We went for the first time yesterday. This place is great!! Our kids had a blast running around and going up and down the big jungle gym area. We paid $10 for my 3 year old and $12 for our 8 year old, affordable for so much fun! And that's for all day not for 1-2 hours of play. They had a winter break camp going on, there was about 10 kids who were being watched by 3 adults who worked there, we thought that was a cool option for local families. They have drinks and snacks and we also really appreciated that! I asked for a Flat White and it was actually delicious! Bridget was the one working the front desk, drinks and snacks yesterday and she is really awesome! Very sweet with great people skills! The play area was also clean, they must wipe things down pretty good every day. The only cons are when you first walk in the first door for entry, the small walk through room smells heavily like chlorine with a hint of mildew, like you're about to walk into an indoor pool. Also, the bathrooms looked like a daycare bathroom, out of toilet paper, toilet paper on the ground and no towels to dry your hands. Im sure they have their hands very full during times they have camps where they are watching a lot of kids. Someone going in and checking the bathroom once an hour should fix that. And lastly, we forgot to bring water with us for our kids, they don't sell water bottles and they don't have filtered water. They do have 2 water fountains for the kids but I don't let my kids use water fountains. Next time we'll be sure to have our waters with us. The indoor play yard is the best-kept secret in Boise! Seriously - such an awesome place for kids to get their energy out. Our friends send their kids to preschool here and they love it too! Booked a birthday party package here and it completely exceeded my expectations. We had several 3-5 year olds and the party host coordinated everything so that we could relax and enjoy and not stress about any of the details. We had a lights off glow dance party with music and video of our chosen theme as well as coordinated activities in the main room, pizza lunch and the host to help us with it all. read more

My husband and I went to the couple ropes course for a date night. First off, it is a smoking deal. We only had to pay $50 which included the ropes course AND dinner. There are gluten free options for dinner but not many. I had the Fiesta Salad which was good and much appreciated after the workout from the ropes course. Husband had the buffalo chicken flatbread. He said it was good though he wish he could add more spice. All this being said, you don't go for the food. You go because it is an awesome adventure to do with your sweetheart. Sooo much better than your typical dinner and drinks. What really made the night special was how amazing our instructor was. He was patient, funny and encouraging. Wish I could remember his name...what can I say I am old. Saw the kickboxing class while we were waiting and it looked awesome as well. read more

I was visiting Boise in October with Grandkids and needed a place to take them. My daughter in law suggested Bodies in Motion. Took two boys, ages 8 and 4 and it was a great place! There are lots of things to climb on and a wonderful long slide for the kids to go down. The area that is more "ninja" is only for older kids and I would say they need to be in good shape to do it. The people who work there were very friendly and helpful. I paid for the day and we left for lunch then came back later. Afternoon was nice because most of the families with little ones had gone. Lots of room, you do not feel crowded. I would take the grandkids there again. read more

Ax Throwing!!! So much fun! Gavin did a great job explaining safety and rules, he helped us with techniques and form. It took us about 20 minutes of throwing to get a bullseye! Such a fun night! Our entrepreneur group, EO Idaho, wanted to do something special for our members in this crazy year! As we couldn't bring everyone together, we hired Bodies in Motion to host a virtual party! We had so much fun! I have so many wonderful things to say about Bodies In Motion, I don't even know where to start! BIM is a big part of our family's life. Our daughter goes to their preschool and day camps, plus she's in their Little Ninjas taekwondo program, and my husband and I have been group fitness class members for 2.5 years. First, regarding their preschool, we are THRILLED! Our daughter started just after her 3rd birthday and came from another school that we loved too. She entered pretty shy and unwilling to try new things, especially physically challenging things. Fast forward to today, 1.5 years later, and she has grown in every possible area. She knows phonics amazingly well, loves letters, coloring, and art projects. She's constantly telling us about the science experiments the kids do at school (usually involving food coloring, marbles or, lately, volcanoes). She flies through BIM's open play structure, rides the little zip line rope upside down, and goes down the huge slides with zero fear. She zooms up the climbing wall with ease and LOVES when the ninja warrior classroom is open for playtime so she can swing on the ropes, jump over obstacles, and use her "super strong muscles" (her words). Twice a week the teachers help her change into a taekwondo uniform and she and several other kids take 30 min Little Ninja classes. We're still at work at that time of day and it's awesome that she can participate in a fun and challenging activity like this without us needing to drive her somewhere after we get off at 5. The preschool teachers and director are energetic, caring, and fun. The kids love them and we do too! The teachers are never on their phones, the kids get almost zero screen time (yay!), and things like independence, responsibility, manners, and physical activity are strongly encouraged. My introduction to BIM was in January 2016, one year after I'd had my daughter. I was ready to start exercising again and eager to lose baby weight. BIM hosts a 3 month exercise and nutrition program every January called the New Rear Challenge, featuring regular weigh-ins (focusing more on body fat than weight--they have a fancy scale that tells you all kinds of cool stuff), several workout options a day for 6 days a week, and nutrition coaching with food logs and weekly feedback. Their workout classes come in two varieties, kickboxing and SGX (which is like intense circuit training). I loved both! I loved the group atmosphere, typically with one instructor and 5-8 students per class. You really get to know everyone, feel supported and accountable, and get a kick ass workout. I lost 15 pounds and felt SO MUCH better and stronger at the end of those 3 months. I was psyched but made the mistake of thinking I would keep up with my new routine after the challenge ended. I didn't. I came back for the new New Rear Challenge in 2017, this time with my husband, who had never been a gym guy. My hopes were low for him since I'd never seen him get into an exercise program, but much to my surprise, he dove right in and LOVED it! I lost 18 pounds that 2nd time around and he lost at least that much plus his cholesterol numbers improved drastically, all in just in 3 months' time. We both became year-round members after that and have continued to go to kickboxing and SGX several times a week, occasionally participating in the challenges BIM hosts a few times a year (like the New Rear and Earn-Your-Turkey challenges). I love the heart rate monitors they introduced a while ago. You get to watch your heart rate during class, see the number of calories you've burned, and see your classmates' stats too, all on a big TV in the workout room. Needless to say, both my husband and I are considerably healthier and stronger these days thanks to BIM. We see a lot of people come in during a challenge and get hooked like we did. It's not for everyone, though. This isn't a gym with cardio and free weight areas you can just pop into anytime. You have to come at a scheduled time, get your butt kicked in the best way, and keep coming back even when your muscles are tired and sore. It hurts so good! There is a lot of camaraderie here with many long-time members, consistent (and badass) instructors, and lots of families like ours who take part in several programs. When I go to a Saturday morning workout, our daughter comes along and plays for free in the open play area. She thinks it's the coolest. All fitness class participants are welcome to let their kids do the same. Bodies In Motion is a business that truly lives its core values. Look them up on their website. They really mean them! The owners, Rachel and Duncan, are inspiring and awesome. And I do mean AWE-some. I am constantly in awe of how they stay so fit, committed, and positive while managing a thriving business and raising their own family. They rock and BIM rocks! It is really hard to find more fun indoors in Boise than Bodies in Motion. A million programs, martial arts, indoor ropes course, giant play structure, coffee and lunch, it is perfect really. My 11 year old daughter and I love coming here and doing the ropes course. It has high, challenging obstacles that are fun and completely safe ... but give kids (and adults) a chance to feel safely out of control while learning to lead and navigate obstacles. You'll climb, swing, jump, pull, and rappel your way around a course that requires balance, strength, coordination and courage. Most importantly, you'll have a blast. The owners Duncan and Rachael have put together a team of people to rival Disney. They are so focused on ensuring your experience is perfect every time that you almost forget you only drove a few minutes to have so much fun. Plenty of parking, easy to get into, REAL service. And, if you just want to let the kids play while you enjoy a beverage, there is plenty of room for that too. We'll keep coming back because it is more fun that a barrel of monkeys! read more

Like Kelly's review before me there is no one word you can use to describe this place. I am just finishing up their Ultimate Body Challenge which is a 10 week butt kick! I have already dropped 10 lbs and 5% body fat! I feel like I am in the best shape of my life and the staff has taught me that my body can do much more than my mind thinks it can (i.e. Box jumps!). I have so much more confidence and feel like a new person. I started the program when my son was 8 months old and I would recommend it for any mom wanting to get her body back. I am already in better shape then before I had my son. The facility itself is great for family and kids. My husband and son come and play while I workout and then we can order delicious food for dinner. I also love the new protein shakes after an AM workout. I can't say enough great things about BIM. There is so many things going on there its a great place for anyone! read more

Ok, so you know how amped you get listening to Eye of the Tiger when you watch Rocky? Or the Star Wars theme song when it blasts onto the screen? Or maybe when you crank up Rage Against the Machine and rock out with your toddler? What, is that just me? Anyway, THAT is how excited I am to review Bodies in Motion. I've known the lead instructor and owner for almost fifteen years, and have taken fitness classes from him in four different venues from his lowly beginnings as an assistant Taekwondo student/instructor to now opening his own fitness/karate/daycare/playland/food/coffee complex. And I have to say Duncan Richardson can work you out and run a business like nobody's...well...business. This place is awesome. The whole concept is to get people moving and healthy. Kids, adults, in shape and obese... everyone fits in here and they really care about you. First the instructor staff: Duncan the lead is personable and charismatic and can almost will the fat off you. It's amazing. He makes it fun to kill yourself in a thairobics class and I'm pretty sure he could make a root canal a good time. His wife/biz partner Rachel is an ex BSU cheerleader and mother of four... who looks like she coud whip Schwarzeneggers tail. Ripped! And is also super nice and very good at getting students to work. Kyndal should've been a drill seargant... heck, maybe she was? Either way, she knows her stuff and does not allow failure in her class. You always get a great workout. Rhea seems like she's going to be nice to you in class, and comes off so friendly it's disarming... then bam you're sore for a week! Which, is exactly what you want in an instructor. I'm actually sore as I type this from Rhea kicking my butt last night. There are a few other instructors as well, and they're really all awesome. The facility: Wow. It's got a wave slides that is tied for the largest indoor one in North America. The slide is attached to a kid-zone type climbing gym playland thing... I can't describe it better than that, but it's got slides and obstacles and a little zip line thing... it's cool. So while your kids play there (or stay in the on-site daycare facility), you can take Karate and/or fitness classes (which run simultaneously). There is a ropes course on site, and if you get hungry there are wraps and pizza and espresso available at the cafe inside. It's brand new and set up perfectly for families on the go... which is what I like best. I could go on for days: There's after school van pickup, they do birthday parties, and on and on... it's just pretty awesome and I highly recommend you go check it out. I got to partake in the first Thairobics class they held there last night, and it was really impressive. read more

Very convenient service and some of the staff are amazing. They were responsible with picking up kids and communicating when they could not promptly locate a child. It was quite unfortunate that when I had some issues to discuss they dismissive of my concerns and failed to offer a courtesy reply to repeated emails. In the end it was disappointing. Customer service to the children and parents should be priority, even if it's only in a small measurement. read more

We first start going to BIM last summer for tae kwon do. Their Little Ninjas program is just the right amount of fun and study for the little tots. The instructor, Rachel (also owner) is amazing with the kiddos - keeps them focused, attentive, and having fun. Then we started at the preschool, and this is when I really feel in love with BIM. The preschool program here is amazing! Sarah, Lexi, Lindsey and Jessica are beyond wonderful with the kids. I love them all and I could not have been happier with Tyler's preschool experience. The curriculum is strong and interactive, and includes a lot of physical activity which is great for little boys (and girls!) I am very happy that my son is able to continue spending time there before and after Kindergarten. I feel so at ease knowing the BIM team is taking care of him during the day and transporting him to and from school safely. I'm really appreciative of this program and all the staff here. The place itself can seem kind of overwhelming when you first go in - kids running everywhere, classes going on, adults hanging out drinking espresso and eating yummy flatbread...don't worry, it's a smoothy-ran operation! The large "open-play" structure is any kids' dream. If you stop in you can relax on a comfortable couch while the kids have a ton of fun. It's just a great overall place and we are lucky it's near our neighborhood! read more

My husband and I came here for the ropes course date night. The ropes course was challenging! Although, I wished there was more trusting or communication activities for the couples. The course was set up for more individual activity. You could follow your partner around, but at no time did you work with your partner to achieve something. Just a suggestion! Or perhaps I misunderstood what the date night consisted of. The date night also included a dinner entree for each person. The food is healthy and tasty! Thumbs up! read more

First time and it was awesome!! There was a long haired dude that was awesome with the kids. I was really impressed with him! I tried to order food but didn't realize the cafe closed a few minutes earlier, but the lady working there said it was no big deal and made our food anyway. She was so nice! This place has lots of room for the kids to run and play and couches for the parents ti have a beer on while they wait and watch. We found a Groupon for the Cosmic Ropes course here. It's basically their regular ropes course but in the dark with black lights. My husband and I went with 2 other couples because the Groupon was so affordable. The website says it starts at 8:15pm so that is when we got there. Apparently we were supposed to have arrived at 8:00pm. So we did get scolded for that. Anyway, an "instructor" quickly showed us how to put on our harness and then we got started. I have to make note here that everyone who works in this facility is teenager. It is not the most confidence building feeling as you are climbing 15ft in the air to see a child waiting to help you at the top. Anyway, the course is pretty small and you just go around the different rope obstacles. There are no beginner or advanced areas. So it can be pretty challenging if you have never done anything like this before. Everyone in our group went around almost one full time before they turned on the lights and said we had to go. So our total time in there was about 35 or 40 minutes from walking in the door to walking out. I don't know much about the other activities they do here but we would not come back for this again. read more

The play area is great but poorly lit. It seems atmospheric but not very cheerful when that dim. There are neat interactive video games that are rarely turned on. Maybe the games are the reason for the lighting so why aren't they on? The seating for adults lacks electrical plugs. The snack bar is excellent with lots of healthy options that are reasonably priced. I'd give 5 stars for all play options running and/or better lighting, expanded play area, electrical plugs for adults, gluten free snacks and coconut milk or almond milk offered at the coffee bar. read more

Let me first say this. I thought a long time about writing this review because I don't like writing bad reviews; unfortunately I feel deeply about this incident and feel that others should be aware of this problem. Second time we had our kids in this place due to school closure. My wife dropped them off in the morning and I was there to pick them up after work. After they verify my id and I sign off the paperwork, individual running the front desk radios people in the back to bring my two daughters to the front, after about 5 minutes, I asked him if there was a hold up and he radioed the daycare again, this time a couple of ladies show up and it was immediately obvious there was something wrong, so I started investigating and asking questions, the care taker told me that she had no idea who my kids were as they were not part of her group. No one, they guy in the front, care taker and another girl who seemed like may be a lead or supervisor had any clue and they were just standing there talking amongst themselves until I had to raise my voice at them open the gate so I could go inside and look for my children. Fortunately my daughters were just there playing unsupervised for several hours to the point that one of them had an accident, later when I asked her about it, she told me that when this happened, she told one of the employees and that person just told her she should have used the bathroom, except she is only five and did not know where the bathroom was. That should have been a clue for them as to who is supposed to be watching over this child. My other issue with their performance was that when they realized that they may be facing a missing child situation, they should have got on the PA system and called my kids names rather than standing there just talking amongst themselves about who was at fault, basically figuring out who was to blame, and watching a frantic father yelling his daughters' names in their play area trying to get over all the noise. I can totally understand that communication breakdown could happen, especially on a busy day such as the one we had when our girls there, but the fact that they just stood there and did nothing to help, matter of fact they guy behind the counter was more concerned about selling food to a couple guys than assisting in finding my children Believe me I understand that at this point I sound more dramatic than anything but at the time of the event, in those few minutes that I did not have my daughters in my sight and did not know where they were, all I could think of was that my two little girls were missing Manager/owner called me the next day to follow up and he assured me that this had never happened before and that he would take steps to train their employees to prevent such events, unfortunately at that point in my mind the damage was done. He even offered a free day at the President's Day camp for my daughters to which I told him I would never leave my kids at their care. As I mentioned in the beginning, I thought about writing this review very hard and even waited for some time to pass before writing this. Ultimately I feel as a parent, if I chose to leave my children at someone's care I would want to be aware of something like this. Thanks for reading. read more

Very pleased with the open play area. My 4 year old was in heaven. So much variety between the indoor play gym, costumes, train tracks, exercise ball... You name it. Was not a stuffy parent area either. Clean, cozy, bright. Has nice couches for parents or a cafe sitting area with tables and chairs and internet access. Will be returning!!! read more

The other people who wrote reviews were at BIM for classes or programs. I cannot speak to that, and have to assume that they know what they are talking about. However, as someone who came in strictly to let my kids play in an active, indoor play facility, I was very disappointed. For the money, I didn't think the play structure was very impressive. You are much better off someplace like Planet Kid. But by far the most disappointing aspect was that the ropes course was in the same big room as the play structure. There were many neat ladders and ropes hanging to the ground that were a magnet for my children. However, THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY ON THEM. In fact when they tried to, they were told not to. The entire two hour time period we were there, there was a four person bachlorette party using the ropes course. So, because they were there, we were not allowed any access to the ropes--even though they were just using one small portion at a time. It was torture for my kids to watch other people doing things that looked really fun but not be able to participate themselves. And they were so distracted by watching the bachlorettes they didn't really even enjoy what was available to them. Fortunately the day I was there they were running a promotion that allowed me to pay with new or like new children's books and I didn't spend $32 for my four children to be disappointed and frustrated.
