My partner wanted the Poulet DG (they were out) so he had the mafé. Both were very good, with huge portions (though it's a hard sell for me at 38€ a plate). We also ordered 2 sides of plantain. They were both undercooked, so they prepared an order for us to takeaway. We also tried the 2 rhum based drinks (I really liked the ginger one). Service: It was okay. Initially, someone came every 2 minutes to ask to take our order, which was too fast for me and felt a little commercial. Once our food came, no one came to check on us again. Ambiance: Overall, I love that this type of restaurant exists in an accessible part of Paris! It's more upscale than most you'll find in the city and is large and lively. Live music was a bonus and loved seeing couples, families, and people of all backgrounds. I wish they had put the AC on! It's clear this place is made by Africans for a wider audience; if not for the price, I'd go back again soon.

After doing an "around me" search, Osè African Cuisine - Saint Lazare came up as a number one contender. Since we were cozy in our hotel room, we decided to have it delivered via a food delivery app. We ordered the following: the Accras 9 (starter); and two identical "build your owns" consisting of the following: Riz Jollof (rice), Mafé, Émincé De Boeuf (beef), and double dose de piment (hot sauce). Forty minutes later our bag of deliciousness was delivered with the brown bag lightly saturated in oil (remember the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air episode when Will said that you can tell good food by the appearance of the bag?). The Accras X9 was a delicious preview of what would be an overall scrumptious dinner. Aside from being very satisfying, the portions were huge! Therefore, we were able to skip the inconvenience of finding breakfast the next day and eat our leftovers instead. If you're looking for African cuisine to satisfy your loins, I highly recommend Osè African Cuisine - Saint Lazare!

Much like a chipotle chain of restaurants in the USA, you choose the type of rice you prefer, followed by a protein, sauce, and an extra carbohydrate. I chose jollof rice, chicken, mafa sauté, and plantains with a side of yellow colored hot sauce. It was great, but the rice got me so full. The spicy dish is something I needed to break up the French food routine. Located near saint lazare train station in Paris.

We started with roasted chicken hearts (seasoned with a bit of cayenne) and then found ourselves deluged with entree after entree. Our first time we had the fish and rabbit. The plates were accessorized with rice and fried cassava (better than fries). On the second occasion, we got the fish as well as guinea fowl. We also had to repeat the chicken hearts (my favorite), rice and cassava fries. The food prep is fast, the service is fantastic (even though I speak literally no French. The ambiance may not feel conducive to an incredible meal, but after your first bite, you won't even notice it. I wanted to come a third time on a weekend and dance with my wife to the music, but we didn't get a chance before returning to the States. All of Jo Papi's staff are incredibly sweet and do a lovely job with the food. Jo Papy is of course a very welcoming and generous man which only adds to the appeal of his restaurant. 5/5 intend to go again!

The menu is very small which is always a good sign because you know that they don't have pre-made dishes. Not vegetarian friendly cause it all consist of meat/fish based dishes. The starters are roasted chicken hearts which are AMAZING. You don't want to arrive too early cause they don't start cooking right away. The entrance is a big black gate and it has no sign so it's not easy to find. Then you have to walk to the back to the restaurant
