Luna is our stealthy introvert, a shy senior kitty who prefers hiding in dark corners and appearing only when the vibe feels right. Most sitters never even catch a glimpse of her. But somehow, Leanne not only spotted her, she connected with her. That alone deserves a medal. Our other cat is a full-time chaos goblin. Loud, opinionated, endlessly curious, and ready to test boundaries just for fun. Leanne kept up with their antics, gave them the attention they demand (on their terms, of course), and even managed to keep them entertained and out of too much trouble. We loved the daily updates, the photos, and the way Leanne really got each of our cats' unique quirks. It's rare to find a sitter who truly understands cats, especially when they're as weird and wonderful as ours. Leanne nailed it. Highly recommend for anyone whose pets come with character. It's important to us to be able to have the dogs stay at home when we're away so having someone come to the house is absolutely incredible. Lauren and her staff have always been great with our dogs and even when something hasn't 'gone well' (let's just say intestinal distress) they've been great about cleaning up and contacting us. It's also great that since they come to our house instead of boarding the dogs we kind of get a built in house sitter too-not that there's any reason to break in (besides, the dogs would love a chance to sic balls). If you're tired of boarding your dogs and live in the Morris County area I wholeheartedly recommend Canine Concierge. Your pets will be well cared for and won't be so stressed when you come home. I envy Lauren and her business...sometimes I wish I could spend each day just taking care of dogs...

We found Lauren and could NOT be happier with her service!! Updates daily, our Joey got to play and go on walks every day, we were afraid he wouldn't want to come home! I would recommend Lauren and Canine Concierge to anyone. Please note she prefers smaller dogs (under 35-40 lbs) but she is very amenable and flexible.

Greetings again fellow Yelpers...... Although it has taken…read moresome time for Ownership to offer a rebuttal, it finally was posted. In order to continue to provide you with factual, informative feedback, this latest evaluation of that response is now posted. Ownership contends that the "pack" is walked 3 x per day. When closed circuit video was operable, clearly, the dogs within the large play area were not taken outside; this was verifiable after watching the camera feed continuously over an 8 hr period. (There is insufficient staff to walk all of the dogs, on leash, within the nearby wooded area.) Sadly, the dogs continue to relieve themselves directly onto the play floor. The suggestion that existing smells on the floor contribute to the triggering of relieving themselves is lame at best. Considering that the play floor is sanitised regularly, and that it is a sealed floor, the dogs are simply compelled to relieve themselves onto the floor; there are no lingering smells. Don't forget, a single staff member is assigned to immediately clean up after the dogs "go". With regard to dog owners using the view window to check up on their furry friends, that window is limited to the small dog play area. Unless dog owners intend to camp out at the one window, it's unreasonable to suggest that the one view window provides proof of the dogs being walked, the lack of a closed circuit TV feed notwithstanding. TV feeds for dog owners was taken down several years ago; you should be concerned about that decision.

Upon picking my dog up, I was immediately told my dog needs training. My dog has been trained. When my dog got in the car, my passenger seat was immediately filthy (see pic below) and I noticed my dogs paws and elbows had some sticky brownish substance on them and he smelled terrible. Guess that's why they want to charge you 25.00 to give the dog a bath which is what I did the moment we got home. It took my dog 48hrs to return to his normal/playful self and 5 days later, he now has kennel cough. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I had a much better experience with K-9 resorts also in Fairfield.

Disturbing Treatment of Animals & Unprofessional Management…read more Our experience with Barks Bed & Biscuit was incredibly disappointing and concerning -- both in how they treat animals and how they handle hiring. I feel obligated to share this to warn other pet owners and job seekers. To begin, the way the dogs are treated is unacceptable. I witnessed staff dragging dogs by their collars back to their kennels. Employees were also yelling at the dogs to "shut up," including the manager herself, who said this during my daughter's interview. That level of disrespect and impatience coming from leadership sets a terrible example for the rest of the staff and shows a complete lack of compassion. The area where dogs are taken out to use the bathroom is just small pebbles and rocks -- no grass, no real comfort for the animals. The smell was overpowering, clearly not maintained properly, and honestly, I'm worried it could pose a health risk. It was strong enough to make someone gag. My daughter only saw one dog briefly engaged with -- they threw a ball once or twice, then ignored them. That's the extent of the "playtime" they supposedly offer. The rest of the dogs just stood around waiting to go back in. two younger employees were vaping, and one even asked an older staff member to buy them a vape. This level of behavior is completely unprofessional, especially in an environment that should prioritize safety, cleanliness, and responsibility. Now onto the hiring situation with my daughter, which was completely mishandled. She applied for a job, was told she was able to come in for an interview, and asked to return the following week for a one-hour session to see how she worked with animals. She completed that, did well, and was told she had the position. Based on that, she officially gave her two weeks' notice at her current job. She was excited to move into a role where she could work with animals -- something she's passionate about. Then, out of nowhere, she received a casual text message saying they weren't hiring anymore due to things "slowing down." Here's the exact message: "Hey ______ ! Meg decided not to hire anyone else since we are getting slower; there won't be enough hours to give out. once we get busier meg or I will reach out to you! If you are interested in doing overnights then I can send you some info for them! Thank you for coming in last week:) " This is how my daughter replied: Hi, Thanks for the message. After giving it some thought, I've decided I'm no longer interested in moving forward with the position. I appreciate the opportunity to come in last week, but I did find the process a bit unprofessional, especially with the sudden change after my time and effort. I wish you and the team all the best moving forward. They haven't even made the effort to respond to my daughter and apologize. My daughter was devastated. Not only had she been told she had the job, but she was also counting on that income -- especially after just taking her pet to an emergency vet visit that cost a lot. Now, because of their carelessness and poor communication, she'll have no money coming in and has to deal with the fallout of leaving her previous job for an opportunity that was taken away with a text. Between the neglectful treatment of animals, the unsanitary conditions, the unprofessional and immature staff, and the way they carelessly misled a young applicant, I would never trust Barks Bed & Biscuit with my pet -- or recommend anyone consider working there.
