I love the decor if the restaurant, its very Japanese red and black and comfortable. There are now 2 Ichiban restaurants in Cardiff, both equally as good as each other but on opposite sides of town. They do great lunch time specials and offer a discount for take aways.

My friends got salmon and the Baked Sicilian Caponata, glazed mozzarella and Parmesan, rocket, extra virginolive oil and garlic crostini respectively, and were both also very pleased. Fair warning, the salmon came with just piles of rice. But it was all great. Staff was wonderfully friendly, and it is a generally cute, open and airy place.
