The rooms are nice, updated and the office is clean. The staff was never rude, and fairly friendly however the providers were never upfront or honest about developing diagnosis's and when you brought a concern to them, they'd blow it off and say the next provider would address it. The provider attitudes at time weren't great, and again, sometimes there was no communication or transparency. I went high risk at the end of my first into my second trimester and no one said a word until I saw it in my notes. None of the providers attended birth as mine was quick, however Cisek did come out for my postpartum care and was wonderful. I wish them well but I couldn't stay as a patient myself. Recommendation? Look around and find a provider that works for you, and do your research in any condition you develop. Advocate for yourself.

Amazing experience!…read more The birth of my daughter was an incredible experience, all thanks to Laurice! I began my care with Laurice later into my pregnancy after switching over from my original OB. To summarize a long story-I had a wonderful, complication-free pregnancy, but was feeling pressured by my OB to continue various testing, all of which yielded non-concerning results, and was causing so much stress for me. In an attempt to maintain an intervention-free birth, I reached out to Laurice and Bill, who graciously accepted me into their care. Bill spoke to me with compassion and empathy, as I shared my experience with my original OB office, and we promptly arranged a meeting, followed by a home visit to ensure we were prepared for a home birth. Laurice's knowledge and confidence in the body's design for birth brought so much comfort, and reassured me that we were, indeed, designed for birth! Birth was no longer a scary thought to me, it was something I knew I could do! During labor, Laurice was a calm, reassuring voice. She stayed on the phone as they drove to our home. She was gentle, yet steadfast in her guidance, as she allowed me to move and position as I pleased, while offering her expertise. I was not told how to labor or when to push, but instead, guided to listen to my body. I trusted her knowledge and suggestions which I knew allowed for such a positive outcome. After delivery, I didn't have to advocate for what I wanted (skin to skin, delayed cord clamping, etc) because I knew that I shared the same philosophies as Laurice. In my most vulnerable moments, I didn't have to fight an uphill battle for the birth experience that I wanted. Laurice stayed with us for several hours after delivery, and in the weeks following, called various times to check in on us. Laurice provided care that exceeded any and all of my expectations. She was professional, knowledgeable, and confident in her practice, and guided us with compassion and gentleness that made this birth experience possible. I would recommend Laurice to anyone seeking a birth experience free of unnecessary interventions, and will absolutely have her by my side for any future births!

Didn't leave for 2 hours after we called saying active labor was underway. Every appointment we went to, we were told stories of how they rush to births and drive quickly and it's a whirlwind. It should have been a red-flag. Do your research. We delivered our child alone. After, we wrote several emails trying to discuss why this happened, why they dropped off and no aftercare was received & they refused to communicate or acknowledge us while not responding to anything. Several years later, I am still bitter about my brief time as a patient of Sokolowski. I had three…read moreconcerns: 1) Annual exam 2) Uterine fibroids 3) Breast lump Breast lump is most egregious. I felt a lump, she insisted there wasn't one and even brought in her PA to corroborate. They made me feel like I was imagining things. She ordered a diagnostic mammogram to appease me, but said the uterine fibroids were more crucial at that point. So I agreed to uterine embolization, which left me in such excruciating pain that I was prepared to walk to the emergency room at 3 o'clock in the morning. Recovery took months; and barely shrunk the fibroids at all. I was finally able to schedule a mammogram and, lo and behold, that lump turned out to be a 2cm malignant tumor. They had the nerve to call me a year later to schedule my annual exam. Since then, I no longer schedule visits with independent clinicians.

I started seeing her when I moved to the Lehigh Valley and got pregnant with my daughter. I love the fact that I could make an appointment get seen quickly and not be shuffled around from doctor to doctor. I love the fact that each time I go I see her and only her, unlike these big practices where you can see 10 different doctors and none of them know who you are, why you're there or you'r medical history.

I was strung along for months trying treatments that didn't work, only to find that I needed surgery, which, because of the months of time wasting, could only be scheduled during THE most inconvenient time for me. The practice has too many patients to treat everyone with the kind of attention they need. I'm staying with the practice ONLY because of the surgeons. The practice itself makes me feel ignored, low-priority, and needy.
