The instructor knew everyone by name and where they like to set up in the class. I admire the following this tiny spot has made. I will say, I am not a fan of partnering up in a class. It's cool for them. They know each other. I, on the other hand, am uncomfortable. My practice is for me. Not saying this is a bad thing. Just not my thing. The instructor is very knowledgable. She seems to be inspired by the students yoga breakthroughs.

The yoga studio is located where the Janie Rae Dance Studio is right next to the Fire Station across from Vincent's Pizza. Street parking is available. It's $10 a class, but they also have Living Social Deals and class cards, which give you classes free. They have hot yoga, yoga for beginners, vinyasa, candlelight yoga and mommy to be (prenatal)/ mommy and me yoga. They also have special events such as wine yoga (Yoga in a Bottle) and yoga in the park during the summer time. The studio has a neighborhood feel; it has holiday parties and is more intimate than Core Power Yoga etc. I've taken the hot yoga class, which is taught by Bill Sr - owner of the studio, and the intro to pranayama class, but I don't see that on the schedule anymore. I had never tried the Spin shoes before and they have them available for free to use to clients. The girl at the front desk was very helpful and showed me how to use them since it was my first time. First class was free which was also nice. And they have childcare. Couldn't ask for more! I wish this gym was closer to me as I only have Crunch HV near me and they only have a couple RIDE classes a week whereas this one has 3 a day (they also have Barre and TRX). They had ~25 bikes in the class. I liked that they had it dark, especially during intense moments. It does have black lights so if you wear white or neon, you will glow. Pricing: $18/class; 3 classes $16/class; 5 classes $15/class; 10 classes $14/class; $115 monthly unlimited or $99 if do recurring. Happy I found this spot and can't wait to try more instructors!

They are worth your time and money, but be forewarned as a side effect you will probably become too small for your wardrobe and need to invest in some new clothes! ;-) Prior to Water and Rock Studio, I was an avid bicyclist, runner, and amateur sports car racer, but suffered a major injury while cycling that required an extended period of inactivity and rehabilitation. I also had a pretty weak core and not much upper body strength. Following physical therapy / rehab for a shattered clavicle (now plated & screwed back together), I wanted to increase core and upper body strength, build endurance, increase flexibility, and learn yoga. After an initial meeting, we also identified a need to reduce my stress level and take steps improve my nutrition. My regular one on one sessions tend to check in on personal health, stress levels, and nutrition, and then engage in a wide variety of functional fitness work. It is always changing, so you never get bored or find it repetitive. This can't be understated, as I hated trying to go to a traditional gym and using whatever machines were available - that never worked for me. Reflecting back on the last two years of working with Water and Rock studio, I have to say I have been highly impressed with the result, and it has been worth every penny spent and every minute invested personally. I've lost 5 inches off my waist and reduced body fat by 1/3. Feeling great overall! That said, the results depend on **your** commitment and willingness to try new things and focus on fitness and nutrition every week between your sessions. I am now stronger and in better condition that before my injury, my nutrition has improved, my health has improved, I have learned and regularly practice yoga, and my stress level has diminished. I have not felt this good in years, and friends, family, and co-workers have all noticed. I highly recommend Japheth and Water and Rock Studio - give them a try and see what you think!

I was quoted yet a different price and owner kept double talking prices....40 dollar initiation fee....first was 25 a month with 1 guest...then was no guest. Better options for a gym out there. Equipment a little worn out..muscle head gym trying to pass as a more upscale gym. Only thing they have beyond what Planet Fitness offers is free weights past 60 lbs. Save your money and go elsewhere. Ask around and you will see that this review is nothing more than a straight up review.
