I took an Uber from Downtown Philly to Pen Ryn Estate which took about 30 minutes. Somebody is there to direct cars where to go. I specifically heard the lady say "take the first left and keep going straight to River's Edge Garden Pavillion." What my Uber driver did was go all the way to the end and turn left. So, I second-guessed myself. I got dropped off at the wrong venue and I had to walk a loooooong way to the correct venue and I was late for the wedding (I was actually on time but late for my standards). I ran into other wedding guests attending somebody else's wedding trying to find their venue as well. This place is massive! We're talking acres of land. I made it to a shed and I asked somebody if I was at the right place - I had to be because I already passed 2 incorrect venues out of 3. And the gentleman told me to hop on the golf cart that would take me to River's Edge where the wedding is at. The golf cart driver asked if I was taking an Uber after the wedding and he told me what address to put in so I can get picked up directly from the wedding venue - which I found very helpful when I was ready to go back to my hotel late at night! The venue was nice. Since it was outdoors, you had to deal with some elements: strong winds, bugs and it got chilly close to sunset. You get a view of the river. Right behind us is a covered area like a tent where the reception is at. But it looked elegant inside. I'm very impressed by the food. The variety and quality of the food were fantastic. Probably the some of the best food I've had at a wedding. I was getting full during cocktail hour. The couple has Latin and Italian roots and their heritage were celebrated through food and I loved that. When I RSVP'ed for the wedding, I sent in my meal selection and I had forgotten I chose chicken. And I was filled with fear because catered chicken tends to be dry - not the one at this wedding. I enjoyed it so much. The wedding cake was made by a contestant on Food Network. But the spread for dessert was also fabulous. Overall, an impressive place for a wedding.

The interesting fact is that two other weddings were taking place on the same day and none of us were aware of the other. Our concierge Danny is what carries the weight of the high star rating. Never in my over 25 years of attending formal events and weddings. Have I encountered a service person of his caliber. Danny was there for whatever whenever he was needed he made sure the bride and groom and their parents had the best service possible. Danny alone deserves 10 stars. It is because of him. Pen Ryn received a five star review from me had it not been for him my review would've been four stars. The mansion itself is lovely and offers several rooms to spread out activities and guests. The bartenders were friendly quick to serve and professional. The food came out hot full of flavor and rivaled most of what I've experienced in the past. The bridal suite was adequate, but definitely could have been bigger and more accommodating. There were only a few mirrors for a big bridal party to take turns with. This is definitely a bridal suite for a break from your crowd and pre-ceremony photos not actually sufficient for getting ready for your big day. The main dining area was definitely large enough to handle a huge crowd comfortably - the tables were dressed and set perfectly. The chairs comfortable enough for those who opted not to partake in dancing or activities. The large dance floor complete with a raised DJ platform made dancing the night away an ease. Both indoor and outdoor places to sit and relax when not at your table, as well as the grounds, gave the crowd room to mingle without being on top of one another. Pen Ryn is a pricier venue and do I think it is worth its price tag? I cannot say for sure. There are certainly other venues with equal amenities, similar service options and on food on par with Pen Ryn. But do they have a Danny?

The communication between the event managers and my family was off. My family and I were left feeling like our concerns and experience about services was belittled and disregarded. With the sensitivity about what today was to myself and my family (My sister's funeral and repass) we feel like services was unacceptable. I will not be using the venue moving forward, at all. The venue space was set up nicely, though.

WORST EXPERIENCE- AVOID at all cost! This couple may seem nice upon meeting, however they are are…read moreuntrustworthy and rude... they charged us in-full and never provided us any services. Our wedding date was scheduled one week before the pandemic occurred, when the city shut down... it was scheduled for March 21, 2020. We were crushed that we had to postpone, but knew it was no one's fault. Because we could not foresee the city shutdown, we paid Deibert the full amount a few days prior, in addition to our deposit. Every other vendor we worked with gave us our payment back (minus the deposit)... because it was the decent thing to do. Every vendor except for Deibert. They kept all of our payment, were unavailable to schedule us in 2022 since they were too busy, and wanted to charge us more money for our wedding shoot. In the end, we gave them thousands of dollars, received no photography services, and they had the audacity to feel entitled to keep all of our payments for no services rendered. And in the meantime, they opened a larger studio during the pandemic... wonder how many others they took advantage of during a hard time. I thought they were decent people during our first encounter, however they proved to us that they were capable of one of the most unethical and lowest business practices I have had the displeasure of witnessing. If you are hoping to work with honest folks, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

We absolutely loved working with them from start to finish and cannot recommend them highly enough. From the very beginning, they took the time to get to know us on a personal level and made to align on what we wanted for our photos, setting up an in-person meeting and multiple check-ins prior to the day. One the day, they were the perfect mix of take charge and creative. For example, when my big extended family all needed to have pictures taken, they got through the list efficiently, managed all of the requests, and kept us on schedule. They also came up with fun, creative, and unique ideas for picture that turned out amazingly - our venue even has one of their photos hanging up. They captured the candids and special moments, but made sure we had the right amount of posed photos on top of that too. They knew exactly what to do! They are also just really enjoyable and easy to be around and work very well as a team, which made it seem like they managed to be everywhere taking pictures at once.

First, Kristen is an absolute professional. Getting to work with her was one of the highlights of our wedding. She answered all of our questions (and trust me...we had questions!) quickly, thoroughly, and with warmth that made us feel like we were the only couple she was working with. I cannot recommend her enough. Second, CBD and Kristen offered us several different price levels for our wedding which was hugely helpful. We ended up choosing a less expensive package so that we could invite more guests given our budget. Third, CBD was wonderful about allergies. I am gluten and dairy free & several of my guests had severe allergies to other items. Everyone I talked to after the wedding said they felt taken care of! We had a wonderful experience and recommend them highly!

Kristen was unbelievable-- incredibly responsive and took on way more than most day of coordinators (calling vendors, creating the timeline, recommending vendors, previewing decor set up). She made recommendations and was honest when she really thought something wasn't a good idea, but at the end of the day she let me come up with the concept and executed it beautifully. In addition to Kristen, the rest of the staff was incredible. I had a number of guests come up to me and tell me the service was outstanding-- better than most top notch restaurants. We even had our own personal concierge, Zakiya, who seemed to know what we needed even before we asked. We actually got to eat at our wedding! Lastly, the food. It was delicious and again, we got so many compliments. We loved the food so much we ate the packed up leftovers the next night for dinner. I also met the owner Carl while I was in the planning process and he was very, very nice. Cons: The team did not deliver on multiple things we talked about ahead of our reception. Our sweetheart table did not have flowers on it as discussed (only greens which I'm sure is much cheaper) and they did not use pillars to display flowers on the sides of the table. The team who set up was nice, but they ran late even though they were aware of the allotted time for them to set up. We were planning to rent additional vases for a couple hundred dollars and they did not end using them. The venue made sure I was aware of this too (because they used their vases instead). Since they did not use them, I asked to be refunded for what I paid for the additional vases (nothing else) and was basically ignored. I was told they were sending a check, never received one... then followed up a couple times and never heard back. After spending thousands and thousands of dollars on flowers with them, it is mind boggling to me that they cannot return a couple hundred dollars that we are owed. Our wedding reception was last May (2021) so they have had plenty of time. Does not seem ethical to me at all and because of this I will not use them for any future events or recommend them.

It was everything we wanted, plus so much more. I'm getting my bouquet preserved because it was just too beautiful not to. Most importantly they're able to do photos for foreign documents that have different dimension requirements. Location is in the basement and getting there sometimes feels a bit shady, but it will get you there. Never have had a wait, and I'm usually in and out in fifteen minutes with pictures ($15) ready in tow.
