I am not a regular with posting reviews but came across this page and another post while checking my accountants address. Yount Hyde & Barbour have been nothing short of fantastic from the moment my wife and I secured their services. They have patiently helped my wife progress with her growing home decor and gift shop and take care of our personal accounting needs. Chris Pearson is a delight and the rest of the staff is always helpful and kind. We are certainly not a large account by any means, but we feel like we are. I honestly recommend Chris and this office with my utmost enthusiasm here just as I do in my daily encounters with anyone who needs an accountant. read more

I do not recommend Sareene Tax and Associates based on our experience…read more We ultimately spent $4,500, including IRS interest and the cost of hiring a new CPA to correct errors in tax work this firm handled for us two years earlier. We filed a complaint with the Virginia Board of Accountancy and were informed that an audit was expected to take place at the end of last year. We have not received any updates on the outcome. We also hired an attorney, at our own expense, to formally present our concerns to Sareene Tax and Associates in an effort to seek reimbursement. They stated that no mistakes were made and have not reimbursed us for any of the expenses we incurred. In our view, the errors were clear, and resolving this situation was both stressful and costly. For these reasons, we cannot recommend this firm.

I left a google review and Mason decided that he would want to accuse me of breaking the law by intentionally not filing my returns. I had taxes sent to a separate address that I couldn't receive due to my military services which he knew but instead he wanted to publicly accuse me of doing something like that which only adds to the fact that he's extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend.

The question was about filling out the form correctly and not have to pay $395 for a consultation if I made a mistake on a form. Apparently, email questions answered by assistants cost them too much time and money. I mailed a copy of the ridiculous email I received to the lawyer, thinking surely this was a very bad employee, not reflecting the true response of the lawyer herself. But no answer. I had spoken with the lawyer previously when she was new, and she said to call her any time, I guess money changes everything. Now there is no true concern for women who need a lawyer, unless you have endless finances. Heartless. There is no trust here. Run as fast as you can! I should post the email, it is unbelievably rude. Very unprofessional, and I was cut off unless I could pay $395 to answer one question to fill out the form correctly.
