What first drew me to this place was that they make their own all-natural products in-house. I'm very particular about what I use on my skin since it's sensitive, and I loved knowing exactly what was going into the treatments. The deep tissue massage was absolutely fantastic. One of the best I've had in a while, with just the right amount of pressure and attention to detail. This is my first negative review to be written, but I wanted to ensure no time or money was wasted from fellow mamas who take off work and rearrange their children's schedules only to have an extremely negative experience. From scheduling, to the services themselves, to the attitude from the owner following services, I felt compelled enough to write this review. I was told prior to my session that my provider was newly trained on the massage treatment, but was reassured that she was well-trained and ready for clients. I wish that I had taken out my phone during my session so that I could time the minutes she spent preparing the materials or next steps versus the amount of time I was actually receiving the massage. Not once did she ask how the pressure was, providing the lightest touch that was truly unnoticeable, not having acknowledged my survey that indicated scalp and neck pain requiring more pressure. Additionally, their water system and products used left my hair left smelling very badly/ musty. Upon leaving the services to pay and clearly frustrated, the owner then mentioned that I appeared "in a bad mood", in front of my masseuse, whom I did not want to upset. I politely tipped my provider, and sent an email later to the owner to provide feedback and request a refund of services. I was met with more attitude, and even laughed off. I must say that this place is phenomenal. I have gotten a massage here and also a men's facial. They have amazing customer service and utilize products that are natural and derived from the earth (always a plus). I have gotten a massage with (Amy Rose & Donna). I forgot I had it and when I finally tried to make an appointment for a massage in Feb, I was told by the owner that she would not honor the gift card because it was almost 4 years old. A large selection of aromatherapy oils to browse in the lobby. a huge space to relax in while you await your appointment - although I've never had to wait since they run on schedule. I've gone here for over 5 years and each time I am pleased beyond my expectations. I also have some aromatherapy oils from years ago - they last a long time! The owner is wonderful and very knowledgeable with all lines of the business, currently focusing on the oils but she is also a licensed massage therapist as well. I've received massages, facials, lymphatic drainage, and most recently, I got their new Japanese Scalp Treatment. I didn't know what exactly to expect with the Japanese Scalp Treatment, but it was both a relaxing and invigorating experience. Before it started, Rose explained the process to me to make sure I was comfortable throughout. I wanted a 90 min deep tissue massage. That is not what was provided. I paid $145 and got a Myofascial technique - I was pretty clear on what I wanted and I did not get that service. I spend the entire time on my back when I wanted my upper and lower back to be worked on. Extremely disappointed to pay so much and not get what was expected. I purchased a Living Social deal for an Aromatherapy Facial at Your Body Needs. I was able to look at the available appointments through their website so I knew what I wanted to request when I called to set mine up. I spoke to Rose to make my appointment, and she was the one who gave me a facial as well. I was able to book the upcoming weekend because of a cancellation, so I was excited to get an appointment so fast. Very accommodating and nice on the phone. I was told they do facials on Saturdays and Mondays. Saturday, September 2, I made my way to Annapolis in the rain for a 12:15pm facial. I got out around 1:40. The front waiting area had a few chairs and a nice setup of the items you could purchase after your services. Soaps, oils, diffusers, etc. They had one going at the time and it was lemon and smelled great, getting me into the "spa" mood. My only issue was that I waited in the front area for about 5 minutes, and when no one came out I kind of wandered in a little saying "Hello?". The girl who would be at the front desk came right out apologetically, and helped me right away. Filled out some initial paperwork about allergies and skin history and daily skin routines, and headed back to my facial room. The facial itself was nice. A goat milk soap was velvety and smooth, and probably my favorite part as Rose massaged my face as she washed it. I could feel the clay and hydrating masks tightening my skin as they dried. The only part I wasn't too fond of was the warm towel over my face for a quick moment because it had a bit TOO much of an aroma to it. I could barely breathe with it over my face, but it did feel nice to have the towel in general. I never felt rushed, and was happy to have a few quiet moments in the room alone as well. Rose told me she was using oils tailored to my skin type (dry to normal, slightly sensitive), so I was happy to feel like I was in the good hands of someone who knew what she was talking about. I did purchase a bar of the goat milk soap to use at home. There was no pressure to book a new appointment, which I appreciated. All in all, it was a good experience, and I was glad I purchased the deal. The regular price is a bit high for me, though I know 'you get what you pay for', so in the long run it might be beneficial. They do have a program where you can pay a certain amount a month for massages, facials weren't included in that, but I was told that it could definitely be adjusted if that's what I wanted. Some good. Some bad. I booked a 90 minute Deep Tissue Massage and an Essentials Facial. There were many high points about my experience, so I'll start with that. Exceptional and friendly customer service. The website would not load for me (my dumb phone) so I had to call and ask for the services I was seeking and the prices. The woman on the phone was very sweet and helpful and she helped me book and informed me it would be $150 for the massage and $85 for the facial. The facility was clean and the staff was welcoming and very accommodating. Unfortunately the facial was a complete waste of $85. Before hand I asked the esthetician if it included my neck and décolleté, to which she said yes- however during the experience she kept excluding them and I had to keep asking, which made me feel bad, but I couldn't understand why she said yes and then kept forgetting. Also this "facial" was literally a cleanse and 3 masks. SERIOUSLY???? I can go to CVS and buy 3 masks, very disappointing! She also steamed my face for a minute- still not worth it. She then said "we'll now do 'extractions'." Finally I was excited for more of what I expect from a facial! Unfortunately their version of "extractions" is DRAGGING a metal thing across your face which was very painful and left red marks on my face for two days. I'm sorry "Your Body Needs", but that is NOT 'extraction'! It ended with cold balls along my face, which felt awesome because it was burning from the fugging trauma of the metal thing across my skin. Followed by a face cream that didn't offer enough moisture to even almost hydrate my face and a hand and arm "massage" that was not a massage at all, just her hands touching my arms. The 23 year old esthetician also tried to give me advice on my "mature" skin- Um.....I'm ThirtyFuckingFive, and I simply mentioned my skin is starting to age. I could've done without the lecture from the child. Really irritated me. My deep tissue massage was very very good. However when the therapist asked if I'd like him to use essential oil, of course I said yes. "Your Body Needs" is advertised as an aroma therapy spa. I thought he was just asking incase I didn't want it or something. Welp, it costs $20 for the therapist to put some essential oil on his hands and let you smell it. You never smell it again after that. Twenty freaking dollars for a "whif" that last seconds. Seriously? My body is also extremely tight, so the therapist had a hard time massaging me. I felt really bad because he was obviously exhausted and exerted, so I just started making jokes about how "my body is difficult to work on". We both laughed, but in truth I was kind of sad that I was apologizing to my massage therapist for having to massage me. I also was sad that we didn't have time for the stretching portion of my 90 minutes. My transaction total came to $255 and I gave the massage therapist a $20 tip because I felt bad about obviously exerting him. So here I am, $275 poorer and I still need a decent facial. Oh yeah, afterwards I went to the mall to get a neck massage from one of those Asian places because my neck was still tight and I needed to relax. Yeah. I should have posted this review more then a year and a half ago. Rose and her group are the BEST massage and aromatherapy place I have ever been to. When I was 23 I had a freak injury that requires the need for massage therapy frequently. I found Your Body Needs from an Amazon deal a year and a half ago and jumped on the deal. I was so impressed at the professionalism, the way customers are treated and the quality of work I pre paid for five massages before I left my first visit. I have chronic shoulder pain and after I used the five massages with in a month the pain was gone and I had more flexibility in my shoulder and neck area. Every massage is personalized and takes into consideration trouble spots that person may have. Testing a new place is almost like a first date but they make you feel comfortable from when you walk in the door. They do not just offer massage and aromatherapy but they have their own line of essential oils, lotions and creams. I like many people, I did not know how the essential oils work , not to worry there frequently have free classes available to explain the benefits of different oils and how to use them. I also learned how bad some of the store bought soaps, lotions and even laundry detergent are for your skin and body and have started to make the change over to more natural items. Don't worry if you are not into those things no one is pushy or makes you feel bad if you do not want to use the lotions and oils. Crofton was closer to me but I would drive an hour away to come here. Annapolis will be spoiled! read more

My fiancé booked me for a 50 minute massage with Your Body Needs, and it was a great experience because the area is in a perfect location (new location! it's located near the shopping center and the mall, but far away enough to avoid large amounts of pedestrians and congestion), good parking availability, my therapist Rose was so sweet and very welcoming and attentive to meet my comfort level and overall my expectations, the waiting area is nicely decorated and rooms are perfectly dim with a hint of natural light. I was able to see the couples massage room and was totally impressed by the layout that I booked a couples massage upon leaving. It was a nice experience as a whole. I just got out of a massage with Kate. This was one of the best massages I've ever had. I suffer with chronic migraines and I left my massage headache-free (and that's rare). I decided to add on the chamomile aromatherapy oil to my massage and I definitely think that helped with with my headache. It does cost extra, but it was so worth it. Something I noticed was that at the end of my massage, I asked if I could add my tip on my credit card and the sweet lady at the front almost acted surprised and said that they don't expect tips. I had one of their holistic facials, the Restorative Facial, and I've never walked out feeling as relaxed and glowing as I did after this facial. The best bit, is the glow lasted for a couple of weeks!! The team are all incredibly lovely and make you feel welcomed and valued. Donna was my massage therapist and what impressed me the most about her was that she is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about massage and various techniques. She asked my goals, and spent extra time working on my upper back where most of my tension is. This was the first time I had someone really work and focus on the individual muscles.
