In a city filled with self-serve frozen yoghurt options, I'd definitely recommend a visit to Yo-Zen on Burke Road.
This place is aesthetically pleasing; lots of white space, painted brick, wood panels, beautiful stained glass windows at the front... some graffiti-style art, and a projection of mainstream music videos playing on the wall. Sure, why not. The staff here are lovely, and allowed us a little taste-test of as many flavours as we wanted. Did I try them all? Yes. Did they fill me up adequately, as the generous testers were shot-glass-sized? Yes. Did I still purchase a whole cup to myself? Duh.
The flavours are a little more adventurous than some, with salted caramel, lemon myrtle, and honey being stand-outs. However, the yoghurt here tastes a little sweeter and feels a little more heavy than, say, Frozen By A Thousand Blessings. The toppings are fairly standard - delicious! but standard - and the price is perhaps a little steeper than some, not as steep as somewhere like Cacao Green.
This isn't my favourite Fro-Yo place in Melbourne, however upon sharing that opinion with some friends recently, I was all but tarred and feathered and abandoned in the street. read more
