In the window they had beautiful display of jewelry, realism well done quality portrait and plants. Also I believe there was a sign that they do portraits on commission. So I thought ok, it must be artist's studio and an art gallery . We were greeted with welcome hello and if we have a question, to feel free to ask? We looked around I was wowed by beautiful, quality, artisan made jewelry and craft. Prices were very reasonable. Space was spacious and welcoming. I saw artwork that one of my friends might be very interested to purchase. I ask the owner (who greeted us) about that piece. He told us all about it, the process of work, materials and background of the artist. I highly recommend to visit this gallery, great energy, quality artwork and friendly owner (no snobbish attitude staff that you might encounter in NYC galleries).

I am thrilled to not only have the opportunity to purchase an Amazing art book featuring the…read morebeautiful work of Greg Hildebrant but to have Greg illustrate an original sketch within the book for me was a dream come true! It wasn't just any original drawing, but seeing his 911 tribute drawing inside one of his books I asked if he could draw my son, who is an FDNY Fireman, in the piece. The silhouette of my son wearing his fire helmet wound up be a finely rendered portrait of him. It brought tears to my eyes to see such a personal commission rendered by one of my art heroes! Thank you Greg and thank you to your staff that made this dream become a reality. I am beyond words on how beautiful this piece turned out.

Two thumbs up to Gallery 51!…read more My cousin took me on a walking tour of Montclair a few weekends ago and we stumbled upon this little place. The vibrant work of Rasika Reddy caught my eye in the window so we went inside. The space was small and intimate and the gallery owner (and assistant) were both gracious and welcoming... Gallery 51 says they showcase a new artist every few months. If you are ever in Montclair and have the time, it is worth passing by to have a look. There is also a lovely flower shop and a very nice beading & craft store a few doors down... a sweet trifecta of aesthetic and creative goodness on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Attended Painted Grape for a Open Studio paint night with my bachelorette party. We had a great…read moretime! We each choose the same photo, so although open studio refers to "fend for yourself", our instructor Christy helped us through every step. She was awesome! Christy was a great teacher, took photos for us and even encouraged our lack luster artistic abilities. If you are doing an open studio with a group, i do recommend choosing the same photo unless you are ALL artistically inclined and don't need instructions. This place is BYOB which was great for us, however we were told that cups were provided. This was not the case. It was difficult to scrounge up 6 cups for us to enjoy our wine, eventually it worked out. If you are bringing your own drinks, I would recommend bringing cups too just to be safe. I would recommend this place and would be back.
