Oh yes! Authentic Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) food straight from Jo Papy's kitchen. The food is so good, we came back a second time with a friend.
We started with roasted chicken hearts (seasoned with a bit of cayenne) and then found ourselves deluged with entree after entree. Our first time we had the fish and rabbit. The plates were accessorized with rice and fried cassava (better than fries).
On the second occasion, we got the fish as well as guinea fowl. We also had to repeat the chicken hearts (my favorite), rice and cassava fries.
The food prep is fast, the service is fantastic (even though I speak literally no French. The ambiance may not feel conducive to an incredible meal, but after your first bite, you won't even notice it.
I wanted to come a third time on a weekend and dance with my wife to the music, but we didn't get a chance before returning to the States.
All of Jo Papi's staff are incredibly sweet and do a lovely job with the food. Jo Papy is of course a very welcoming and generous man which only adds to the appeal of his restaurant.
5/5 intend to go again! read more
