Our driveway grade was a problem: there was hardly any elevation change from our garage to the street, and different angles were involved. After careful elevation measurement, they recommended installation of a drywell. We decided against that because of cost. They assured us they'd take every step to make it the best it could be, but could not guarantee that some puddling might occur. We decided to hope for the best. The crew came out earlier than expected, and got right to work. Paving machine was used and during the job foremen were shooting levels to ensure the drive would drain to the street. Well, after light, moderate, and torrential rains, our driveway looks great and drains perfectly! Could not be happier with the thorough work that was done, and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

We hired Victorian Fence to install a new fence, and unfortunately, our experience has been…read moreextremely disappointing. First, I want to say that the workers themselves were hardworking. My frustration is not with them, it's with how the company managed the project. They started the installation on May 19 with only two workers, even though it was clear that two people could not complete an entire backyard in one day. Two additional workers didn't arrive until around 4:00 PM. The most important part of the installation, the gates, wasn't installed until around 8:00 PM, when it was completely dark outside. I don't understand how anyone could properly install gates under those conditions. Unfortunately, the rushed installation has led to ongoing problems. One of our gates was installed incorrectly and now will not shut or latch unless someone pushes it from the back every single time. As of today, July 14, it barely shuts at all. The metal hardware has become damaged, and because the gate is misaligned, the latch repeatedly strikes the white vinyl fence, causing damage to the fence itself. The gate posts also move far more than they should whenever the gate is opened or closed. The lack of follow-through has been even more frustrating than the installation itself. On May 21, just two days after the installation, Joe came to inspect the fence. He acknowledged there were multiple issues, made notes of everything that needed to be corrected, and left with the understanding that the repairs would be scheduled. We never heard back. On June 1, I contacted Joe again because one of the gates had stopped shutting properly and I was concerned about how much the gate posts were moving. I received no response. After following up again on June 9, Joe returned on June 11 for a second inspection. Once again, he reviewed the issues, said everything would be taken care of, and told me he would send me a follow-up email. That email never came, and no repairs were ever scheduled. It is now July 14. Despite multiple phone calls, text messages, two site visits, and repeated promises that the issues would be fixed, nothing has been done. There are still chunks of concrete and construction debris left in my backyard from the installation, and we're left with a gate that no longer functions properly. For a company that prides itself on its reputation and quality of work, this level of workmanship, communication, and customer service is incredibly disappointing. We paid in full expecting a professionally completed project, not months of unanswered follow-ups and unresolved issues. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Victorian Fence.

They are super hard working and care deeply about doing a great job, always aiming to please the client. The price quoted, was also quite reasonable, especially given their attention to detail and service. Steve is wonderful to work with and also has a great eye. As a designer, I appreciate that and enjoyed interacting with him. We later contracted them to do additional work at our property, give the positive experience we had with them. The only pity was that we previously hired another firm to do the plantings, which took weeks to complete, given they sent few men each day to do the work. They promised 7-10 turn around time and sent the invoice right away minutes after speaking with Viviane. She was very helpful in getting all the details needed for the job and making sure the deposit was paid. Once I paid and awaited the job, I followed up in one week at the earlier end of the the TAT and was told it was ready and was in the finalizing stages, it should've been ready at the end of the week. I followed up at the end of the week, and didn't get a response until days later, claiming the same thing. Now we're past the promised time and I found myself calling and emailing nonstop for an answer. I was started contacting the VP he said he was on vacation and would have someone contact me end of day. When I didn't get anything end of day, I called him back. No reply. Then I called him back on Monday he said I would hear from someone. Same run around for days. I wrote a really long email about the discontentment and unsatisfactory I had been receiving. Someone else by the name of Nick, stepped in sent the survey ahead of final payment and apologized. I didn't like that I didn't hear from Gary again with an apology or anything. I wouldn't refer anyone to this company as they do not hold to their word. I found this company on Angie's List and I will leaving a review there as well.
