It's a niche exercise facility obviously...you're basically coming there for hot yoga -- the regular class, slow flow, candlelight or beginner - all those are pretty self explanatory. They also do lots of workshops that are fun and generally on the weekends. Their sound system always seems on point- never too loud or too soft. Each teacher has their own style of playlist but I usually love all the music choices here. if you haven't take yoga classes (esp hot yoga classes) you may balk at prices but from going to other places, their prices are some of the most reasonable in the city. And if you're not sure and are new you can try the "10 days for $10" special where you can try out as many classes as you like in 10 daysfor 10$. It's hot in the studio (seems to go anywhere from the 80s to over 100)so bring a mat sized towel (and maybe a small one too)a long with your mat cuz you're probably gonna sweat! Don't have one? bring a beach towel - that works too! or rent or buy one from the studio. You can also rent or buy mats, and they sell other little accessories and water. Props for class are free for use. Only thing to remember is there's no showers-just changing rooms and bathrooms, and parking is pretty much street-only (with a lot of it being metered.) Even in the dead of winter, my best friends and I made a commitment to attending hot yoga sessions. When we arrived, we walked into the facility, and there were areas to place our belongings and shoes. The room we did yoga in was large, and had mirrors lining the walls. The classes were packed, so spacing our mats was hard, but we made room. Shows how popular it was! We began with beginner sessions and moved up to harder classes. I had a great time and loved how calm I felt after! We also took classes that were simple flow and stretch. I have not returned since COVID but I did enjoy my time at this facility! The instructors were respectful of my space and gave good tips for modifications.

I'd always been a little intimidated by group fitness classes full of women, but one day I just said "screw it!" and I attended my first (FREE!) class. I expected a tough, full-body workout, and I got it! But what I DIDN'T expect was such a warm, welcoming, judgement-free, and encouraging group of women. The owners, Nikki and Christina, will know your name the second you walk in the door and can always be found chatting with clients. I can talk all about the physical results I've experienced from barre classes (because they're there!), but it's so much more than that. It's a lifestyle studio. More importantly, I've gained confidence, I've found a workout that I look forward to doing, and I've gained some amazing friends. And, yeah, the first class is always free :)

I signed up for as many classes as my schedule would allow to get a sense of all that they offer here. Turns out, quite a bit. There are plenty of evening and weekend classes that fit my schedule, but weekday ones, too. They also offer several different types of classes - different paces, different ability levels. The instructors, Jozi and Kelsey, are really skilled at what they do. With two instructors, you get variety in teaching styles and flows. It keeps my short attention span happy. Each class was challenging and left me feeling great afterward. The space is clean, comfortable and welcoming. The instructors are incredibly thoughtful in their direction of each class, down to the lighting and music.

I joined Afterglow about a year ago now and it has been such a wonderful experience. The classes I…read morego to are Barre and Bend and Chill and it is my favorite when they are scheduled back to back. The instructors are so kind and amazing! Corissa is my go to instructor but you can't go wrong with any of these amazing people. Bend and Chill is by far my favorite class at Afterglow because it really helps me reflect and meditate after a long day, week, or whatever it may be. I take a picture of my mindfulness card at every Bend and Chill class to help me continue to grow and focus on healing!

Was in town visiting family over the weekend and had to stop by and check out this location! I live…read morein Chicago and frequent the few locations that they have down here. I was blown away by this location and the experience my mom and I had! The facilities/waiting area outside the studio are incredible. The shower/locker/lounge area is MASSIVE. I know I'm used to the city locations that are pretty small, but the owner's of this one did a great job with decorating and making the space feel like and open. The showers and sinks and bathrooms are also extremely clean and well stocked with hair tools and other things that you would need to freshen up after a workout. We did a ritual yin class on Sunday morning and we had a great experience. The hands on assists weren't rushed and helped to loosen my muscles before and after the yoga (sometimes the ones I've gotten in Chicago are quick since the classes are usually packed). The yin class itself was fine - I wish there had been more challenging poses like pigeon to help open up our hips, but overall it was a relaxing class I'd definitely recommend it after a harder work out or a long week.

He's never done this before so it was a little fast paced for him. The amazing thing is that there's now a class that's not too fast and not too slow!! I think the yin class is too slow so think the align class would be a perfect in between. I imagine bf can learn the poses and gain confidence in the align classes so that we can eventually do the hot yoga class regularly!! The instructor was great! She's very motivational and. she told us we did good at the end of class. She also said she loved hearing our giggles which made me feel better since I thought I was disturbing the practice of others by laughing.

Upon entering the studio space, you are welcomed by both a warm, friendly staff and an even warmer studio. Temps can exceed 90 degrees giving you an opportunity to detox while working on your flexibility. Empower is a great studio for yogis of all abilities. I started my personal journey over 2 years ago as a first timer and the instructors were incredibly kind and patient. They also have some of the best rates around the city for hot yoga. Easy online booking makes getting into classes a breeze. They recently added some additional strength classes along with their more relaxed Gentle Yin offerings. Whether you are a first timer or an experienced yogi, you will find a place here.

This review is specifically for Tamar, whose class I took today. Overall a disappointing experience. The class was advertised as "mixed level" so I brought my mom, who is a beginner. Tamar offered several one or two modifications, but aside from that the class was anything but mixed level. My mom was discouraged and pretty disoriented. The instructor's cues were confusing and she didn't articulate any anatomical alignment points. No adjustments, and a pretty listless sequence, with the instructor forgetting the entire hip sequence on the left side. I understand these things can happen to anyone, and perhaps the instructor just had a bad day. But what I found most disappointing is the apathy toward her beginner student. She didn't follow up with my mom after class, nor did she ask her a single question, although it was pretty apparent my mom had struggled the entire time and left a bit disenchanted. As a yoga instructor myself, I would never leave a student unattended in this manner. I do have to say that the other instructors at this studio presented a much higher level, however, and I will continue to explore and encourage my mom to return to see others as well.

Natascha and all the instructors are very kind people who really listen to what you are trying to achieve from your yoga experience. I was hesitant to go into yoga at all because I'm heavier and self conscious. I've mainly attended classes with Natascha as the instructor and I love how she give pose variation options. If you need to ease up to a pose or want to try for more of a challenge. The space is ample and simple, parking is plentiful and easy to get to and the location can't be beat. Close to so many stores and other things that you really can't go wrong. It's not out of the way or in a too busy of an area. It's really a great place to check out and begin or expand your yoga practice.
