AV repair was recommended by a friend 10 years ago. I needed a broken sideview mirror replaced (I…read morehad the replacement part). After installing the new mirror, Jim, the owner wouldn't accept payment. He said "no problem, it was a small job and was happy to help." Wow! Since then, We've brought all of our family cars to AV Repair for body and drive train maintenance, and have always been satisfied with the quality, speed of service and prices. RV Repair is a great local independent shop, and I highly recommend them for all of your car repair needs.

I brought my car here to inspect a low air pressure in my tire. Jim told me that it was time I…read morereplace all 4. I brought it back on a Friday afternoon to get new tires. I paid early, upfront 792 dollars for the replacements. I picked up my car later that night and knew something felt off. Thank god I made it across the busy rode to my parking garage when the front left tire flew off of my car causing significant damage to the front of my car to the point I could not open my drivers side door. Not to mention how shaken up I was after the incident. I was VERY lucky I didn't hurt myself or someone else. If I had kept driving down 114 or my tire didn't hold on as long, this would have been a serious accident. After a nightmare of trying to get my car towed, I returned it to the shop and spoke with Jim who said he would fix it. The next morning I was told my car would be repaired and my back brakes would be replaced for free for the inconvenience- not at my request. I did not want my back brakes replaced. He was not able to get me a rental car due to "high demand." I was told that the workers were rushed that afternoon and distracted- they forgot to tighten the lug nuts... I expressed my frustration about how I deserved a bit more compensation for not having a car for over 4 days, the damage my car had been put through as well as the severity of the mistake. I was met with condescending remarks such as "what could have happened and what happened are two different things," "you're making a mountain out of a mole hill" and "I'll put your old tires back on if that's what you want." You would think a business owner whose negligent mistake could have seriously injured or killed someone would have a bit more pride and respect than that. I felt incredibly belittled and downplayed. Ironic how their website lists the word "integrity"... He even refused to cover my Uber expenses over the weekend and told me he would only cover the trips to and from work even though I had other plans I needed my car for. Not once did he ask to meet me in person, sincerely apologize, or ask for photos. He only seemed to care about himself and not the customer. He bulldozed over my concerns and was incredibly defensive. In the end he refused to pay for my transportation over the weekend. I only got my money back because he agreed to put my old tires back on and take back the new ones. His insurance will now take care of the rest of the damages and transportation fees. Needless to say, I will never be back to this shop. It was a complete headache and waste of my time. Hopefully this accident does not cause further issues for my car. I encourage anyone who contemplates using AV repair to please not jeopardize their safety. There are many other trustworthy mechanics out there who will keep you safe and not treat their customers this way! Safety is not their priority at the business. This was a significant mistake that I hope does not happen to anyone else.

Beware - this dealership withheld our $1,000 deposit after promising a refund!!!…read more We were told our $1,000 deposit to do a test drive and a pre-purchase inspection would be fully refunded if we decided not to buy the car. The inspection turned up more maintenance needs than we expected, plus an undisclosed tire sensor issue and no maintenance history at all on the vehicle, so we decided to pass. Now the owner won't give us our deposit back. When he called to talk about it, he tried to discredit the report saying everything the inspection found was "just maintenance" and that it exceeded manufacturer recommendations, but I put more stock in an independent inspection than the guy who's trying to close the deal. When I said I still wasn't comfortable to go forward he switched up and said that deposits are non-refundable unless the inspection finds something major. That is not what we were told when we were asked to pay it. He's now trying to say he's going to comb through the security footage to prove we were told something we weren't to get me to let him keep our $1,000 that we were told we'd get back. I've read other reviews on here with a similar complaint, people told their deposit was refundable and then given a new excuse when it came time to actually get it back so apparently this is something they do. It's a shame I have to write this review because our salesman Stan was great, patient and accommodating, even stayed a few minutes after closing so we didn't have to wait outside in the rain for our Uber. But after this, I wouldn't trust this dealership with a deposit or a car purchase for that matter. This feels criminal, we'll definitely be disputing this through our credit card company and reporting it to the Better Business Bureau.

**For German car engine related issues, please stay away **…read moreIf your engine dies, but you love your car and are thinking about switching your car engine to one A.G auto service offers, do yourself a favor and stay AWAY from this option. AG auto service will quote price points based on "the mileage" of the "new" engine that is being installed; in reality, Angelo does not stand behind what he quotes, if need be. I spent well over 10K on my engine replacement only for the engine sign to come on soon after the installation. For Angelo to say "it's fine", for the "newer" engine to die within the year, and for Angelo to hold no accountability then. Do yourself a favor and buy the new car you need for years to enjoy and no hassle or headache with such shops. Truly disappointed!

I referred to extended warranty and was advised that A&G had replaced steering rack before. When I went to A&G I din't know what to expect, it was the best reception I've ever had with any service repair shop. The owner, Angelo, great guy, explained to me that, yes, they had replaced rack earlier AND the rack was warrantied and it would be replaced at no cost to me. I've found a shop that is honest and have mechanics that are well qualified. From this point on now anyone who asks about a car repair I refer them to A&G. only. Jim R.
