This is a good place to go for those wanting to eat a lot, but don't want to spend a lot. There are enough food variety present. For the soup, they have the egg drop, hot & sour, and wanton soup available. Theming of the supposedly Chinese restaurant is all over the place. You would have the usual Chinese dishes along with some mediocre sushi. I did not find any wasabi present, but at least some Kikkoman soy sauce is available at the dining table. I did appreciate that they have some roast beef, mashed potatoes, and gravy present. This is not something you would bet to find in a Chinese buffet, but it was a treat for me to have something different. The roast beef was very tender, but came off a little salty. A salad bar is also present as well as some fruits and pudding options. The service was excellent. I appreciate that the servers were all very nice, polite, and helpful. Sub par food, little variety, Let me be more specific: -the chicken balls were good but chewy, not balls at all but rather pieces of chicken in batter. the chicken inside was chewy -the roasted beef was cooked to leather consistency -the spring rolls tasted of old grease -the egg rolls were just as bad as the spring rolls. -the chicken wings lacked flavour, not your typical yummy buffet wings -the bbq chicken wings were chewy as leather -the rice was rice....little flavour -desserts were 3 different types of puddings that looked unappetizing -the fruit was all previously canned except the watermelon. that was the best of the buffet! This was not my favourite Chinese food buffet, although you grandson loved it, even said it was his favourite. Oh well, we were here to celebrate his birthday! The food was plentiful, with a variety - there was even a limited offering of 3 or 4 different types of sushi. Unlike Mandarin, this place does not make it in front of you. For me, there was a lot of "Canadian style" Chinese food - breaded, fried and covered items, which are filling but usually contain a lot of breading. There were a variety of fruit on the buffet, as well. And shrimp offered at least 3 different ways. One of the trolleys of food had a bunch of deserts, such as different colours of jello, and butterscotch or chocolate pudding which were both bland. The rice pudding was ok. Oh man... So We came here because we wanted chinese buffet. And since in that area there are no mandarins, we settled for this place, boasting the cheap $12 lunch menu. Well, you certainly get what you pay for. This was a HOLE IN THE WALL. Located in a huge building, which must have been a different restaurant beforehand, is a subpar buffet. There was quite a few hot tables and dessert tables, with a variety of items to choose from. The food was kinda gross, with only a few salvageable items available. The carpets were stained, the wallpaper was running, the bathrooms were disgusting. And the waitress that took our payment short changed us, and wasn't convinced that she did, we made her go back and re-count.. sure enough there's our missing money. Terrible food, I know it is not expensive but for $12.99 you can get something very decent food in any other place . Many items didn't look fresh, including beef, fish, chicken etc . Came to Branford for a tournament. Can't beat the price for this buffet !! Not a bad selection!, good for kids, they loved it, especially the dessert and jello. Parents love the price. $6.99 for a 9yr old., especially when kids only eat onion rings and fries, and they get to pick. Better than McD's for kids. Don't expect too much from sushi section. Salad bar looks ok, They also have wonton soup, hot and sour. Place was clean!, waiter/waitresses provide pretty good service. Lots of parking! This place is great for big groups!!, You go in, sit , eat and thats it. No waiting to order, ect.. And as i said... you can't beat the price!!! read more

When you have a family and you don't feel like cooking, this is a great and affordable place to eat. Food is always hot and fresh. All the food tastes great and they have a salad and desert bar. Also alcohol is cheap. For my school graduation I had 10 people and 3 kids and the bill was under $100 bucks. It's little more expensive now but still affordable. Even going for chicken wings is worth it. I never skip the roast beef either. I come here regularly. read more

The only reason I can give this a two-star review is because the food is good. The service, however, needs work. I ordered from here two days ago and could overhear a very obviously new staff member ask someone in the background how to add the delivery charge to the order. Whomever they were speaking to told her that they offer free delivery for orders over $20 (see the menu). I was told my total was $38.48 and hung up. Forty or so minutes later, the delivery man shows up at my door and says the total is $44.48. I asked where the other $6 was coming from and he said it was the delivery charge. I told him what the menu said about free delivery, but apparently his service charges its own fee. I couldn't find the receipt in the bag (where he said it was) to argue with him, and he threatened to return the food if I didn't pay his $6 fee. I had guests to feed so I paid him, and later found a greasy menu, with a receipt stapled inside of its folds, stapled on the inside of the food bag itself! (see photo) I feel extremely ripped off by this con delivery man and the staff member who decided to charge me delivery anyway. I won't be ordering from here again. read more

This place is very cheap, and has a decent selection of food. The wait staff doesn't speak English that well, but are friendly for the most part. They don't have a great sushi or shrimp selection but as I said before, they do have a decent amount of your classic "Chinese food" items. The washroom is sort of dirty and I wasn't thrilled when I asked for a refill on my Diet Coke and the waitress brought a full cup over and poured some into another customers cup and the other half into mine. Found that VERY odd. You can't beat the price but this place definitely isn't high end. read more

Favourites; Sesame Chicken, Peppered Beef When this new buffet opened, the Husband and I were excited to try it. We had heard mixed things from people who had been there before us, but we have come to name this one of our favourite places to eat! The price is excellent for a buffet, the other ones in town are either too expensive or cheap but with poor quality food. Yong Great Wall is the best of both, great price and excellent food. We've gone for dinner three times now, and we haven't had a bad time yet. The place is rather large, with lots of seating options and peaceful decorations and music. We've sat in each of the seating areas and found that while sitting at the front is our favourite, all of them are well placed and not too crowded. The Staff are quick to seat you and are attentive to their tables. Plates are cleared away very quickly and drinks are topped up frequently. The buffet selection is quite good, and the Staff does a great job of replenishing food even when it's not necessarily needed. All the food is kept hot, and the selection is decent. The plates are always clean and the buffet area is always being tended to, you never see food mixed in with other food or food outside of where it belongs. All the food has its' own individual flavor, everything has a unique taste. Our favourite foods are the Sesame Chicken and the Peppered Beef; both are delicious and have a very savory flavor. They also offer some sushi, but I only recommend it during regular hours of business. It seems that it's not too popular, and getting near the end of the night it looks a little dried out. The dessert choices are quite good; they offer fruit, ice cream, pies and cakes, pudding and some prepackaged options like Two Bite Brownies. The fruit itself is very fresh, when compared to other buffets; it's actually juicy and ripe. The Apple Pie demands a recommendation from Quick-RR; it is warm and fantastically made. There's a decent mixture of Chinese and Canadian foods to eat, but the overall selection isn't as large as some other buffets we've been to. But, for the price it is well worth the trip. We very much enjoy going to Yong Great Wall Buffet, the price is great for the excellent quality food. The Staff is more than accommodating, even offering to make new food for us when we went late at night. This is a much better choice, in our opinion to some of the other Chinese Buffet style restaurants here in Brantford. We have not had a bad time going here yet, and we recommend this place highly. Was not impressed. Poor selection of food and what was there didn't taste the greatest. Great service though, very nice staff.

I have nothing nice to say about our experience except that more isn't always better. We went in for a quick dinner around 5:30 thinking the food would be fresh.The food was mediocre! The rice and noodles were overcooked! The ribs tasted old. The chicken dishes were dried out. Even the chocolate eclairs had freezer burn. Left with a bad taste in my mouth vowing that we wouldn't go back. Also, don't expect free refills on soft drinks although at $1.69 free refills can't be expected! Our meal for 2 with one soft drink ended up being $33.00 with taxes and tip. Could have gotten a nice take out dinner for two elsewhere! was our first time here was so disappointed,, the entire time we were there there was no sushi and only a few shrimp, none were ever brought out in 2hrs we waited for some. Alot of the food is processed frozen and just heated up was quite the turn off, if we wanted to pay for frozen food we would have bought some. $1 more for soup crazy as it too probably comes from a frozen bag, desert is gross all store bought cookies, brownies and pie was cut so thin it was dried up on the plates, just nasty! never again, don't wast you money or time for the money not worth it read more

wife says 2 stars i say over 3 stars but not 4 so put 3 stars as an average she said meat looked burnt and was sitting in pool of liquid generally she didnt like the cooked food but said salad and dessert was ok she is used to eating in more expensive places i liked most of the food but like most resteraunts they could go lighter on the salt if all the food was labelled i would not have to ask what was vegetarian too many meat dishes even chicken in a baked potato is too too much meat rice and egg rolls were my favourites thought it could have had better quality desserts if they eliminated the sushi bar and spent it on high end cake and pie that would leave you with an excellent ending to a meal ice cream and pies are the lowest end of the scale polite friendly staff decor excellent with nice atmosphere would return again left full and happy read more
