Business has offered me travel a lot around world, and been always seeking Korean restaurants everywhere I land. Visited many Korean restaurants in many countries from US to EU, and I found Yori is belong to the top tier. Service seems depending on the time of the day as usual, but flexible enough to accommodate me despite arrival during break time between 4 and 6 PM that I didn't know. Now I recognize the opening time is corrected at Yelp. Overall for service, comfortable to give 4 and half stars. Food is the most important to me as I've always looked for authenticity of Korean dishes. There are lots of places serving fusion, not authentic Korean dishes around world, which make perfect sense to me because they're supposed to serve local clients, non Korean. Therefore I don't intend to claim anything negative to those places serving fusion Korean dishes. However, Yori seems to be a rare Korean restaurant around world where is brave enough to serve AUTHENTIC Korean traditional taste to Vienna folks..! Of course, everyone has different tastes, but I dare you to try all menu items there and I'm confident to say that most Korean traditional menu dishes are authentic. For your reference, my favorite consists of Kimchi Jeon as a starter or appetizer, Sundubu JJigae as main, and Nokcha Icecream as a desert. There is Very Berry Soju if you're caring for a Korean alcoholic beverages. This is a Soju cocktail with pretty reddish visual... I loved it. This is my 3rd visit to Vienna for last 6 months and I'll come every quarter, but no longer worry to discover a Korean restaurant fulfilling my craving for Korean food. This makes my stay at Vienna simply more pleasant..! I would give 5 and half stars on food. Taken all together, five star with two thumbs up...! P.s. Listen if you spend enough time in Central Europe you will get sick of schnitzel and pork knees. Eventually you have to explore other flavors. Thankfully Vienna has this spot. The food were also presented nicely, so good place for a date. One of the best Korean restaurant I have been to. The place is nice and service is good. There was an issue with our orders (they hadn't been processed in the system) bu when the waiter noticed that nothing was coming out of the kitchen apologized and put our teas on the house and our food came out quickly. I had a Quinoa Bibimbap which was a huge portion and very tasty. Side dishes were also very good as well as the rice tea that I drank. Fantastic Korean food, the best I've had so far outside Korea and I've been to many Korean restaurants in many cities including all the ones in Dublin, a few in London, Tokyo and Manchester. The Bibimbap here are very authentic and have the raw egg yolk, which I prefer a lot more as it's the real way as opposed to fried egg. The portions are big, and all dishes come with miso soup and three side dishes (spinach, fried tofu and kimchi) called Banchan. The kimchi here is also good, not overly sour like many places and you get a decent amount too. I had the quinoa + rice bibimbap which is an interesting and healthy take on the traditional dish. The service was very efficient and fast. There is a button you can click at the table to call the waiter, and they appear in literally a flash. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, and overall I was very pleased with the high standard of service. The atmosphere was chic, lovely Korean style decor and metal chopsticks with the restaurants name engraved. The menu had pictures of a few dishes which was helpful in getting an idea of the types of food served. Another thing I noticed is that most of the customers were Korean as well, which means it must be popular! Prices are mid-range but the portions are plentiful. The only downside is you must have a reservation, as walk-ins for dinner are practically impossible, especially if you go around 6-8pm. However, lunch time and after 8:30pm are generally ok, but I'd highly recommend a reservation in advance, as the first time we went around 7pm, there were no tables available until 9pm (and this was a Tuesday night, not even Friday or the weekend). This was the most horrible experience in my entire life, I made a reservation few hours before and I also called them 15 min before my reservation and when I arrived they told me that they didn't have any place for me. The stuff didn't even care that i didn't got my place and they were most of the time ignoring me. After 20 min of waiting I just left and the stuff member just said ok. I don't think it was ok? First time seeing a Korean restaurant during our visit in Europe. Either that or we didn't try hard enough to look for one. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and they have nice little lunch plates that come with your entree, some sides and soup. I got the Sizzling Stone Bibimbap which was just enough to fill me up. Amazing. Great balance of price/quality/atmosphere. I thought it would be nice to see if the bulgogi was good and wow was I ever surprised! They give the option to have it made in the back and then brought out for you OR have it taught to you on the side grill next to you table. The latter offers a fun experience to learn something new and try things on your own. Many side dishes to go with the bulgogi and a pleasant way to eat it (on lettuce, which you roll). The staff is really kind in helping you through the process and they give a pleasant vibe to the place. Almost like you were invited to their home. Aside from bulgogi, the clear choice if you come here, they have some really tasty dumplings and dessert. The other mains have similar themes, either in a hot pot to keep things cooking or something else entirely. Very nice resturant..I would say the best Korean Restaurant in Vienna. For people with wine or others minimum €€€. I could rate them 5 stars...but the service is rather slow... only the drinks come in half hour. 40 minutes till food arrive. Go on a weekend when with a car.. so you needn't worry about parking. Friendly and courteous young staff..very accommodating. Once the food arrives your wait is well rewarded. Babique ...have limited tables so a good reserve is well advised. Beautiful and clean toilet. If you are in the restaurant for more than an hour ..you'r clothes smell of the food...so does your jackets. You can ask them to move the Barbique stoves to the sides or in the middle. read more

We went there twice, great bibimbap - fish over rice served in a thick stone bowl, which since it's super hot slowly roasts the contents - palate delight! I had such high hopes for Yori. Especially after all the good reviews. What is painfully obvious for me is that all these people have never experienced authentic Korean food. Otherwise it is impossible to give them more than 2 stars max. The restaurant itself is nice. The waiters are pleasant. The tea I had was delicious. But good tea doesn't good food make. I wish I would have been wrong about my impression, but as you will find out when you read on, I was right. The food was bad. The wait for the food was endless and the waiter came to our table numerous times to apologize. The food was actually so un-korean and unremarkable that I was sad and ate little. The shining star of the evening was the housemade Kimchi. A small little Banchan dish of Kimchi stole the spotlight of everything else we had. First thing mind boggling, you have to pay for the banchan??? Why would that be? Never have I paid for Banchan in any Korean restaurant I have ever been to, neither in California or New York. Second, no Korean chop sticks. I asked for them and they dug them out from a cupboard. The restaurant uses chinese chopsticks. Weird. Explanation was that Austrians can't handle Korean Chopsticks. Ok, I thought. This should have been a BIG RED FLAG and I should have cut my losses and left because if Austrian's can't handle the chopsticks how can they handle the spicyness of Korean food? As an appetizer I ordered the Korean pancake. OMG! It was so gross. Nothing like the deliciousness I was expecting. It was like the batter was way too thick but then also not cooked through at the same time. So dispappointing. Why would Yori make this delicious dish so bad that no one would eat it who ever has had an actually Korean pancake before? Big question marks all around. Second I ordered the "Lungenbraten", the most expensive cut on a cow. Also, most expensive on the menu. It said this was a dish formerly only prepared for the Emperor. It came with ...drumroll....blanched vegetables??? Serious? That's as Korean as Austrian Apfelstrudel is Chinese. And what other vegetables were on my plate? Broccoli & bell pepper! The most Korean of all vegetables. Not. And button mushrooms (Champignons) also not Korean at all. The taste was the most bland, uninteresting thing I have ever had the displeasure to eat. Yes, the beef was tender. The taste was.....well, there was no taste. The Banchan that came with the dinner were extra-mediocre. Nothing of the amazing Banchan I am used to. No Gochujang to be seen for miles. Nothing to spice up the blandness. Nothing. So sad. Except the Kimchi. The Kimchi was very, very good. I did ask the waiter what was the reason this food tasted nothing like I was used to and he said: oh, our cook is in Korea right now on vacation! Serious? Come on. And you couldn't get someone else to replace him/her? And he also said that Austrians can't handle spicy......enough said right there. This is another one of those restaurants that call themselves "Korean" (or "Szechuan" if it was marketed as a chinese restaurant) but actually they cater to the people that come so much that they loose everything about what should make them authentic. This is not an authentic Korean restaurant. At least have the decency to call yourself Korean fusion if not Asian fusion. I won't be back. Yori restaurant is one of these few so don't hesitate to rush in if you like Kimchi, Korean barbecue, spicy beef and chicken and these many side vegetables coming with. The surroundings is modern and warm with red colours and wood everywhere. Waiters are smiley and really sweet. We visited the restaurant few days ago. Compared to other korean restaurant in Vienna, Yori was more modern, attractive and very clean to me from the view of inside furnishing. The staff was very friendly, always smiling. It was pleasant atmosphere. I ordered the physalis-mandarin tea. Compliment to the cute tea set. The tea itself has a light scent of orange, unsweetened. The menu isn't that huge. I already had a look on the menu on their online website. Me and my friend we ordered Kimchi, Gangjeong chicken and the seafood pancake as appetizers. It was sooo delicious. As main courses we ordered the hot stone pot bibim rice and pan-fried calamari squid (served with plain rice). All the main dishes are served with extra side dishes in small portions. Just like authentic restaurants in Korea. I couldn't let go and ordered the nockcha tiramisu. Which was a tiramisu with powdered green tea. It wasn't over sweetened, but creamy and lightly bitter... fresh taste. Just a perfect healthy ending for the dinner. Recommendation: the SEAFOOD PAJEON (with full sized shrimp and fresh spring onion, you get a soysaucy dipping with sesame seeds in it); GANGJEONG CHICKEN (inside tender outside crispy with a sweet and lightly spicy coating with crushed peanuts pieces, omg my favorite); BOKUM SQUID (tender meat but you could taste the smokey grill marks) ! The portion size of the seafood pancake and the gangjoen chicken was surprisingly bigger then expected. ! There's each one small portion of kimchi included as one of the side dishes of both our main courses. (Not sure if this is a regular case there.) So don't order kimchi extra if you don't like it too much. Since it's common that korean food is spicier than Austrian, you should ask for non-spicy one if you can't handle the heat. Foremost, 4 stars for the food (actually, based on Vienna standards, it is actually 5 strs for the food), which, as always, is what I base my ratings on. That said, if I based this rating on service (or included service in my overall rating score), plus some of the other issues mentioned below, Yori wouldn't pass 2 stars. If you have eaten in Korean bbq joints all over the world prior to going to Yori, it is hard not to compare it to some of these places. Although Yori's food is top notch in Vienna the food is not as great as in bbq joints in LA's Korea Town for example. Food first: Gun Mandu - pan fried veggie dumpling. Very nice. Served with a side of sauce, which had a touch of spice in it. 4 stars. Gangjeong chicken - fried honey chicken with peanuts and chilies. Also very good. I loved the sweet spicy combination and the texture and crunch of peanuts. The chicken was cooked perfectly - soft and juicy. 5 stars. Glass noodles - with carrots, onions, shitake and eggs. Loved it. Well seasoned and perfectly balanced dish. 5 stars. Bulgogi - good, not great. This is one of the dishes where it's hard not to compare Yori to other Korean bbq restaurants. 3.5 stars Galbi - completely bland and unseasoned, unevenly cut and when cooked on Yori's electric bbq grills (that don't deliver enough heat for meat to cook properly), this dish completely falls apart. 2.5 stars at best. Side dishes - served with bbq - range between 3-4 stars and are overall acceptable. Another point - Yori requires you to order at least two orders of either Bulgogi or Galbi (for some reason you can't take one order of Bulgogi and one order of Galbi)! This is extremely strange, especially if two people want to grill Bulgogi and Galbi they must order for four people! And, each (very small) order is approximately EUR 20/pp, which means that you'll end up paying at least EUR 80 if you want to grill both of the above dishes at your table. Not good! Now to the service: If you have never dined in a Korean restaurant before (like some of the people who joined me for dinner), you need the staff to walk you through the menu. This wasn't the case at Yori. The service appeared too busy to be able to talk to customers, they took the entire order and brought appetizers out together with the main dish, which created a clutter on the table, and they also didn't explain what was what (really important especially with the side dishes) when the food came out. So, 1.5 stars for the service. When making a reservation, you need to tell them you want a table with a bbq grill (why all tables don't have bbq grills is beyond me) otherwise you'll end up with a normal table and you can forget about the Korean bbq experience. read more

Great korean food! I lived in Korea so I'm pretty picky when it comes to it, but this was great. I had beef bulgogi and it was delicious. The only improvement would be to have freshly cooked rice that is steaming hot. Right now it was a bit cold and dry but we had dinner late on Saturday night as well. Would still go again! Where do I begin with my awful experience here? They must've had a bad night but nonetheless, I was upset upon entering this joint. The host checked us in and immediately scolded us for being late for our reservation. Not a good start to the evening. Then seated us downstairs...if you are led downstairs, walk out of the restaurant immediately. You will be served as a second class citizen because there is one server for about 30 people...with absolutely no help! And if you're thirsty, forget about it. They will give you one small glass of water and will never ask if you need more. Food took about 1.25 hours to come....so do not go hungry to this place. Food was ok....nothing special of youve eaten Korean food before. If you haven't, you may enjoy your meal. Hopefully, my experience was based on a bad day for the restaurant because bashing companies is not my taste....hopefully if you dare to go, you'll have a much more pleasant experience! read more

After 5 days of horrible bland Austrian cuisine, this fusion restaurant did the job of satisfying my Korean craving taste buds but I wouldn't come here if this place was in NY or DC.
