We absolutely love our YMCA of DeKalb County!! It's a great place to go. My kids like to meet up with friends and do activities wether it may be basketball, swim or lift weights. The atmosphere is great, the staff is nice, the facility is clean. People pay a certain amount of money to get a membership. This morning I looked online at the pool hours it said they had open swim from 1pm to 7pm. So me and my grandma get ready and we go down there. We get there in our bathing suits and the lady at the front desk lets us in and neglected to tell us that the pool is closed from 1 to 4. We walked all of the way down here to find out by someone that don't work there that the pool is closed. We wasted gas driving down there. They need to fix the pool for maintenance is what they said. Why couldn't they do that when the pool isn't open? Why didn't they tell us at front desk? This is at auburn ymca, if the pool isn't open and is closed down for a certain amount of time, when the pool is supposed to be open they need to fix their website. Also this has happened before to me and my grandma they seriously need to get their stuff straight. read more

I have been a member for a few years now. I like the equiment, the set up, and the staff. For around 300 a year, you get a nice pool, showers that work and are cleaned regulary, and a building that is usually not too hot. MY only real complaint is that every once in a while you have to deal with an unfriendly old man who thinks he owns the whole place just cuz he is old. But I guess there are those types at any Y. Also, there should be less emphasis on the swimteam and more on members who pay using the pool. They could use more free weights at their primary location, but half the building is reserved for kids. read more
