This was my first time ever getting a blowout at Drybar much less at the newly opened A2 location! I didn't know that Drybar has timeslots as early as 7 AM, which is so convenient if you want your hair to look good before work. I work a non-regular business hour schedule, so I booked my appointment at 9:30 AM. I was the only customer there for the majority of my appointment, so I enjoyed the peace and quiet as my stylist washed and massaged my scalp while sipping on my complimentary mimosa. They also have complimentary water, sparkling water, tea, and coffee! I decided to get an Uptini with waves in my hair since that's the opposite of what I normally do to my hair, wear it down and straight. Honestly, I was so indecisive so my stylist was great at helping me pick the style that would last me my entire work week and maybe even my plans for Saturday!

I have curly hair, like a Jew-Fro to the extreme, and while I have owned that and worn it curly for years, ai was really excited to get to try out the whole fancy schmancy blow out experience. I had a blast! It was very swanky, with them offering water, coffee, tea, or a mimosa when I came in, and my requested Earl Grey with honey was ready when I got to my station. I checked out their look book; who knew there were so many options! I opted for the Old Fashion, vintage style. Asha was my stylist and she was so fun and friendly throughout the whole process, checking in with me at every step about what products were or to use or not, and how I felt. At the end, I looked so freaking glam; I almost put on a 40s gown when I got home just to take selfies. What a fun and fabulous experience! Thanks Yelp!

Made me feel really pretty and special! Amazing event! Hope it becomes a annual thing, getting pampered with our roses and blow outs! The staff was great as well! I got the dirty martini although I usually go for cosmo tai , May be looking at a new favorite look :)

I went to Drybar in Birmingham once and I loved it so much that I had to go to this event! Their new location in Ann Arbor is located in a cute shopping center and everything looks so new and nice. Upon arrival I checked in at the front and she offered me a drink, a nice glass of champagne for me to sip on while I got pampered! I was then introduced to my stylist, Erin, and I picked out what hairstyle I wanted. I ended up going with the cosmo-tai. Next we went to get my hair washed and at the end she put it in the perfect bun that was wrapped with a towel. We went back to the station and she went to working on my hair. Usually when I blow dry my own hair it comes out looking like a huge mess, I have very curly, frizzy hair. I am always so amazed how they get it to look so nice. My stylist was absolutely wonderful and did an amazing job on my hair. I didn't have to wash my hair for 3 days after this so I definitely got my use out of it! I can't wait to go back!

Simply amazing!! Amanda (stylist) did a fantastic job washing and blowing out my hair. Her and Sabrina (hostess/front desk) were both super friendly and welcoming. They made sure I had anything and everything to make me comfortable. From the options of water, tea, wine, champagne, mimosas...to the "look book", the experience was flawless. I love the fact that there is a book that you pick a basic style from and then your stylist does it so it works with your hair. From talking about product and hair texture to having my blowout revealed in the big mirror, the whole experience was fabulous. Being that I'm not super creative and am terrible at styling my own hair, this was a super fun opportunity and I felt totally pampered and beautiful when I left. My hair smells amazing and I love the feel so much that I ended up getting some products to try at home. The esthetic of the shop and the way they have music, a chick flick, and videos about their tools and products going is really interesting and cool. The fact that they even offer travel size products and tools is a huge draw as well considering many of us travel frequently and have finicky hair. I love my blowout. Love. It. My hair looks gorgeous and I'm super pumped to go back again and share this blowout experience with my mom, aunties, and girlfriends. I'm hooked. Couldn't recommend them more.

I'm so glad that we got a chance to do this Elite event! I've always wanted to go to a Drybar but didn't think there was one close enough. I love the fact that one opened up in Ann Arbor that's only 8 minutes away from my work! I was really shocked that they did the entire service complimentary and even offered champagne. I ended up doing the old fashioned style and I loved the big curls. It felt nice to be pampered and surprisingly didn't take that long. I like that the products they used made my hair blonder and soft. They also showed me what products they used! I'd like to go back and try some of the other styles they have. I'd consider their membership as well once all of this COVID-19 chaos is over.

Thank you Drybar A2 for this awesome event! During such a crazy time, it was nice to sit back, relax and be pampered!! When checking in I was offered my choice of beverage and I chose rosé! I was quickly placed with a stylist who ironically was also named Lauren! She was super sweet and helped me with picking a style. I got the cosmo-tai style and it came out great! This experience was super relaxing and I was super happy with the end result! I would definitely come back when I need my hair done for a special event, it was such a relaxing place! Thanks again Drybar and Yelp! :)

There is seating for 20 some people on the one side, and a banquet room to the right. We were seated on the right side for the event. MENU: we had a curated menu for the evening, but having been here before, they have a variety of Pakistani favorites, from the kebabs and biriyani, to chaats and samosas. FOOD: we started out with samosas and veggie spring rolls. Both were tasty, and not too heavy. We then tried one of their chaats which was enjoyed by the vegetarians at our table. After these dishes, it was onto the main courses. They served chicken biriyani, beef kebabs, chicken tikka and naan. I dare say this was the BEST chicken tikka I have ever had in my life. It was juicy, flavorful, with a nice amount of heat. Towards the end of our meal, we realized there was one dish they had not brought out. After a quick conversation with the staff they brought out their take on a chicken sandwich. This too was very good, and am so glad we were able to try. SERVICE: the servers were very nice, and did a very good job explaining what everything was. The owners were nice enough to come out and give a bit of background on the restaurant, stating they were hoping to have a place where groups of people could go to enjoy Pakistani food as there were few if any in the area. OVERALL - would definitely go back. this was actually my second time here, and it was just as good, if not better than the first time. The owner is also very humble and personable. I look forward to my next trip! Celebrity Rating - Daler Mehndi

All recipes were passed down from their family. Delicious. DEFINITELY spicy! Glad to have had the yogurt sauce to cool my taste buds. The food was so flavorful... appetizers, chicken, beef, rice, lentils, chickpea soup, paneer, padri chat, naan... my fave was the fried chicken slider! The hosts were welcoming and informative. I was so stuffed at the end of the event. Thank you, Annette, @barbqnite, and @foodiesnapper! Will recommend! Wishing you much success!

Here's how it works: 1. A group of volunteers organize the event and prepare the soups, salads, and dessert/s using local and seasonal ingredients. 2. Prospective micro-grant funding recipients send in their project proposals; if selected they will present their project at the soup dinner and explain how the funding will go to support their noteworthy cause. 3. Attendees of Detroit Soup pay $5 (at the door) to attend. 4. The money collected goes towards one of the projects presented. 5. Attendees and volunteers, alike, vote on which project they want the micro-funding to go towards. Besides being a great collaborative effort for the community, Detroit Soup is an awesome event because it seems so underground. Love it!!! Walking up the dark mysterious staircase to the Bakery Loft (where the soup is held) you're immediately surprised by the warm cozy dimly lit space. Candles adorn each table, bright florescent decorations hang from the ceiling, chatter fills the air, and the smells of slow cooked soups soon take hold. As for the seating situation, it fills up quickly as there are only 5 tables with chairs and another 10 tables with floor seating. Feel free to bring a pillow along for the floor seating...believe me you'll need it! Onto the food: at the last soup we were served two mixed green salads with a balsamic based dressing and the other with a kiwi lime dressing. Both were very good! The two soups (1.lentil and 2.fava bean) on the other hand, were a bit underwhelming. Not to say they weren't good, but they were just okay...a three star rating in my book of soups. Overall, Detroit Soup's mission/purpose, location, food, people (volunteers, presenters, attendees) is fantastic!

There's a lot of different flavors to choose from with your usual base teas. I tried the Black tea Milk Cap - flan boa boa (is it still boa boa when it's flan pieces?) it had a great flavor, but I'm a texture girl and the flan pieces were a bit bigger than the boa boa of course so it took some getting used to at first but I quickly slurped it down because it was that good! My friend tried the Magonada because she loves the Mexican treats with the fruit and tamarind. She really loved it, so if you like those flavors I'd definitely suggest getting it. I didn't like it much as the tamarind had a spiciness paired with the light fruity flavor of the mango. The Hello Hello (their play on Halo Halo) was interestingly really good! It had so many flavors, textures, from ice cream to lavendar with some crunch on top and lavendar jellies inside. Super flavor bomb on your palette, wow! It was my first time trying any halo halo. I'd heard about this special dessert and had been wanting to try it. It's definitely worth getting especially for a first timer. Make sure you have someone to share it with because it's A LOT of sweetness for just one person. My friend and I couldn't even finish it (but we did both have drinks as well). I'd most definitely check out Tou & Mai again, you can mix and match any flavor combo and there's candy and trinkets around the store to stroll. It's located right next to Sy Thai so grab some food, then get your drinks and dessert from Tou & Mai and walk it off with your dog at the dog park right across the street. Perfect location!
