I am very dissatisfied with this lawyer who handled my divorce and child custody. I felt he was…read moreunresponsive to my concerns, often leaving me uninformed about crucial developments. I do not feel this attorney seemed committed to fighting for my interests, especially not challenging erroneous/misleading statements by my ex-wife, for which I had hard evidence to refute. I believe he failed to present crucial evidence in court, and failed to cross examine the Guardian ad Litem, who had information that was critical and would have affected the outcome. Ultimately, I did not secure a fair custody arrangement for my children. Throughout the entire divorce process drawn out over 2 years, I felt frustrated and disregarded despite paying truly exorbitant legal fees.

They were available 24 hours a day and they kept communication open. Jessica was the best, and she really went above and beyond to make sure my brother was safe. My brother's public defender was MIA and Jessica stepped up. After Jessica visited my brother, she gave my brother her number so that he could call her and she would give my bother my number which he didn't remember. I don't know what Furlong Law Offices did but my brother's public defender was located, and he was able to visit my bother. My brother does have health issues; and was finally granted a bond. I'm so grateful for Furlong Law Office because when I was desperate for help in finding my brother, they were the only Law Office to help, and I will forever be grateful.

As well as a separate case. We were prepared to go to court for two months for the custody case but at the last minute my child's father suggested we come to an agreement on our own instead of going to court and letting a Judge decide what would be in the best interest of our child. I was told that this would be the cheaper route by Mrs. Embrey because the time would be shorter and she does not charge as much as she does when she is representing a client in a courtroom. My Ex's attorney told him this as well. We met at the Guardian Ad Lietms office, in separate rooms with our attorneys, while the Guardian Ad Lietm walked back and forth telling us what they wanted in the court ordered agreement and vice versa. I felt like we were in high school passing notes. After three hours of this we finally came to our agreement. A few weeks later I was emailed an invoice by Mrs. Embrey's receptionist, Terry. I was charged the exact same amount as I would have been if we were in a courtroom. Now going on to the seperate case I had. The first hearing I had Mrs. Embrey never showed up! She didn't call or text me. Nothing at all. I called her receptionist, Terry and she had to keep calling her numerous times. Heather gave me a call after my hearing was over and said she was very sick and slept through her alarm and that she was very sorry and that she would take money off of the flat rate that she had originally charged me. Which was $1,500. Terry never took money off of my bill. Mrs. Embrey claims that I still owe her more than $3,500. I do not believe that I do. I paid this woman a "flat rate" on two separate occasions of $1,500 for this separate case. She told me that since the case was moved to a higher court it would be another $1,500. This woman is just about money. She can't juggle her home life and work life. Please beware.

I remember my first time walking into Nicole's office -- a scared mother of two, feeling alone,…read moreisolated, and scared. I had tried 6 months of mediation with my husband, trying to move towards an amicable divorce, and I was severely disappointed that mediation had not yielded more progress. In fact, it had made things more contentious, and I felt so drained and hopeless after every mediation visit. At that time, I felt that it was time to take it a step further and hire an attorney. From the moment I met Nicole, she was so helpful, understanding, and strong, and I felt brave and empowered knowing that I didn't have to fight this fight alone anymore. Nicole was prompt, honest, thorough, prepared, organized, diligent, determined, and helped to manage my expectations through this difficult process. She is incredibly ethical, fair, and grounded. She was able to catch a few technicalities on the opposing party's side, which helped us when we eventually went to court. My now ex-husband despised her in every sense throughout the divorce process (these situations tend to create a normal and healthy amount of resentment from one party towards the other). However, once things were finalized, he admitted to me that I definitely had the better attorney, that she did a great job in and out of court, and that he ended up despising his own attorney and wishing that he had hired someone as competent as Nicole. The situations which lead to having to find an attorney are stressful. The process of choosing an attorney to fit your personality/case is even more stressful. After going through the process of divorce for a little over 1.5 years with Nicole, I can honestly say that she drastically minimized the amount of stress which was placed on me, and she made the whole process as streamlined and straight-forward as possible. I'd hire her again, and recommend her to anyone, in a heart beat.
