Yoga Loft Vaughan Just North of Rutherford on Islington is the most awkward yoga studio I have been to. There is definitely some problem with the whole set up especially it is going to be a studio that offers mostly hot yoga classes. In order to get to the change room and washroom, you have to walk through the practice room itself. So I was dragging my change of clothes, my purse, my mat through all these students lying in Sivasana waiting for the class to begin. There is only 1 change room.... an unisex change room. There are 2 washroom/shower combinations, so if you want to change into your yoga clothing, you need to go into one of those to change. I didn't realize until, a guy walked into the change room. I can imagine how it is going to be when the studio get busy.... lining up for everything with the guys? There are lockers in the change room for valuable, the front will provide you with the keys. Grand Opening Specials $5 per class, maybe you can drop by and see for yourself... just remember not to walk around in the change room naked! :) read more

Just wanted to share my experience with Yoga Loft since I joined about 3 weeks or so ago.. This place is very clean to start off with. The aroma smells and the heated room within seconds relaxed me.. The welcoming and interaction with owner Jennifer and her team is and has been a wonderful experience. I am a new to yoga and they have helped with my beginning poses even though I've taken some of the intermediate/advanced classes. Jennifer herself at the 5:30 pm core class yesterday took the time to show us how to build up to some of the more difficult poses they she was displaying which I thought was really awesome!! I'm excited to continue with the hot yoga at Yoga Loft and wanted to share my gratitude with them by posting a review on my thoughts of their services. I've been going to Yogaloft for 3 years starting with Fertility classes, prenatal classes once I got pregnant, and now Mommy & me yoga so, full circle I guess you could say! Mommy & me is particularly my favourite as it has whipped my body back into shape, it's an incredible workout. Now that my baby wants to crawl everywhere I can't bring him anymore but thankfully I can still continue to go as long as I have a baby sitter ;) The owner is especially good teacher and has a beautiful energy read more

I currently go to the Moksha yoga studio in Maple which is a 20 min drive and I am quite pleased with the studio there. Yoga loft is up the street from my house so I decided to check it out because they had $5 classes from Mar 1-10. Once I filled out my waiver form and realized that the studio was right beside the front desk, I knew I wouldn't have a relaxing class. You have to walk through the small studio to get to the co-ed change rooms. I would say it's pretty distracting if you're lying down in Savasana pose to get ready for your practice. The change room is tiny with 2 washrooms with the showers inside. There's definitely going to be problems once it starts getting busy and people have to wait to use the washroom and the shower. The yoga teacher was ok but you could tell the she wasn't very experienced. The flow was kind of all over the place. There was absolutely no yoga etiquette whatsoever. The lady beside had taken off her stinky socks and out them beside her mat. That sort of thing wouldn't be tolerable at Moksha. People were talking before we started the class and just as I was lying down in my final Savasana, the class ended abruptly and everyone started talking loudly including the teacher. What a way to end my practice! I don't think the teacher even knew the first thing about yoga etiquette. I will definitely not be going back there and I hope people don't waste their money there. I've checked out other yoga studios and this one is the worst. I recommend Moksha if you are serious about yoga. read more

I find this studio very peaceful and good for yoga and meditation sessions. The fact that its located next to Kortright Park adds to the "zen" of this place. I went to wednesday's hot yoga class and I liked how the instructor explained the benefits of each pose as we moved through the flow. It was an intense workout and I felt relaxed at the end. As soon as I walked in I knew this place was different. I was greeted with a big smile and felt welcomed! The energy is completely different than that of those big yoga studios. This is how yoga should feel; a safe warm inviting and comfortable environment where you can really let go. Seems like a small, local, community based studio. Change room at the back, fully equipped with water filter and showers. Nothing is lacking from this yoga studio. I bought the first month pass for $40 and it gave me the chance to experience all the instructors. Most instructors are either Yoga Therapists or are Yoga Teacher Trainers. And you can tell that they know how to attend to everyone's level and health issues or fitness goals. What is unique to this studio is that they have levels! So they actually cater to beginners and to those like myself who sometimes just don't feel like working hard in a flow class. I didn't feel pushed to standard poses. I was able to go at my pace. And they don't heat the beginner classes to that extreme temperature, it's a pleasurable heat! You must try the Yin classes-glorious!!!! read more
