Anyway, without hesitation he referred me to "a great little Thai place around the corner". The Thai Cottage is unassuming from the street and a reasonably plain layout inside as well. I would compare Thai Cottage to the well known Vietnamese establishments, Quan Thanh & Trang in Hardgrave Rd, West End (see my review of Trang)- very similar style with good , cheap honest, and importantly, authentic Thai food. My chicken choo chee was a tasty red curry base served with jasmine rice. The vegetables had been nicely prepared, for example, the carrot was thinly sliced not big thick rounds like you sometimes find. My lunch was accompanied by a pot of jasmine tea and the bill came to the princely sum of only $12.50
