This beats all of the gym-based "dance" classes I have ever taken. Drop-ins and varied levels of membership are available so it fits every schedule. (They offer private lessons, as well.) The community is second to none. I get a workout in, listen to great music and enjoy celebrating special occasions with a growing group of friends I'd never have otherwise met. We all work to create space in our schedules to come - it's worth it! The director, Ernesto, is an extraordinary teacher and pours so much training and encouragement into all the dancers.

We had a great time, felt confident in what we learned, and certainly will go back soon for more lessons and events. We both wanted to take country dance classes but didn't like that our only option was a bar. When we tripped across Studio 22, this is exactly what we'd hoped for. This event was organized and well planned with professional instructors who were patient and kind. Studio 22 made it fun, not intimidating. The ratio of guests balanced itself out. They encourage frequent rotation of partners (if you go as a couple, that's okay too), no one person was without a partner for too long. There was a wide range of dance lessons, not just country. The studio itself was very spacious, large enough to hold 50 - 80 people comfortably. There are dozens of four top tables along the wall, no reservations, you have to grab one asap. You are allowed to bring your own water bottles (BYOB). They kept the temperature very comfortable, impressive! Dress code is casual attire, something easy to move in, and shoes you can easily shuffle in. There is a fantastic YELP coupon when you check in: 1 Free Group Lesson. Teachers are welcoming and patient in group lessons. The community here is also very nice. Parking is super easy-- there's a huge lot with tons of parking spaces. My instructor, Ryan, has been fantastic, keeping me from feeling discouraged even when I'm tripping over my own feet. After just a couple lessons, I'm surprising myself with what I can accomplish on the dance floor. Besides the excellent instruction, the studio is immaculate and comfortable. This gym is primarily women as most classes offered revolve around music. The classes are well choreographed and the instructors are fantastic people. It is kept very clean and has a cool waiting room. They have one bathroom so not a full changing area, but some people do change when they arrive.

Being an experienced crossfitter that has dropped in to many boxes I always appreciate speedy responses and getting all waivers and payment out of the way ahead of time. He set me up for the 530 pm class the next day but my schedule changed and I was able to go earlier. I changed my reservation online. When I arrived I was greeted by Nick and he even remembered that he originally scheduled me for 530. Love that attention to the details. The class was faster paced and kept moving which I appreciate. I would say that you should have the fundamental understanding to drop into any box, but definitely needed when the box keeps things moving quickly or you will get lost easily. I would definitely return on my next trip to Addison. The location was pretty convenient to my hotel and it was spacious. All in all it was a welcoming environment and I left being thankful that I could squeeze in some fitness on my business trip.
