The evening service people were so nice, answered our questions, and checked often. Breakfast - the buffet was great! Upon arrival we were greeted by the bar staff and a waiter took us to our table. The view was really nice as it overlooked the busy street of Bristol. I ordered the Salmon Bento Box with the chicken Gyoza and tuna Sashimi and my mum ordered the traditional Ramen. The food was quick to come out and it was elegantly placed, the miso soup was part of my Bento Box and was traditional and tasted exceptional. it's important for the rice to be perfect as much as the protein and every element was prepared with care and tasted really good; the salmon hand roll however included the salmon being a bit squished which diminished it's structural integrity but with it being freshly prepared, it was a factor I could overlook. My mum's ramen was spiced well so that it was not overpowering and they even included chilli paste on the side in case she wanted it hotter but there was no need. But I had nothing to fear - with two vegetarian options on the lunch time menu, at least I had something to choose from (Albeit a standard veggie burger or a goats cheese tart - two 'classics') and since this was a restaurant for meat eaters I could hardly complain! My burger was delicious, served with tasty chunky chips and washed down with hearty cider. My friend's roast dinners looked fabulous too. The service was very welcoming and the atmosphere was just what you want on a Sunday - full of fun and laughter.

My partner ordered a steak cooked on a hot stone tablet right in front of him - similar to the way you can get hot plates in Indian restaurants, except this actually allowed him to partially cook the steak himself. As an occasional vegetarian there wasn't a great amount of choice for me to pick a main course but the starters and desserts were divine! It is quite pricey but I would come back for the chocolate mouse alone and my partner can whole-heartedly vote for the sirloin steak!

Inside can only be summed up as quirky. There are 3 long tables with around 10 chairs on each and a few books about Asian food and art. It looks as if its been put together in a few hours, and it probably was. But again, I really like it. It works! Now onto the food: wow! They have a two course bento menu that changes daily and today it started with a tomatoes an cherry dish. Unfortunately I didn't get all the details of this dish, but essentially it was sliced tomatoes, cherries and a delicious olive oil dressing. It was really refreshing and for somebody that doesn't love tomatoes, I demolished it! Unfortunately, but in true SKK fashion, they had run out of chicken for the main. So I had pan seared salmon instead: oh, go on then ;) That came with a courgette & parmesan pancake, cabbage with chorizo, wild rice and another cabbage dish. It was seriously good. On this particular occasion I wasn't in that much of a rush, but a server was there taking my order within about 2 minutes of me sitting down, and it was definitely less than 5 minutes after that when my dish arrived at the table - now that's service! This one I thought was slightly below par for Wagamama; the rice was a tiny bit oily and there wasn't a great many tofu chunks in it. But still tasty and it kept me going the rest of the evening, which was the main point of the exercise. They vindicated themselves with a lovely juice - blueberry with ginger and I think lime(?). Absolutely delicious, and the blueberry chunks were so thick on the ground that I soon had to abandon the straw as it just wasn't working. Being in a top-floor food court in Cabot Circus, there's a lot of competition nearby (you have to walk past Yo! Sushi! to get here), which might be why they've included some conventional tables and chairs in addition to the usual bench seating.

The eat in option is nice, it's decorated very tastefully and you feel like you should be spending more than you are (which is always the best way round to do it!). When we came one door was bolted shut and the opening was too narrow without unbolting the other door...a bit of a hassle. We had to do the same again to get out as the staff had bolted it closed again. Once inside there was no place for the pram. The table seating in the rear is down the corridor and up several steps. If you have a baby in a pram this is definitely a take out place only...if you can get in the door to splash out on bread and toppings.
