They did all of the normal things, sure, and the bathrooms and carpets and such are all spic and span. But they dusted everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. They got every single dog hair out of our sofa, they washed windows, cleaned every glass door to crystal clarity, washed walls and every baseboard and every bit of trim. They did the insides of our kitchen appliances, asked what we needed and took care and time to do the job right. And the best part? I've just finished a long work day and one thing I'm not doing right now is cleaning my kitchen. I'm able to relax, take a deep breath (it smells amazing in here, btw), and just be. That's worth the cost (which was absolutely reasonable!) all on its own.

They were here for several hours making sure everything was just right and they offered a walk-through at the end to review their work. They also left a thank you card and thank you gifts that included, hand soap, sanitizer, face masks, tissues and air freshener (see the photo). The only down side for me was the price point for a small home and knowing others had estimated less (only had two bedrooms of the three cleaned so I could keep my dog in one of the rooms-my decision). Regardless, I'd hire them back in a minute due to their professionalism, extremely thorough work and great personalities.

Because of the opportunity given to me by Yasheaka Oakley, I've been able to secure another internship. Currently, I am interning for one of the world's best cruise lines called Princess Cruises and I can honestly say that without this experience on my resume, I would've NEVER gotten this position. During the interview, I spent most of my time talking about my experience at YOakleyPR and how it basically got my "foot in the door" for HR. And that's what I love about this company: it gives motivated and hard working individuals an opportunity to put something on their resume. YOakleyPR was my first real internship. I had done a lot of on campus work at my university, but not work that truly fell in to the public relations role. YOakley gave me the opportunity to learn what it was like to work from home, support nonprofits and multitask for clients (as well as what it was like to work with strong headed clients who may not always listen). As a recent graduate, I appreciated the flexibility and excitement that surrounded my role. Everyone was excited to be doing the work they've been assigned because we all felt like we were making a difference by supporting YOakley's mission to make public relations an asset for the nonprofit organizations we served. I did some research on the company and saw that they often engage in door to door selling, which is fine but I am not interested in doing that so I called the office to ask so that I could save both the company and myself some time if that's what they expected me to do. I will note there was no mention of door to door sales on the job description. I called and asked if any part of the training process or the job itself required door to door sales and the woman on the phone assured me that they did not engage in cold calling or door to door sales, now feeling much better about the situation I decided to go. Now to be fair they were very clear about their expectations in the actual interview, which to my dismay included door to door sales. While I respect the clarity in the interview I didn't appreciate being mislead into showing up. I asked very clearly on the phone and they did not answer honestly, perhaps they thought they could convince me. I anticipate that their response will be that they do not employ the door to door sales method because they instead go to clients off a preferred client list. However, this is clearly semantic difference and they most likely knew what I meant on the phone. I understand that door to door sales doesn't sound attractive on a job description but I believe it's better to be as honest and as up front as possible. The job search process can be very time consuming so I really don't think it's fair to be unclear with potential candidates.
