The owner is absolutely lovely and the space they've curated is very inclusive, diverse, and exciting. There's everything from crotchet pokemon to psychedelic paintings. I loved learning that artists can apply to have their items there The shop is quite small, but you can spend a lot of time shopping - either taking in all the art on the walls or flipping through art in bins. It has a nice intimate environment that's welcoming and friendly I also like that it's off the beaten path in the heights. I wouldn't have found it had I not been driving by, but I'm so glad I did! It's part of a shopping center with a few other unique shops, so it does share parking with those. That being said, I got a parking spot right in front of the door (midday on wednesday). Most of my soaps and scarves were purchased from going on days where the studios are open to the public. One of my Frida paintings was purchased from one of the resident artists there. Just recently (Nov. 17, 2018), I volunteered as bartender for Winter Street Studios annual Winter Holiday Art Market (WHAM) I had a blast making and serving drinks. Art, awesome people, craft beer, cocktails, and wine. Umm, sounds like a lovely day to me!

They had food, alcohol freely flowing, a silent auction, and fashion show. Winter Street Studios was able to accommodate all of those things in different areas. The space is bright, open, and can easily be made into whatever you need as far as a space. Problems: -The parking was valet that night, but we opted to park ourselves. You have to walk over railroad tracks to get to the building and then through some gravel. On the way out we had to wait for a train to get to our car. The parking is definitely limited and the building was not at full capacity. - If this place is handicapped accessible then it's well hidden. There are stairs and gravel between parking and the 2nd floor space we were in. Drunk people were wobbly leaving. - The bathroom (yes singular) was a couple of rooms being used by both men and women. It was a little strange, but we worked it out. If there was another bathroom, no one found it. Even with all of that said, the space is great and you can do so much with it! I really liked that there was a DJ after the fashion show in one room and it was quieter in the silent auction section so you could choose your noise level! If you are looking for a place to rent out for a party/auction/benefit/etc... check this place out.

I'm shocked that we never heard about this place before. It made for a really good date night. We checked out the main attraction that we saw on Instagram but we also check out all of the other galleries as well. At least the ones that were open. The artist at the galleries were very friendly, and willing to tell us about their set up and everything they do. I had no idea this place has been here since the 1960s. We will definitely come back here in the future to check out more exhibits. I'm shocked and it's only $700 a month to rent a space. That's a really good deal. However, there's a five year waiting list which is quite long. So good luck with that.

Ok so I had my first ever tarot card reading with WBT (WitchBitchTarot) late this afternoon. I…read morerandomly saw her on TikTok and found her on YouTube later and booked a session. I went with the $30 fifteen minute so that I could get a feel for her and see if I liked her, trusted her to read me again, felt like she wasn't a charlatan and so on. She was friendly, on time, patient with me, gave me space and didn't rush me even though I'd only paid for a fifteen minute session and I rambled on as I do. I told her I only had one question and she did ask me to tell her what the actual question was.. at first I was iffy about that but after the reading I felt ok with it. You want to know if the person reading you can actually read your cards or if they need for you to spell things out for them and then they just shovel a bunch of shut your way. She gladly explained what each card she mentioned meant and didn't mind explaining things further when I didn't understand what she was trying to explain to me. On her page she says "I tell you what you need to know and not what you want to hear" and I believe that to be true. Thankfully. She also took questions with grace and explained other types of sessions she offers (because I asked) and I will use her again, but not too soon (her sort of signing off request/suggestion. Lastly I like that it was a FaceTime video and not just a phone call. It can be hard in this day and age when we can't all just come together in the same room so the FaceTime video made it a bit more personal and legit.
