Master Mia and her staff are amazing! From the moment you walk in the staff greets you and your child and to my surprise they actually remembered my child's name! Pretty impressive considering they have dozens of students come through in a day. I've also been very impressed with the curriculum and how quickly my 4 year old has picked up on things. She looks forward to our weekly practices and I have seen such a positive shift in her attitude since starting! Her response to many of my questions is "yes ma'am" which I have Master Mia to thank for that. They teach children about respect and working hard and as a mother I appreciate that so much. My daughter has worked hard and has already worked her way up to the next belt and I have the coaches to thank for that! I signed up for TKD because it seemed like a fun way to get exercise. I have gotten so much more than that since I signed up earlier this year!! Tae Kwon Do offers tremendous mental benefits--focus, memorization, spatial reasoning (all those things we tend to stop practicing as adults). I was worried that I wouldn't have time in my schedule for the classes, but was surprised to see that in just a few weeks my new boost in mental clarity was SAVING me time at work. Physically, the exercise has been great. My immune system has enjoyed a boost--I haven't been catching all the illnesses going around! The exercise includes a nice range of cardio, strength training and flexibility. Working toward each belt has been surprisingly rewarding. There is a sense of camaraderie, working with peers and kids in the same belt level. We all have so much to learn from each other--that's humbling and keeps me feeling young! My sense of responsibility in my community has increased, as that's a core component of the TKD culture. I'm seeking out ways to help others more! Every time I pass a piece of litter, the masters' voices go off in my head until I pick it up. :) The masters are amazing. They always wear a smile and an encouraging voice, but that doesn't mean they'll let us get away with doing anything less than our best! The TKD culture is full of respect, strength, integrity and honor--things that have been forgotten by most of us Americans. Spending time here has been a great influence on me, that has spread to all areas of my life. The extra programs offered (Leadership Team, Demo Team, etc.) are great assets to our community, as they nurture kids, teens and parents into better neighbors, students, employees and employers. My daughter has been in TwaKwan Do for 5 years. She is now working on her 3rd black belt. This will be her "real" black belt in the World TwaKwanDo Federation. (She's been in three different programs!) The first program she was in. accepted her at just 2&1/2 years of age, we will always be greatful to Mike and Kurt for their extreme patience in working with such a tiny tot full of energy & giving her a wonderful foundation to build on. But now, Master Lee's YongIn is a true school for TwaKwonDo! The Masters that come from Korea to teach are just amazing. A combination of strict, yet patient. With my high energy child, I do wish they were a little more strict! They have a wonderful student to instructor ratio - my child is never lost in the class. She never goofs off- they are watching! Okay, she goods off, but gets called out on it! If the class is large; out comes another instructor! No student sits on the sideline of class watching, EVERYONE participates! Another thing I really enjoy is a sense of community. The children make connections/ friends outside of their normal social sphere. That's really important these days! They also have outside activities, fairs, movies, camps, for the children to enjoy. The school also teaches respect to one another, parents, teaches, oneself- self control, self respect, some life lessons that don't come from mom and dad; yet are so vitally important. SO impressed with Master Lee's Taekwondo studio!! The staff is absolutely incredible--my children have done extracurricular activities for years, but never have we experienced a place with such supportive staff who genuinely cares for each and every child. Both of my children absolutely love Master Chae, Master Nam, and Master Jacob! The masters here are obviously very well-trained and have a passion for the martial art as well as teaching. You definitely get what you pay for--lessons are not cheap, but they are worth it!! Though our family is on a budget, Master Lee's Taekwondo classes are a non-negotiable activity due to the massive impact it has had in our family. My young daughter was going through a difficult time and had frequent outbursts of anger at school--we didn't know what to do as we had been to several doctors, therapy, and tried everything we could think of. We decided to enroll her at Master Lee's, where my son was already a student). their patient/loving staff, paired with their core values and teachings of respect and focus made a huge impact!! My daughter has nearly no issues at school and our family is much more functional. I cannot recommend Master Lee's enough! She likes it because it is a good workout, they work on many different skills, and every belt has new form and sparring so you can continue growing. Ahhhhmazing! Organized, respectful, traditional and authentic Fabulous staff. Learned recently that Master Lee flies home to Korea to hand select any new trainers/instructors. Had my son's birthday party there last year and (no surprise) they did a fabulous job. It was the most fun 6 year old birthday party for kiddos AND parents I've ever attended. They take care of everyyything (including rosauers pizza which is pretty good!) except the cake and the piñata. They even gave me cute little invites! Well worth the money for up to 15 kids I also had my son participate in the week long camp last summer and again...they didn't disappoint. It was well organized, taught the kiddos fun and valuable things (how to use chopsticks!!!) and started each day with a short meditation. Miss Mia is a powerhouse and if I had a daughter she would be in her class for sure! She is strict and sometimes sharp but always kind and fair and you can see the love her her eyes as she ruffles the hair of a little one she teaches. She is passionate and enthusiastic about her work. The kids LOVE her and so do I. Always teaching them to be active, respectful, grateful and to eat healthy...I admire her teaching abilities a great deal. Also they host movie nights, Halloween or new year parties, fundraisers for the children's hospital, open houses etc. they are always evolving and growing, but mindful to keep their principles intact. I had a bad experience. I was looking to build confidence in my 4 year old daughter, whose father is a black belt. We tried once class and were locked in a little room where you are bullied into purchasing a package. My daughter felt bullied by the teachers, they were far too harsh on her. My husband and I are so very impressed with Master Lee's Taekwondo. They are highly organized, extremely attentive to each individual, and very skilled in this martial art. In the short time that my son has been going, he has reaped much benefit from this program. They emphasize the importance of focus, respect, integrity, goal setting, respect, etc. I have seen a noticable change in my child's self esteem and confidence level since he has started the program. We have been attending Master Lee's for the past year and have been so happy for the program for our boys (ages 5 and 7). The staff could not be more incredible and make my boys feeling so special at every class (as they do for every child in class). Miss Mia and her teachers truly care about each student, have so much patience to help each child progress with their skills, make class fun and instill wonderful characteristics in the children (focus, confidence, patience, respect,strength, determination, etc.). I love the staff and the classes. If I were to base my review entirely on that it would be a solid 4 stars. What has made the experience sour to me is two things. The COST. for one person its not bad but if you want to do it as a family its outrageous. Constant surprises with undisclosed additional costs. after a few months I got the feeling the the heart of the school is to make as much money as possible. There is also the matter of being told things will cost X and then finding out they cost Y. They use a yearly subscription plan like GYMs used to. so if you commit you still have to pay even if you hate it a few months in. They need a sheet that discloses all possible costs so people know what they are committing too. at the end of the year it will cost my family minimum of 5079 dollars Had we known this at the start we would have gone with a different option On and there is a sign up fee if you want to go a second year. read more

In 2014 my husband and I took in 2 street children, from very bad abusive homes. We had what we thought was a guardian ship rights for the children. We had signed the children up and after two weeks the young boy was injured during class and then two weeks later the young girl was injured and only after 2 month we had learned that in fact, we did not have guardianship rights and the state withdrew the children for them to go to relatives in California. We called Yong In Master Lee's and the woman there and told her our predicament and that the children were not in our home or state any longer and that we never had the legal right to even sign the children up. The woman there was very understanding (on the phone) and said that they would void the contract since it was not legally signed in the first place. Well, on the phone she has told me this 3 times over the time since the summer of 2014 but in reality the contract has never been voided. They are still seeking actively to collect over 9,000.00 from us when we could not legally sign for these children. So basically the woman we talk to is very passive and understanding on the phone, but is lying about voiding an obviously voided contract. Beware. They are not who they seem to be. And honesty is not foremost with these folks read more
