try some delicious churros from Trini's Churro Cookies and that was such a delicious snack. I also got a variety plate from Authentic Sichuan Cuisine from southwest china! Their flavors were very delicious with many spices coming to play! I thoroughly enjoyed this event because it allowed exploration to many vendors and getting the chance to connect with so many people. Yelp Party: Après Ski - Yelp Events Near Me - Novato, California

This was such a fun event! Made the drive over from SF and got to learn about a lot of really great restaurants. Super excited to try some of these places the next time I'm in the area! I liked that the event was located inside Sport Basement because we were able to browse when we decided to take breaks in between tastings (we were so full from all the food!!). Also really enjoyed the live music. My favorite food items were the pozole from Tacos El Muchacho and the pizza and gelato from the Hot Italian Pizza Bar - they were making the pizza fresh in ovens outside! I did also appreciate the variety of options that were offered that I got to try for the first time, like non-alcoholic beer from Best Day Brewing, sparkling mead from Hive Mind Mead, and Movement Booth (not to be confused with your typical Photo Booth). read more

What can I say.... As always this event was well organized, from the moment we stepped into the venue we were greeted warmly, the photo ops were so well done and it made us excited to head into the event. I'm glad I arrived early, I was overwhelmed in the best way possible. There was so much to do, eat, drink, I mean... it was awesome! I stopped by every single booth and got to try every bite, drink and piece of entertainment. Everyone was so nice and their products were great. Thank you so much to Yelp Bay Area for putting this event together, Sports Basement for hosting us, and to all the amazing vendors that put themselves out there. I definitely bookmarked a few that I will be re-visiting in the near future. After the event I even headed over to BevMo next door to bring home some boochcraft! How amazing the idea is of hard kombucha. I loved that! Pictures are great, but they don't do this event justice. You really just had to be there! It was awesome! ;) read more

Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit, that was an enjoyable event! Huge shout-out to Mary V. and team, Yelp, and Sports Basement for making it all happen! Glancy Wine Education... I hope you raised a pretty penny for your foundation! The music was vibing, the Yelp energy was positive, and all the vendors were engaging. There was so much to explore and experience, it almost felt overwhelming, but in the best possible way. Even though I attended solo, I never once felt alone. I loved being introduced to new businesses and reconnecting with familiar favorites. I'm already looking forward to visiting these establishments again in the coming days! read more

Wow an incredible event! The atmosphere was so fun, especially with the live band. While the goodies were meant to serve as "bites", I definitely ate enough to count as my dinner. There were so many vendors from the North Bay. I loved exploring businesses I had never heard of. Barber Lee drinks was smooth. The Movement Booth was so fun -- think of them when planning your next event! Finally got to try Flores from Corte Madera. My only regret is not being able to get my caricature done by Marc - unfortunately guests kept him busy the entire evening. I wish the event lasted more than 3 hours Definitely looking forward to this event next year. Please have it again! Made some new friends, tried tummy drinks and snacked on tasty samples. Sports Basement also gave out a coupon for 20% off purchases for Basementeers -- which I will promptly be using this week. This was a really fun Yelp event with a ton of vendors giving out free food and drinks. The main cause was a fundraiser for The Glancy Wine Scholarship that helps people of color get through the glass ceiling that is the wine industry. I'm always down for education so I was happy to support the cause. My favorites were the Boochcraft, the caricature guy, the pozole (gosh i wish i remembered where they were from!), the Point Reyes cheese, and Golden Dragon Fortune Telling. The event took place at the Novato Sports Basement, in the back. I'm also a big fan of that California based chain. The event was awesome but really could have used some chairs for sitting. Thank you so much to Mary and Yelp North Bay for allowing me to attend such an amazing event! I love the theme mixed with the venue and am looking forward to using my coupon this weekend! There were so many stations here: so many local food and drink options, something for everyone! The caricature and psychic lines were too long for us to get to visit them but hopefully we can check them out in the future. My favorite items was the bbq sausage and the Chole wine. The Photo Booth made me feel like a celebrity and seeing so many people I have met over the years in one place makes my yelping heart happy I was also able to bring my new Yelper friend Caroline G to the event so please add her if you had the chance to meet her! Amazing event! I tasted so much deliciousness, from Mexican sushi (delectable) to chicken tinga tostadas and churro waffles. Everyone was so generous with their samples! I picked up a bunch of cards so I can visit later. I loved learning about all of these businesses. The wine speakeasy area was cute and friendly. I learned a lot about Come Over October, a group that exists for the delightful purpose of getting friends together to drink wine. I tried 4 different wines from around the world. Also stopped by one of my faves, Matanzas Creek -- chenin Blanc was incredible. As always, Mary and the Yelp team went above and beyond to put on a great party. It was a nice touch to have a live band playing. I also really appreciate the Sports Basement coupon and will be back next week to use it! Thank you! So fun! read more

It was amazing to be able to try the diverse collection of vendors, in a Sports Basement no less! There were so many different cuisines and it was great talking to vendors about their local development process. My personal favorites of the night were BeeBitas who had honey soda and Ji's Kimchi who had a great ssamjang. Next time, I think it would be nice to have a couple of standing tables in the middle as it was a bit hard holding and eating all the good bites. The Yelp team took great care of all the attendees with entertainment, activities, and goodies. Overall, the event was well organized and it was great seeing the Yelp community coming together! read more

This was definitely a Yelp night to remember. Thank you Gina for putting this together for us all. It was so nice and welcoming. Every vendor and every yelper that I spoke with had such an amazing vibe. All bites and drinks was so very good. Those vendors brought forth THE best energy and their full expertise.
