We left before finishing our stay. When we got there they said our stay didn't include meals when we paid extra for it & the older lady who seemed like the manager told us to double check -- but with some sort of attitude or entitlement. I later realized something was definitely off with her and her attitude toward us because it felt very cold and unwelcoming. We were handed the key without an explanation of any amenities, where things are, activities or even telling us where the room was. We had to ask for that information and again, were answered with an attitude, and just told us the activities were listed on a sign, but we wanted the packet that the guests before us had gotten. Room 1: We went to our door and as soon as we opened it huge dust bunnies. I was already grossed out. The room was extremely how and we couldn't change the temperature, bugs and bird feces on the window overlooking the view outside, bidet did not work, dead bugs and toenails on the carpet and bathroom floor and trash in the trash can. They seemed to have only changed the sheets. Honestly, I have never had such a bad experience and I have stayed in hostels before. When we called to voice our concerns they told us to go downstairs and we asked if we should brings our bags/if we were changing rooms and they weren't sure. We spoke to the older lady again and she asked "what's the problem, the room is too hot?" & when we told her the list of other issues she rolled her eyes and seemed annoyed. She gave us another room & barely seemed apologetic. Room 2: The AC thankfully worked, but as soon as I walked into the bathroom everything was sticky and there were dirt foot prints everywhere. They still had a bunch of dust bunnies. It seems like no one vacuums here. Rugs are also all stained. Do they even clean the rooms before people check in? I took pictures and asked the same lady if we can just get it cleaned because I didn't want to be a bother and she said yes, my apologies. Staff: There seems to be one staff doing cafe and dining. Dinner was busy and she was rushing back and forth alone. One person downstairs and no one in the locker room to clean. Locker room: disgusting -- NO ONE FLUSHES THE TOILET. There is either no home training from the guests or the toilet didn't flush, but what I saw was disgusting. The waterfall downstairs has brown water, disgusting. Juices are crazy expensive for a small cup ($15). The next day we called around 9:30AM to ask if we can be refunded the second night so we can leave (we didn't want to stay a second night) & they said they couldn't do anything about it and we couldn't be refunded but that was a lie because when we did decide to leave later that day and spoke to the next manager (the second set of people working the afternoon/night shift was a new kid and a man in a blue polo shirt -- we spoke to the man in the polo shirt and he was AMAZING) this manager told us he couldn't do anything about it because it was after 10:30AM. The morning person lied to us! We left after dinner after finding a hair on my shrimp. In the picture below it's on the plate because when I picked up to show my husband it landed on the plate and stayed there. When I told the person serving us she just said "oh". The issue with the staff here is that they mostly seem clueless or unapologetic. When I would see the older front desk lady she wouldn't look at us or just glance at us -- no "hello" nothing. I greeted her. The night manager (man in the polo) he was SO SWEET! Greeted us so happily, even if he was attending someone else, he would make sure to wave at us and smile. Greeted us when we came and went. Took care of us real well & honestly wish we spoke to him earlier that day. Amenities: Fitness room looked fine, we didn't use many of the machines. Walls stained with brown stuff. Activity room was fun: 2 ping pong tables, darts (most of the darts are missing), pool table, connect 4, jenga, blank slate, game station (but you need to log into your Microsoft account). Yoga: seemed to only be in the afternoon Pool: big, but always seemed so hot to walk into. Massages & extra seemed crazy expensive.

Sweaty, floors from the condensation in both yoga & meditation room

Touted as self care & luxury- check before you come. I arrived during a heat wave to find the facility without AC. That is a major caveat ,patrons should be notified before arrival,as this greatly affects a stay here.I was not notified. With a consistent indoor temp of 80-82° ACTIVITIES WERE LIMITED. Every room in the facility was damp because of the lack of ventilation. Yoga room very hot and wet, meditation room extremely hot and uncomfortable to sit for meditation , using the steam room or hot tub also not advisable because there was no where to cool down afterwards . With no AC the treatment rooms were hot as well meaning it canceled mud treatment because with heat lamps on you the temp would be unbearable . Dining area equally hot. They appear to be severely understaffed which is reflected in the upkeep of various areas. My bathroom sink floor and shower had several clumps of very long hair that clearly were there from before and we're not mine . To spend a large sum of one's hard-earned money for a subpar facility was extremely disappointed . The three dining staff and the massage therapist I encountered were lovely but also seems to be Fielding questions from other disappointed guests. No management to be found only helpless, practiced Apologies as I checked out. KNOW B4 YOU GO!

This was my robe? Do these people not believe.in bleach?

This place was absolutely the most DISTURBING AND disgusting, spooky and bizarre place I have ever set foot in. I will provide proof of everything that I'm claiming. This must have been a school previously. When I went into the spa, the first thing I noticed was that the robes were not clean. The first robe that I got had dirty spots on the neck and the second one had a stain on it. When I was brought back to my massage the massage sheets were absolutely disgustingly filthy, it looked like it was used to clean motor oil. I wouldn't even want to put my dog on it. I am not exaggerating. Please look at the videos. I cannot believe that no one has taken pictures of the filth that is this place. Because this did not happen overnight. I went into the changing room and the changing room looked like a massacre had occurred. There were stains all over the carpet, just look at the evidence. The spa pool was stained and dirty...video with voiceover provided ... This was all so bad that it was actually entertaining. I brought this up to the front desk's attention and they acted like it was just normal, they said well we would just put a towel over the sheets as if that's any better. But the towels were so dirty and stained that I would not even mop my floors with something so grotesque. If you think I'm exaggerating please look at my photos. This place needs to be shut down and redone and fumigated, because did I say there was Ant bait and rat traps all over the floor? Think I'm lying. Look at the pictures. As I am sitting in the front lobby waiting for my refund because there is no way in hell I will sleep in this place, I was sitting down and noticed disgusting and questionable stains on the waiting room sofa. This place cannot be a real place, this has to be a front for something else, because there is no way in hell that any of these reviews are telling the truth if they're saying that this place was clean, or hygienic. This is a BIOHAZARD

I was very apprehensive about my stay given the reviews. However, I am so glad I went. I was already resolved to make the best out of the situation, and I was so pleased when the experience turned out to be exactly what I needed. The King room was spacious with a gorgeous view of the lake. The property is simply magnificent. I took multiple daily walks, and spent a lot of time gazing at and reading by the lake, and it was fantastic. The yoga and meditation classes were lovely, with large floor to ceiling windows facing the lake. The pool hot tub, sauna, steam room and cold plunge were eorking, clean and spacious, and frequently I had them to myself. The fresh juices were also great. I did not eat in the restaurant- I'm not a vegetarian, and without a package, the food was pricey for what it was. The only real poor experience that had was with a very rude young male server in the restaurant who, when I ordered a glass of Prosecco for my brunch in my room, said "Wine huh? I guess it's 5 o'clock somewhere". He was clearly confused and thought I was at work instead of him. It almost made me wonder if racial bias played into the scenario. The massages were behind schedule with the therapists also doing check in , and back to back appointments, so the the cracks at Yo1 show in the service. However, as a NYC commuter by bus, I door dashed my meals, and one one evening took a taxi for a dinner out. Thus using the people services as little as possibles, the view and amenities did all of the work and I had a great time. I was there Friday-Monday, and it was the relaxing kid and pet free retreat I needed. Will go back.

Had a fun weekend escape for my birthday spent Sunday/Monday with check out on Tuesday! I love the grounds as all the views were breathtaking. I had a few services done including Ayurvedic treatments. The vegan food was amazing & a big shout out to Michael at the front desk & Robert in the restaurant! All the staff were friendly & attentive to all of our needs! I recommend the salt scrub as it left my body feeling so relaxed & soft! I also love, love, love the heated jetted whirlpool in the swimming pool area. We meditated in the meditation & prana rooms & played sound bowls in the activity area of the wellness areas on the ground floor. Our stay was short & the weather was cold for early March but the experience was nice. I recommend asking about tax & gratuity for any of the services so you won't be startled at the end by the bill. We went off season so it wasn't busy but I'm not complaining as it seemed we had the entire place to ourselves! If it had 15 guests there at the same time that was a lot, as I only saw about 4-5 guests. The best feature for me by far was the heated toilet seat in our double king room overlooking Bailey's lake! Love it

This is truly a 5 star resort! Actually, it should be 5 diamonds. Every detail in this place was thoughtfully curated. First, the location is perfection. The spa is located next to a beautiful tranquil lake, with lots of geese and wild life roaming around. As soon as you enter the gates, and drive up to the hotel, you're transported to a different reality. The hustle and bustle of everyday life literally fades away in the rear view mirror. The building itself is modern, clean, and very inviting. The facility is super clean and spotless. This place opened in 2018, it's still pretty impressively shiny and new. The rooms are very well designed and induces relaxation and puts you into a very zen state of mind. The grounds of the property have spots designed for meditation, with fire pits, benches, and inviting contemplative spots scattered throughout the property. The main STAR here is the therapeutic treatments. The acupuncture, deep tissue massage...were absolutely ahhhmazing. It's an all inclusive facility, and tip was included in the price of the package, however the massage therapists were so talented, I had to tip them extra. The massage I received was comparable, perhaps even better than, other massages for $250 (plus tip) in NYC. The stand out surprise at this facility? THE FOOD. Full disclosure-I am a carnivore. I was a bit skeptical about eating vegetarian for the entire stay. But the food was GOOD! Really good! The flavors were well balanced, and the freshness of each dish was evident in the crisp, garden fresh vegetables used in every dish. This place is an amazing oasis of relaxation and tranquility, located just 2+ hours from the chaos of NYC. Everyone- every.single.person.living in NYC. should make a trip out here. It'd make people less stressed and maybe a littler nicer. Honestly, this place is a much needed haven from city life. I HIGHLY recommend this place and cannot wait to come back here again!!!

The three of us came here during slow season in February and had a fantastic time. We took advantage of the yoga and meditation classes, and we did a mud therapy session. The food was mostly vegan and gluten-free with great portions and wonderful, taste, and quality. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious overlooking the lake. The only negatives were that the pool was cold, and the hot tub was not working, but there were saunas in the locker rooms. The tea, café and juice bar reasonably priced.

I had a wonderful experience here! As part of my birthday gift I treated myself to a night here to get away. The yoga and meditation classes were amazing and I loved the juice bar. I have two small kids so it was nice to experience 24 hours of peace and quiet.

Do not book a stay here! Unclean and poorly maintained. Food is horrible. It appears to be microwave food. No service whatsoever.

I first went to Hemlock Spa this summer for a Swedish massage while staying in nearby Cochecton. Oh…read moremy gosh- was the experience to die for! The entire staff is so welcoming and friendly, the massage was relaxing and soothing, and after the massage I was invited to step outside. Awaiting me was a luxurious sauna, outdoor showers, Kniepp walk (which involves walking through water and over stones and moss), and a cozy seating area surrounded by lush greenery. I had never felt so relaxed before in my life! I walked out of there with noodly legs and a glowing face. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that a month later I gifted my boyfriend a massage at Hemlock for his birthday; he loved it! Thank you to all the lovely people who work at the spa, (especially Katie!)
