The office is very clean, neat, and modern. The staff is pretty friendly and professional. Fast forward months later, I see that there's a lab claim on my insurance for $1,500+ and that it's my full responsibility. How can this be, if I went to in-service medical provider? Well, apparently this provider only uses one lab called bio-reference lab unless explicitly expressed by the patient to use another. This is the most backwards ass thing I have ever experienced. How can you as a provider not do your due diligence to see where my lab work needs to go? Why is that my responsibility. Why wait for some nonsense like this to happen, when you could tackle the issue on the front end? Now there's a huge possibility that I have to pay this large bill for SIMPLE LAB work because office assistants don't want to go the extra mile to check. It's disgusting as hell and I know this issue is a massive problem within the American Healthcare itself. Providers need to do better. I'm a 23 year old woman that is new to the healthcare insurance enrollment period (that typically occurs in September/October) so if you refer back to my date of service you could see that this is months into using my new insurance after being on my parents. Why must people advocate for themselves when providers should be doing their damn jobs to make sure things like this don't happen. I had one of the office assistants tell me that they don't check the specific labs that will accept a patients lab work. WELL, I'm requiring and urging you all to implement better practices within your office. There's no way WORKING PEOPLE should be stressed about paying medical bills due to your error and lack of care. I pray I am able to beat this, and that nobody comes after me later down the road. I'm simply not coming back here. I'm sure the doctors here do great work, but it was the lack of care from this office that has made me very very cautious of where I go now.

Imagine my stress when moving and looking for a new GYN after recently having a baby. I started with this practice in 2013. I've seen both Dr. Rogers and Dr. Scartiscini (and his daughter, the NP). Dr. Scartascini is gentle, humble, very smart, and probably approaching retirement. He is well liked and it's easy to see why. He has a lot of cultural competence and I appreciate that. Dr. Rogers...well, he seems a little prick-ish, but I like him. His demeanor can be somewhat like 'ewww...I don't wanna touch vaginas' but he takes you into his office and THOROUGHLY explains everything in detail with tons of options. I think he's better as a researcher or professor (not patient facing). The Greenbelt office is old, small, parking is horrific and it doesn't feel like somewhere you'd want to be. Bowie office is behind the Bowie health center near the shopping center where Macy's, etc is. Not a bad location, but the building is just odd. New construction appearance but a closed floor plan. Makes it feel secluded and not a lot of access to natural light. It's a little scary walking up the stairwell to the second floor. Eekk. The biggest problem with this practice is THE PRACTICE. The staff is horrible, the wait time on the phone is horrible, the wait time for appointments is horrible, the disposition of the staff is horrible......I do NOT see how people deal with this.

Luckily I did not read the reviews here before making my appointment here because either things changed since they were written or people based everything on one bad reception experience and not on the dr care. I felt so different like i was finally seen here where at other places i was put off, bounced around and received conflicting information. Ive only been twice and attended a support group talk that i was very excited to be invited to as i was in dire need of real information without being inundated with commercial angles or any BS. So far I am very happy with this clinic and found it clean, personable, professional and the fact that they spent so much time with me to hear my overwhelming case history was a pleasant surprise. I assume its why they suggested her group to me. I will be returning there and also very interested in utilizing her free menopause support podcast / zoom group again since i have no family or friends to speak with plainly. I found the doctors detailed medical info very much on the nose with what i needed to know and the shared antidotal info (from other patients) was extremely helpful during this trying time. It was such a great feeling to hear with all my symptoms my quality of life was important and any uncomfortableness i am feeling is not an overreaction in anyway! It was very nice to have the option of such a practical tool while i am struggling most - especially from non-judgmental woman who really listened and clarified so many questions I had. And no i am not a shill. I do not work for her and was not paid for this review. I am just thankful to finally get help instead of hurt worse like KP did. Such stress relievers here at this office! I wish I could give them 0 stars. On 12/31/10 I visited their office for a medical concern. The…read morenurse had my blood drawn for testing. They told me they usually get the results back in 1 or 2 days but definitely I should get a call back within a week. They never called. I contacted their office several times in January 2020, and routed to voice mail and sometimes the front desk person who promised to relay the message. I never received a call back. I contacted their billing office and explained I wanted my test results, the billing guy said he would relay the message. I never got a call back. I visited the Family Medicine office across the hall from them (whom they had referenced me to) and explained the situation--they said their would contact the office on my behalf. I never got a call back. Fast forward today- I revived a bill from Labcorp--this office billed me $614 for testing I never received. In fact, my insurance BCBS has already paid $525 for the testing which I never received. I called Labcorp who gave me their testing line. Labcorp will mail the results to me, of course I will have to analyze and interpret the results myself. This is the most incompetent doctor's office I have ever been to. That's saying a lot since I'm in the healthcare industry. I will not be back and I will also be changing the family doc, as I don't want to have anything further to do with these people.
